As believers we are no longer under the law and we need to crucify our flesh as the Holy Spirit enables us. We are totally forgiven by God for all of our sins and there is nothing that we do that will make ourselves clean enough for heaven , thanks to the total sacrifice of Jesus on the cross all of our sins and even the punishment for those sins have been nailed to the cross. Every last person on this planet has addictions some worse than others but all with the same outcome till they repent and follow Jesus and then the addiction is only in the flesh as their spirit is placed by God into the heavenly realm with Jesus .
