IMO if your going to upgrade your head unit to something like this it's worth spending an extra $20 and 20 minutes to install a rear camera.
How do you add a rear camera to this one?
20 min, to run the wire from the dash to the rear bumper, you are amazing.
@@kevinyeon8234 These units are pre-wired for rear cameras. You just need to purchase a generic camera & install. There are plenty of Vids on yt for installation.
The Camry se, xle, hybrid come with a camera. It is one of those 2 round rca plugs that he didn’t connect, or maybe that radio isn’t camera compatible. He didn’t tune any radio stations or xm or shift to reverse for a camera.
@@hopeyoustumbleuponthis.8627 You have to take out the seats though, right? or no? Thanks
I actually really like this generation of the Camry. It's sophisticated, minimalistic, and clean.

This is one of the best "how to's" I've ever seen, great job👌
Lol he started testing the radio and young thug was playin🤣🤙🏾
lol RIGHT!?
May someone tell where I can purchase this for my 2009 canary please

If there was a volume knob instead of buttons it would be a 10/10 for me
That'd ruin the look of it. There's volume controls on the steering wheel
@@OGKILLa9365 yeah, but theres no quick fast way to lower volume. You can technically quickly mute it, but not lower it.

brah, thats what I'm saying. If its branded a car stereo it needs to have a rotary knob.
@@OGKILLa9365just wondering will this still work if I am using an iPhone? I am mainly after the iphone being able to connect via bluetooth and allow me to play my music, connect to spotify etc. Also how would you rate the sound system?

The shop charges me 50 bucks for installing. After watching your instruction, I decided to take it to the shop to have it done haha thanks bro
Can I take this to any mechanic or I need a specific type???
How much did it cost to buy the radio...I want to know the price
Dude, thanks! I'm actually in the market for a used Camry right now and I was wondering what my options are for upgrading! This unit is amazing!
What year ?get the SE
If you have the JBL system. Make sure the radio comes with JBL harness and CANBUS or your factory amp will not power on = no audio.
yeah i am having the same issue i ordered for my 2009 Camry hybrid an "Android 11 Car Radio Multimedia Video Player GPS Navigation " and turns out harness does not/ fit cause i have an (JBL system) i need find right harness and CAN decoder for JBL, cause i am lost with this ?
Just bought this unit for my wife's 2011 Camry. Just waiting for it to come in. Can't wait t to install.
how has the head unit worked out for you, have you had any issues? did it install easy?
Did it work well?
@@daniellucas6325 sorry didn't see this reply. Easy install. I scratched up the dash skittle bit by the ac vents, but outside if that it works great. Her only complaint is the stock gps in metric and I haven't had the time to try and get that over to imperial.
@@Punicia works great. Wife loves it and it was a easy install. Probably no more than 30 mins if I remember right.
Ive noticed my old comment about bad F.M. reception about these china Androids. I just bought the 10.2 rotational screen about $500.00. And sure did have problems with F.M. reception. But!! FINALLY,FINALLY. I FOUND A GOOD F.M. BOOSTER and a $25.00 F.M. antenna. Works GREAT NOW. But also keep in mind, the "P.T.Y" BUTTON. Keep it OFF. The radio will stop searching for a station. THAT HELPS ALOT!!
What and where did you buy? I would like better FM reception.
Hey! Thanks for this video. Can you give us an update? How is the unit holding up? Any hicups?
You were STOKED!! 😂 I may just take the plunge: since a New Car is not going to happen.
I’ll be playing my 80’s gospel music- while having a GPS. Hopefully the a newer upgrade with a backup camera is available.
My head is spinning!!! Lol
This head unit plain works...! Installed mine last night and didn't really take long.
You did a very nice job on installing that his unit for the Toyota Camry bro I’m thinking about getting me one of those radios I’m looking for one right now thumbs up on your video

does that radio come with a plugs for the back up camera
It does. I can’t get it to work properly though. I get a video feed into the head unit but it won’t auto switch.
Hi John
Been watching a bunch of your videos and finally ordered an android 9.0 Pie head unit (SWTNVIN). The user manual is very small print and hard to read for this 79 year old man. Do you know where we can find a pdf version so if can printout using larger fonts. By the way, our 2011 Camry had some type of head unit that failed. I was having trouble finding the right connections. Finally removed some old adapters and everything started falling in place and got it working. It might have been an Audiovox unit? Thought this might help others as I spun my wheels for a few hours until I figured it out. Had me worried for awhile as it is my wife's car. Keep up the good work. I also want to put in Maps so Cell Connection not needed. Best Regards, Frank
I just purchased a 2007 Toyota Camry XLE with JBL premium from the factory. What system do you recommend? I need Bluetooth and navigation. Everything else I’ll count as heaven sent. Thank you so much for helping this great-grandma.
i have a question can you still se the 2.5mm jack audio and the charging port at the bottom can it be connected if you dont use wifi bluethoot?
Wow thanks for showing this installation.. still looks like a lot of work to diy..
Scary if break the original dash board snap clips 😅. Buy online is cheap but the. Job doesn’t seems easy to me. ❤thanks for sharing
Funny expensive story
I have a older brother who has a Tesla Model S the og 2012 model and my sister was in the car in the front and had some toys she was playing with and one of them was metal or aluminum or something hard and my brother had to slam on the brakes and out of all of the toys the metal one smashed into the screen and shattered it so yeah That touchscreen radio kind of remind me of that
Hi,
Where did you get the dash mat?
Thanks
One of those round rca plugs is for the backup camera. The xle, se, hybrid have the backup camera. No mention of xm radio, either.
Unfortunately you you LOOSE built in XM Radio, but i understand you download the Android App to the main screen and use the XM radio app for that. Which, means you end up using your cell phone as your data antenna. Which sucks, defeats the purpose of having XM Radio. Not all Hybrid's have the back up camera! One of mine simply has a basic JBL stereo with basic screen, not big enough for backup camera. (2010 Camry Hybrid).
We do have a rear camera with Audiovox. I have a 2018 M3 w/75K miles. Wife has a NIRO with better BU warning than my Tesla in Florida. Please try to work with your suppliers for a good solution. It would be very popular. It would be nice to have direct email contact as I am impressed by your rapid response to my comment. I have followed your channel for years. Frank in Michigan for Sumner.
Could you recommend any head units on the lower price range? (that still sit flush and work well for apple CarPlay)
I’ve seen them on eBay for $140. Considering purchasing that one. Looks the exact same.

My moms car looks exactly like this & I was going to buy her a new stero.. There's a JBL logo in the car so does that mean I need a JBL adapter or can I just use this exact stereo from this video? Also what does the jbl amplifier do?
yea
You simply need the JBL harness, you can get on Amazon. If you have the amplifier, it obviously amplifies the sound to your speakers.

Very nice video John, keep up the good work. I have a question, did the sound approve after the installation of the Dasaita head unit and is it also possible to connect a separate amplifier for a subwoofer? I have a Camry hybrid from 2010 with the JBL amplifier, the sound is awful, extreme distortion even at low volumes, only if you reduce the bass untill -5 there is no distortion. I just bought the same Android radio from Ali Express for €450 (quite expensive), do you think the sound will improve? Gracias de antemano 🙏
Hi! Does this unit come with the GPS and wifi screw-ons as well as the mic you installed over the steering wheel column, or were those separate purchases? Great video, thank you!
come together
Thank you for this. I just bought a 2009 model and I’m gonna use this model radio
Did I order and buy it??
What a great video. Im ordering this!! Question. My camry has the jbl system with navigation. Im looking to replace the amp at the same time any ideas or tips.
Reroute signal wire to the new amp. Pretty much taking a speaker wire, splicing it to an AV Male input connector then plug it in to the new amp.
That bolt that u got to loose it up is such a pain in ass I have the right screw but none of its head fits
what is the name of the system?
This is probably my next project i want a bluetooth on my 2010 Toyota Camry
OMG wow i need one for the same exact car! where are u located bc ok if i try to put it on i will mess up 😭
it's easy to do!

I have 2007 Toyota Camry, but has the JBL system.. how to I purchase that cb005 harness??
Great install and demo video. Do you have to purchase a separate harness (CAN-BUS) for the stock JBL amplifier or did it work out of the box with the included harness? Planning on installing on a 2008 Toyota Camry XLE. It has a stock navigation system with a JBL sound system. I’m hoping it will be compatible. Keep the awesome videos coming.
Just by pass the amp, save money better sound and less headache.
Did this work in your car?
Did this work?
@@tylerdisappeared Absolutely. The only thing that didn’t function properly was the fading control for the sound system. Otherwise it worked right out of the box.
@@alvinwycoco7871 I’m confused so my 2009 Camry has the JBL sound system. This would work with it or do I have to pass the amp? I don’t wanna lose sound quality plz help lol
I have a 07 Camry xle with factory JBL audio system. Recently replaced the amplifier. What specifications do I need to install this head unit in my vehicle?
Did you have to order that extra piece due to the jbl amps? I’m a little confused on that.
@johnnguyen great videos man! Thanks for introducing me to these was units. Which Dasaita, Joying etc model would fit into a 2009 Toyota Matrix?
that's amazing and you did a great job installing it while making this video. Thumbs up
I was going to get the joying head unit you suggested but this looks so much nicer
Mr. James it's great to have options
Joying make great units, I have tried the 8 inch and 10 inch universal, The 10 inch has a double screen and because of this the glare is horrible, the 8 inch doesn't have the double screen and was visibly better in regards to the glare, also with polarized glasses the 8 inch was fine could see the screen, the 10 inch I couldn't see the screen whatsoever with polarized glasses, keep that in mind when considering Joying. BTW nice video John.
I see that this is available for a 2006 Toyota Camry however my unit right now has air vents on both sides and this model would cover it up. Could it still work, or no?
Nice unit! I need this for my Solara
So what's the pre out volt number, thats my 110% concern
This company doesn't give the ultimate info on this 10.1 like say Crutfield does like , signal to ratio, pre volt out voltage, frequency response etc...
I bought it 😁. Did you have to buy the Canbus CB005 adapter?
I followed these steps, and now my 2008 Camry does not start. Have to take it to the mechanic tomorrow. DIYs always give me a hard time. Thanks for the nice instructions though.
i would make sure you shift into P for parking then giving the car a nice start.
It was the battery, had to jump start it. That fixed it
Very good tutorial ,and faster my my mechanic put 3 and half hours and not working
You think this would work on the 2011 Camry xle JBL stock radio system? It also has a stock JBL amp under the passenger side. The xle version also has more buttons on the steering wheel. Ac controls. I wanted to change the stock radio as the gps on it is outdated (2011) and takes forever to load the songs through usb.
This deck is about double the price of all the other 9” models. Have you tried anything else within recent years?
Great vid! Just 1 question, are you able to turn off the touch sounds? Like the beeps whenever you select something and change the volume?
Would love to know this too
This is a setting within any android OS, the interface runs on Andriod so I'm certain you'll be able go turn it off.
Hey John I recently tried to buy the 10.1 inch to install in my Cadillac DTS 1009 with the Bose system but the wiring harness is different.what do I have to do so I can I connect to my existing systems . I tried Crutchfield but the can’t guarantee it will work
ah, you would need to wire each wire which isn't as bad as it seems.
Which headunit do you like best? Idoing or Dasaita? I will be using Apple carplay. Thanks for any suggestions. Installing in a 2011 Camry LE.
Where did you get the car stereo? eBay or Amazon? Thanks for your video help a lot

I have a 2009 Camry with phone controls on the right side of the steering wheel and volume on the left. Does this work to answer the phone using the steering wheel controls? And where who can install as good as you?
Excellent video, i put a similar system into my 2005 Mercedes A200 and it really lifts an older car. I am inheriting my Wife's 2010 Camry Hybrid later this year and am looking for a new head unit. It has the high end system form that time, but for the cost of a map update CD on the OEM unit I can buy one of these.
There's another Toyota Camry head unit, the one with 8' screen, has buttons on the side and dvd/CD player slot. Is this unit better? How's the sound compared to the original head unit?
Hi John, is this compatible with an 08 Camry XLE with JBL audio & a Plasmacluster , ie. without the 3 dials for climate control ? I would think it would be. Awesome step by step video.
Fucking jbl ruining lives lol such a pain. Any progress with yours?
Hi, John, You have explained regarding the DVD player, but you did not say regarding the reverse camera. I need to see those guidelines which work with the steering wheel when you are parking the car in the parking bay showing you which side you should turn the steering wheel. Do you still have unit in the car? How is it holding up so far?
Hi John. Have been following your channel for some time now. I am looking to add something to my 2009 Nissan Altima. Given the value of the car I really don't want to add a high end unit and in exchange Ibam not looking for anything with DSP etc (not really an audiophile). I am just looking for something with decent sound, offline navigation, android auto and preferably something which would allow me to add some camera inputs for reverse parking, blind spots / 360 parking etc. Can you recommend a unit?
Did you have any issues with any electrical components after installing this unit? I’m worried that I’ll mess something up in the electronics or cause the battery to die sooner or something lol just supper paranoid to do this to my car
looks dope, any way you tried to install backup camera?
This is awesome but it sort of spoils the original look of the car. If people put in a head unit they should keep the original radio so it can be put back in if a future owner wants it to be original. Modern is good but original is also good.
What's great also is you can go back to stock anytime. Nothing was cut so it's reversible.
So did the controls on the steering wheel work? Like if you wanted to use Bluetooth with ur phone , if you change the track on the steering wheel will it connect to the music from the phone . Bc I know when I have the aux and I’m playing music from my phone , it won’t skip the tracks with the steering whee controls .
