I am Australian 5th generation and she deserved to win because she was in a class of her own.I do not care what country they originate from,if they have the talent to perform like Dami then I will vote for them.So glad you won Dami.

At their very least Singapore has very little racism so it breaks my heart to see dami being trashed.badly. regardless of race , language and citizen, we shld not do this to dami. Saw her two nights ago in concert - at the end of a long Australian regional tour. She was tired at the meet-n-greet prior to the concert. Then she came out on stage for her performance filled to the brim with energy and just blew everyone away. She is a great performer and thoroughly deserves her success. She has worked so hard at her craft. She is so humble and charming. Thoroughly deserving of everything she has achieved. And her husband is a charmer as well. Such a cute couple. So proud that she is an Aussie!!!!

However I'm not a pro by no means and I think everyone is entitled to his/her opinion and it's all about what a performance gives to you.
I've never heard either Charise or Jessica Sanchez in my life. Till today. I heard their versions of this song and still I love Dami's a lot more, by miles. She gives me more and judging by the comments is not everyones opinion (thank God we are different from one another!). The other two failed to me something other than an outstanding-amazing-don't-touch-it technique, but nothing more than that!

She idolizes Crayon Pop and I had to check it out. Not my kind of music or entertainment but they were a fun group to watch. Why not, huh?

That's the most retarded argument I've ever heard. The US still exports more talent internationally than any other country. It has been for decades. Surely that says something about it's eye for buy-appeal. It isn't insular. It's proven... in the music charts. Look at the number of exports we have compared to the occasional few number of imports. It's exponentially in our favor. For every ten American artists with success in UK, European, Asian, and Latin markets there's like maybe one -usually none- having success in the US from that same country. Right now we have mostly English people crossing over to the US, successfully. Two years ago there was one from Asia (PSY), and one from Norway (Ylvis). That's it. The other two were British which were Adele and One Direction. Compare that over the years to how many American stars continue to be HUGE across the Atlantic. Old and new alike. From Madonna, to Whitney (RIP), to Mariah, to NSync, to Kelly Clarkson, to Aerosmith, to Britney Spears, to Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Destiny's Child, Pink, Prince, Christina Aguilera, all the way to Miley Cyrus. And that's just off the top of my head. There's no comparison.
plutorama No you didn't understand what I said. And you're wrong. Reason why for 10 US pop artists there 1 or no foreign artist being successful in US soil is BECAUSE US AUDIENCE are INSULAR. Most US audience do not listen or watch anything with foreign language.
Psy and Yivis were a phenomenon. There are tons of more talented and variety of artists outside US besides them but it's not easy to get US audience to listen to them.
US has one of the most hipster culture attitude towards pop culture. You DISS something in order to be COOL. Especially foreign contents that majority of US audience do not understand.
Foreign audience on the other hand is much more accepting to contents from other culture. US simply has the biggest and most well established pop INDUSTRY around. That's why there have been many internationally successful artists NOT NECESSARILY because THEY WERE BETTER than Foreign artists.

***** Big difference compared with Dami though she has a different tone and can sing some of the smoothest high notes I've heard, especially with her Saving All My Love For You performance. Dami's studio recorded version of Hero is better then Mariah's for me as she sings it with more energy and passion.

Dami Im ... amazing!! Dannii threw everything at her, including the kitchen sink, and she pulled off everything!!! Most songs she never heard before, had to lean the lyrics, and English is her 2nd language. Amazing!!! Still can't believe she was CUT.... then brought back.. .To WIN!!!!
