Nice to hear this piece after reading an article on Bach wherein it was mentioned.

The tempo is a little slow for me and the soloist's phrasing seems strange...but I love the string playing, it's superb.

I discovered this wonderful aria listening to the version with Glenn Gould and Russel Oberlin (Oberlin is quite good and a hoot to watch). Then I came to prefer the astounding preformance by Andreas Scholl. At first I thought the current performance was a bit too slow but Lesne is an equally astounding countertenor. J.S. Bach really did seem to have a hard time composing anything didn't turn out to be a stunning masterpiece.

If you are going to show us the printed music why not show us ALL the parts, at
least the vocal part with the keyboard reduction for the whole piece, and better a full score with modern voice clefs, that would be the best, like from an old Eulenberg or Phiharmonia score in the Public Domain. This is particularly bad for the closing aria of this Cantata as it is a three voice fugue.
