Duade, I have spent most of my life presenting and I have to say that yours is one of the best-prepared and presented ones I have seen. You have a great relaxed style, but that is one that can afford to be because you have done the prep work to make the show flow along. Many, many kudos!
Thanks Trevor, you are too kind, I am fortunate that I have had the opportunity to present to groups as part of my employment so over time it has got easier. Cheers, Duade
Thank you, Jan! The 'Bump' method is golden! It describes perfectly so many examples of being too eager to get the shot. Tracking too early for too long, and by the time the shot is perfect, the focal plain is drawn to the background. It is the most common and frustrating experience, watching the money shot dissappear through my open left eye as the viewfinder catches a perfectly focused branch or wave in the background! Practice time!🤩
Thanks! Hi Again. There were a number of very useful tips in your presentation about Lightroom. Creating masks based on color range is a big help to me.
What a fine presentation. This is a polished delivery anyone can be quite proud of. No waste or filler, just non-stop useful information and explanation. I see respect for the audience and no ego getting in the way of it all. My respect for you has increased with this video. I am glad I subscribed to your channel, Duade. Cheers. Oh, I learned a bunch, too. Thanks.
Dear Duade there is a reason why you’ve survived after all - now you have at least 50000 people that you’re inspiring and never the less make happy ! That is so wonderful 🥹👏 Also your demonstration was such a joy fluent, pleasant, very informative and structured congratulation for being so professional already! But everyone can see how much you like to share your knowledge not like others on UA-cam that want just celebrate themselves and keep most of their knowledge at the end…please stay healthy stay positive enjoy life and bird photography and stream your love and passion to all of us in the world watching your “ bird tv shows” 👌😇☺️
Great presentation. You have a knack for teaching. Thank you for explaining without being so technical that it’s difficult to follow. You are an inspiration!

I want to thank you for your valuable lessons which atleast comes free. You are doing great job duade, and your humble self inspires me. Arijit,India
Great presentation Duade :) My favourite image Is of a Kea I underexposed by over 2.5 stops. We were on a drive around holiday of NZ’s South Island but due to scheduling I only had half a day in the alps and it happened to coincide with a massive storm. Luckily a lone Kea still came out in the weather but it was so dark and I so excited that I completely stuffed up. Post processing helped me save one of the images and it still looks great to me.
Another excellent down to earth video. Had a laugh watching another self proclaimed 'expert" - and YOU to will be able to take shots like ME. Such a contrast to your modesty.
That’s the best post processing session that I’ve seen. What’s wonderful is that you have a defined process that helps the flow seamlessly. Thanks for sharing your experiences to the world.
Duade, you sir are an amazing talent. You explain things that even we Americans can understand lol. Best bird/wildlife/camera gear channel hands down! Great work as usual! Cheers!
Was fabulous to learn from you in person at this conference. Thankyou so much for sharing your experience and knowledge with good humour and friendly professionalism. You had me at “bird on a stick”!
@@Duade Thanks, sir! I'm always afraid to use Lightroom. That's why I only use presets. but after watching your presentation, I'm trying new things that I learned. Probably the masking part is my favorite.
Sir, So glad I came across your video presentation. Truly masterful behind both the camera & computer. I look forward to your future videos. Special thanks from the U.S.

I liked your honesty and simple step by step approach. Well chosen examples that use raw files not too far above those of the average enthusiast so we mortals can still relate. Your images then draw viewers into the possibilities rather than isolating them by using once in a lifetime shots. Inspiring, thanks
Awesome as always, Duade! I learned about how important white balance is in regards to color. Never realized that before tonight. Thanks for helping us amateurs to keep improving.
Duade, Lightroom scares me and I know it is something I need to have a fuller understanding of in order to process the photos that I want. Thanks for sharing this video. You made the process seem effortless but I know there are many hurdles to work through to get what is pleasing to your own eye. I truly like the way you compose shots and I feel that I have much to learn from you and your channel does that for me.

Thanks Roger, that is great to hear, I am glad the videos help. Lightroom is a very good piece of software and I am looking at creating a beginner course in the future. Cheers, Duade
Good presentation, although you didn’t mention anything I didn’t know. Maybe because I’ve been a computer junkie since 1979 and a photographer since 1968! Also helped that I taught for 36 years. I remember a colleague telling me years ago that there was this “new thing” called UA-cam & I should get into it. Why didn’t I listen to him?!? I use Lightroom, Photoshop, ON1 Photo Raw, Luminar AI & Neo, all Topaz software and the Nik collection. Cheers.
Wow! Thanks for sharing all that Duade, I got a lot out of that video as I'm new to Lightroom. Having said that, I can't remember one of your videos where I haven't learnt something. Teaching looks like it comes naturally to you. Cheers.
Excellent presentation! (fyi, watched it the third times this morning lol!). I was out of town for a week and watching it on an ipad, & it was not enough! had to rewatch it on a bigger screen at home. Time worth spending is all i can say. Thanks Duade! cheers.
More quality content - Thanks, Duade! It was interesting & informative to get to see your Bird Life talk. Appreciate the chance & thanks for posting. I don't use lightroom myself, but it was good to see a little more of the items you focus on in processing & found it helpful. Nicely done on the presentation & for sharing it here. Also, caught your bird burger chat & enjoyed that as well - great seeing you get more even more exposure. Thought you made several important points during your conversation. Anyway, good shooting & hope the R7 arrives soon ~ Best regards, Chris
With one of the first topics about personal style, i've been finding my own style starting coming through the more I progress with photography. When I first started I was only walking away with at best 1 good photo, so that's all I had to choose from. But now I find myself more dedicated to an individual species each session resulting in multiple good shots of the same species with different compositions. Now i'm just choosing which ones stand out to me and skipping right past images that other people may possibly like.
Your presentation is so clear, and you have a such an easy, pleasant style. I can listen to you for hours. I am fully persuaded on the importance of processing now. Thank you.
An excellent presentation Duade. When I previously posted bird images to Flickr I would sometimes first check my final lightroom processed image to published images from reputable sources to ensure I had done the bird's plumage colour justice (a good example is the Eastern Rosella that I see around my house and area where my processed and posted image appeared way too colourful). So I tried to balance making the image pop but also remaining true to the bird... or was I too old fashioned perhaps. Cheers.
Thanks Mike, processing is so subjective, and light changes the colour a lot, I think the best bet is try to recreate what you saw in the field. Cheers, Duade
Great presentation! One of my favorite things about your birding video style is always briefly showing the RAW image fade into the final image. I really wish you would come out to Florida as there's all kinds of great birding locations here but would be a significant journey from down under.
Thank you for having the opportunity to watch your presentation. It will help me a lot. I think that one of your most important messages aside from your great introduction into your workflow is: Do it for yourself. Nowadays the drag into competition on social media is very high and it can be hard to get out again once you are in. However, it is also a great opportunity to get in touch with others, get inspiration and a bit of enthusiasm. I am looking forward to see more of your lessons. For as long as you enjoy it. 📷🪶
Thanks, yes totally agree, if you can separate the competition aspect of social media and get inspiration and ideas that is great. I just found I started taking photos for the likes and started to not enjoy the process. At the moment I am happy just taking photos and putting on my website, but I may share again one day. Cheers, Duade

One of the best video i ever watched on ur channel. Thanks for the wonderful session . Learnt so many things from your work . Really liked ur video. Thanks for the video.
Wonderful presentation and great insight on your digital work flow in Lightroom. Until now I always use lightroom as a catalogue and use photoshop as my editor but after watching this presentation I might switch to lightroom for editing my images in the near future. You live in a great area with a lot of beautiful birds, must be wonderful to have so much great birds to photograph. I really like bird photography but here in the Netherlands it is not that great but still giving a lot of fun.
Thanks Harald, I do my RAW conversion in Lightroom and use Photoshop to remove branches or make specific adjustments as required. They work well together, Cheers, Duade
I did enjoy that - picked up a little bit more in the post processing space. I don't tend to do much with that, mainly a time thing. But even just knowing some of those sliders and tools etc. The apple photo programme I do have, seems to be able to do a lot of the basics - except import raw files! Hahahah. Never mind. Maybe one it might. For now, it's no issue. Thanks so much Duade for sharing your flow in processing. I didn't I was gonna enjoy it much, but I did.
Hallo Duade, awsome presentation. Thank you for sharing. I understand each of your processing steps. The only thing I was missing was the sharpening. Don‘t you use the sharpening tool in LR. Again thanks a lot, will follow from now on. Stefan from Berlin, Germany
Stefan, sorry, yes I missed that, try sharpening to 40 and hold down the ALT key and drag the masking to the right until just the subject is white. Cheers, Duade

Thanks Phil, I appreciate the feedback, Cheers, Duade 👍
Thanks Denise, glad it was enjoyable, Cheers, Duade

Hallo Duade, awsome presentation. Thank you for sharing.
I understand each of your processing steps. The only thing I was missing was the sharpening.
Don‘t you use the sharpening tool in LR.
Again thanks a lot, will follow from now on.
Stefan from Berlin, Germany
Stefan, sorry, yes I missed that, try sharpening to 40 and hold down the ALT key and drag the masking to the right until just the subject is white. Cheers, Duade
