I have a 2.0 and it was the exact same process. I even have hydraulic steering and the pump in the way, i couldnt get leverage for the tension bolt from the top, so i went in thru the wheel well to put belt on correctly in the bottom and got better leverage on the bolt while a friend slipped it over the pulley, only 3 10 mm screws for the cover after u get rhe wheel off If you have trouble dislodging the alternator use a heavy hammer and a pry bar, place firmly on metal shell and give a couple solid whacks towards the rear, it should start pushing backwards and you can see the screw holes move, now that its loose, go to the backside and give it a couple whacks forward, when it fell mine was stuck at the bottom too, but used a pry bar to wedge in, hammer and pull it up, keep working it, itll come. Shops dont care about marring on the shell, they just want the core copper, but only leverage on the bracket You dont need to take radiator hose mount off, thats the only step i found skipable in this whole video. The 2 radiator mount screws are very easy to drop into the abyss 😂 i lost one so be careful If the serpentine belt slips off everywhere like mine did 🤦 dont worry 😁 its a lot easier to put back on that it seems, just follow each loop on the diagram he provides towards the end of the video.. I paused and took a screenshot of it so I could leave it up while working on it, belt kept getting pinched in the back, so i slipped it over the top silver pulley under steering pump, easy once i had proper tension Once I installed the new alternator I fully charged my battery I went to start it and the car died, I'm guessing my alternator sucked up all the juice, so I put a jumper pack on it, started and drove it around, it died twice at stop lights but started right back up on its own, now seems to be running fine and charged after running around, so if you feel like you're struggling to hold a charge in the beginning like me, don't worry, it'll build up, get on that instate for a couple exits 👌 Also when I took my alternator out I had it tested at the shop and then I bought my remanufactured one & I also had it tested before I installed it, ALWAYS test for free at parts store before installing, my last one was no good and had to remove and reinstall so i learned the hard way If the alternator is still in the car and you're not sure this is your problem the parts store will test the battery and starter for free, then you know to pull and have them test the alternator 👍 Just follow the video, step for step and he'll get ya there 🤟

This is the worst design I have EVER seen in a car, there is less than 3” of clearance between these bolts and the wheel well, there is NO space for ANY tools.
