- Excursion Sunday at Burkhalter’s Union Station!
There’s so much hardware on the layout because a good friend’s son is both a rail and channel fan, so I pulled out all the stops and put on a show :). It was a fun challenge preventing collisions, but the result was a gorgeous run with a lot of trains. I had tried to startup the New Haven #1111, and that was when I discovered the limit of power on my Lionel 180 watt power supply. It seems all four engines, with smoke units, and all those incandescent bulbs in the passenger cars exceeded the limits of what the 180w brick is capable of on its own.

Beautiful collection of passenger cars...all you need now is a few Amtrak passenger cars and maybe some subway cars...really nice.
Stay tuned! I have a collection of super liners and I plan on putting them together with the Genesis! I also have a Lionel EP-5 and will be pairing the New Haven cars with them in another feature 😊.
