This was when I fell in love with the beautiful P.P.Arnold. Their other big hits were "Lazy Sunday" and "Itchcoo Park". When singer\guitarist Steve Marriott left he was replaced by Rod Stewart & Ronnie Wood and they became Faces. P.P. used to be one of the Ikettes (Ike & Tina Turners back up singers ) and when they toured England she stayed and became a huge star. She still tours today.
Thank you for this reaction! I love The Small Faces! They were a Mod band from England in the sixties, friendly rivals with The Who. In fact, the drummer, Kenny Jones, actually joined The Who when Keith Moon died. Back then, no one in England had as soulful a voice as Steve Marriott! Some of my favorite songs of theirs are, "Itchycoo Park", "What Ya Gonna Do About It", "Lazy Sunday", "All Or Nothing", "Afterglow" and "My Way Of Giving". In 1969, Marriott left and the rest of the band carried on, recruiting Rod Stewart as the new singer and Ronnie Wood as the new guitarist, when they became simply, The Faces! Steve Marriott joined forces with Peter Frampton and formed Humble Pie. Some of Marriott's hits with the Pie included "Thirty Days in the Hole", "Black Coffee" and "I Don't Need No Doctor" (all of these songs are worth checking out The beautiful lady singing with them is Ms. P.P. Arnold! She's had quite a few hits of her own, her most well known song being, "The First Cut is the Deepest". A few months ago I was fortunate enough to sit in on a Zoom Chat with her. She's absolutely wonderful to talk to and she delightedly discussed her memories from throughout the years singing with The Ikettes, Tina Turner, Nick Drake and The Small Faces. She's still making records of her own, still touring through Europe, still has a great voice and loving life!
Steve Marriott left Small Faces and formed the very successful band Humble Pie with Peter Frampton, who left after two albums and enjoyed a very successful solo career. Steve made life difficult for himself and died in a tragic house fire in the early 1990s. He was a great singer and a rockin' guitarist. I love all of his work. "Itchycoo Park" was one of my first favorite songs.
I love to see young people react to our older generation music. The Faces were big when i was your age- & I'm 70 now. We really did have great bands & music in the 60's 70's & 80's. 😊
Steve Marriott was a legend, the backing singer was PP Arnold who came over to the UK with Tina Turner. She had a number of hits herself. She also backed the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. The Small Faces eventually morphed into The Faces with Rod Stewart Steve Marriott left and formed Humble Pie with Peter Frampton. The Faces also had Ronnie Wood who left and joined the Rolling Stones. Steve Marriott was a brilliant and underrated Musician, he died in 1991 RIP Steve Marriott!
I consider this a kind of groundbreaking song , one of my all time favorite songs. Steve Marriot was a great singer with a special kind of energy. Itchycoo Park is also a good song.
'The Small Faces ' were a Mod band. And in Mod parlance a 'Face' was some one who stood out in a crowd. The small is pretty obvious - they were all under 5' 6".
If you enjoy seeing a "sister" up there check out the official video of Jack White - Love Interruption. She not only sings but also plays guitar. You'll be shocked by the lyrics

Steve Marriott was one of the greatest rock singers of all time. What a voice.

I love this group!❤

Steve Marriott, one of the best voices of the 60s. He would have bettered any group's vocals.
The best real mod band.
Check / all or nothing - amazing. Paul Weller based a lot of his style on Steve Marriott
Great reaction

If you like Steve’s voice you have to react to him singing Black Coffee when he was in Humble Pie
Small Faces was not big in the US, but once they acquired Rod Stewart ... Rod Stewart and Faces became a hit.

The only song by Small Faces to do is their one and only hit (and it's a good one) -- Itchycoo Park.
Never heard of them or this song. 👍
Me either. I honestly thought the song was One Tin Soldier.
@@JulieConkle, that’s a different song, don’t know who sings it though
