Strings By Mail - Tension Device Experiment #1

In this first experiment with Strings By Mail’s patented Instrument Emulating String Tension Measuring Device we will demonstrate the impact of different instrument scale lengths on strings tension
While most players are aware that scale length will change tension, we demonstrate literally how that occurs and any proportionality it may involve. This is one of many important factors in a player's experience with their instrument and their playing.

I think an explanation from your luthier about how examples of guitars might benefit from different tensions might be very helpful for some customers, including the reason why most new brands of strings seem to sound better the first tome you try them etc...

I play short scale (630mm) classical & steel acoustic (620mm) guitars. I use light gauge (11's) on my acoustic steel and high tension fluorocarbon on my classicals, ends up being about the same playability on both🎵🎶🤗
