I think the point about the hammer is that itis not generally best practice to use a metal hammer on a metal tool the mushrooming head is a bit of a giveaway. Any big box store will have a number of relatively cheap plastic coated dead blow hammers. Less noise, kinder on your tools and on your wrists over the years

Absolute agreed. Unfortunately I didn't find plastic hammers comfortable and practical as many artisans describe. Both have pros and cons.

I intend to buy your pattern to make a bag like this but please tell me what kind of leather do you use (thickness and kind) and how do you ensure the waterproofness of the bag. It will be exposed to all weather conditions so it needs a good well-condition and effectively waterproof maintain.

Hi !
Leather weight (thickness) is given in the pattern file on all the parts. I used Chrome tanned leather for the body and Veg tanned leather on the sides. You can decide for yourself, whether you want to make the bag waterproof of not. I would recommend to simply apply beeswax + olive oil 2:1, to the ready item. Make sure to cover all of the surface and stitches.
