  • Welcome to a whole new series of raising pigs on a smallholding. We are taking you through the whole process starting with this week's episode of picking them up and bringing them home. We raise animals for meat on the smallholding and the most important part of this for us is ensuring the pigs are happy and healthy.
For movement forms in the UK we use this link: www.eaml2.org....

I named my pigs Ham-ilton and Bacon, just so the family doesn’t forget their purpose on our farm. 😁
I think we’re going to get more this autumn.
    Thanks for sharing!

Did you make a video about how to start? Find a land, regulation to rise pigs and sheep in uk?

Hi! No, we just covered our situation as everyone is different. We’ve covered finding our land (home) in a recent Q and A video and I think I mention about the required movement forms for pigs in this video. Hope you find out what you’re looking for 😀

Thanks for the info, will be getting a few piglets to clear some land, I have my licence to house, it was the transport bit that I couldn’t get an answer so that’s sorted.

Nice to finally meet the pigs! They seem happy & healthy enough. Be interesting to watch them progress outside (if the spring eventually gets here! Lol) Take care 🙂

I can’t wait to see them enjoying outside and a bit of sun on their backs, on ours too for that matter! I don’t want to wish our lives away but roll on warmer weather 😂
Hope you’re well Kim and take care too x Tracy ☺️

Hi I’m new to your channel watched few of your videos and really like your lifestyle on smallholding, one question I have is how much does it cost to rase pig in food ? Also do they need feeding 2 times a day or only one time ?
    Many thanks

Hi there. Welcome and thank you! We haven’t worked out the costs for the full 6/7 months but they’re easily on a bag of feed each a week in the last few months. They need feeding twice a day and constant fresh water. Hope this helps. We do intend on capturing the costs this year, just need to get organised with it!

thank you, it would be good video if you could make one on up keeping cost and general work around them, pros and cons, all the best and thanks again @@OurSmallholdingAdventure
