  • Why do we forget? This video explores an explanation of forgetting called retrieval failure. Retrieval failure is part of the memory topic on the AQA psychology A-level specification.
Retrieval failure includes context dependent forgetting and state dependent forgetting. In this video we explore each type including examples and research for both.

Honestly, with the amount of Effort you put into the videos, I've been watching since. It's crazy how UA-cam doesn't recommend your videos and puts them at the top when someone searches for a-level biology

@@BearitinMIND I take notes from your videos and memorise them. The format and the test yourself at the end are super cool they really help me stay focused in the video. Most other channels are soooooo boring and I just dont remember much from their videos.
I literally dont do any other revision apart from watching your videos (but will start once mocks come ill do like exam paper questions)
Please dont stop making videos they are the best!

@mph3923 Such a helpful reply - thanks. Glad to hear the test yourself part at the end was useful. Wasn't sure whether to continue including them in videos. More Memory videos coming soon, and then hoping to cover Attachment.

Any other ideas for why we forget? Any bad advice and tips you've heard on how to remember? Let us know in the comments below!
Also, for those who care about such things - there's a TYPO - the study by Carter & Cassaday (1998) is spelt CassadAy (I missed the 'A" out in the video).
