  • Who doesn't love some great asmr book tapping and scratching?
In today's video, I have grouped together and picked out a few novels that are shorter than 160 pages, that you could read this summer! I know it is sometimes difficult to pick up a long book and feel motivated to follow it through, so I hope this list can help you. This video includes the books Ms Ice Sandwich by Mieko Kawakami, Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag, The Hole by Hiroko Oyamada, Untold Night and Day by Bae Suah. Include a range of translated fiction from the Japanese, Kannada, and Korean. A lot of these books are odd and experimental, with interesting atmosphere's and experiences. With this collection of great, short recommendations, join me in listening to the lovely and satisfying sounds each cover makes. This is a great video to put on, sit back to, and relax - as it is enjoyable, calming and tingly ✰
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed 🤍

They sounds interesting. I read Breasts and eggs by Kawakami and I liked it. People often search for
a meaning into books or other artistic expressions so maybe some books are considered odd because apparently nothing happened. Thanks for the video 🌸

Ooh, I am think of reading that Kawakami book, I just need to find the right time to pick it up! As it's longer than her other books, I want to really sit down and absorb it haha.
That's true! Maybe the books being odd are the point - in the sense that they're different and make you confused and interested. I like how they keep me engage and can surprise me, so that is true. Rather than finding deeper meaning, it could be the reaction itself that is the point. An interesting thought! :)

I was reading Heaven but I stopped because I'm afraid something bad will happen, I think I need to find courage to finish it 🙀

@@verobivy Yeah, Heaven is a bit heavy throughout. If you need some reassurance, nothing extremely bad happens near the end, so you don't have to worry too much 🩷 the events are still not the most pleasant, but it isn't the worse. I hope that help give you some courage to finish it. Let me know your thoughts afterwards! :)

Thank you for your recommendations 🩷 I also enjoy books with "no plot just vibes" or a "dreamlike atmosphere", especially from japanese authors

Thank you for your lovely comments! 🩷 there's something so relaxing about getting immersed in a "no plot just vibes" book that doesn't compare. I think it's because they appreciate the small moment or the small things, and it feels very slice of life. I like the observations they make and the things they notice, which feel very lovely :)

@@margofloat25 Ooh how exciting! I haven't read any romances lately, but I have heard of that book. I've not read many thrillers or mysteries, so maybe I should explore that too! Do you have any recommendations? :) I hope you enjoy your reading this summer

yum, that sounds goods! I know exactly what you mean, where it sounds like teeny tinny little patters, that are soft, lovely, and melt in your mouth. it sounds so cute, I love that description!
I don't know much about him or his other works (I'm not sure if he has many translated into English) , but this one was a little gem that I found :))
