Digital art sucks. it’s not real art
This is my guess for the context of this painting based on what I know so far: Haejin is immortal/doesn't age (I think) and since she's wearing more traditional clothing and is bloody, I'm guessing this is where she 'dies' in her first life and becomes immortal, sort of like a vampire getting bitten? Also, the emotion her face gives me is almost apathy, or relief, it reminds me of a story where a woman who wanted to die liked to watch the moon.
Regardless, this is a beautiful piece anyway and the emotion behind it is so powerful and layered, I just that this moment in the story is going to be so good - I'm so excited to see what happens!

How did you approach the scarring/blood? Do you focus on a texture brush that suits what you're looking for, or did you study some scars etc for references? You've captured macabre beauty incredibly!

The “flower sprouting out of eye or other body part” is such a specific body horror trope that you don’t see it very often, but I love it whenever I do because it’s so RAW 👍

I feel like when ppl say your art is detailed. I think they mean it has a dimension to it. Like it doesn’t fully feel like a 2D image, there’s roundness and volume to it that they didn’t expect.
But I do think your art is a little more detail than you give credit. There’s a lot of artistic with comic book-like/anime style but they’re process is just block colors… maybe a multiply layer(there’s nothing wrong with that! These styles are also amazing, it’s inspiring how they master the art of simplicity/subtlety)
But hopefully that gives you an idea of what those comments might’ve meant.

No, up angles are some sorta devil. I hate em and have to draw them incessantly to get em right. Your art is very detailed, maybe it's something you don't realize because you have such a down-pat method for art. It looks beautiful.
