I'm from Denmark, and I was a bit into psy trance (but mostly cheesy euro trance 😆) in the mid to late 00's. But haven't really been much into trance since then. Only a few tracks here and there that have cought me.
But I was at the danish festival 'Distortion' (Ø) last friday, were the best music a couple friends and I could find this year, was at a small forest psy trance "stage" slightly hidden between some trees. And that was a quite fun and vibey experience. Not unfamiliar with the type of sounds of course 😊
But I didn't know that forest is a very scandinavian thing. Like 'Parvati Records' (which I just discovered) for instance, which is a danish label. Quite interesting actually 🤔
And interesting what you said about the flow of the music, because it actually reminded me a lot of being at a small underground techno party 😄

I think the main thing in forest sound is specific open space reverberation and plenty of echo on instruments. Good example is Archaic - Tuvan sky.
That whole album is great. My favorite is Hazelnut Twig.
