Man i wore this cassette out back in my old chunky yellow sport Walkman. At the time I was maybe 18 and into conscious rap, art and psychedelics. That they bridged Beatles and hip hop long before anyone else was special to me- and they always had their own lane despite another favorite of mine at the time (krs) assaulting them live on stage and the cold shoulder the rest of hip hop showed at that time. A viral event long before social media. big up to KRS for later admitting he was out of pocket and wrong. I’m not a fan of a lot of current drake era rappers but there’s definitely a healthy dose of PM Dawn in the more emo-esque artists of now. Just look a Post Malone - dude definitely got a dose of the Bliss.
I'm shocked to see a video for it. Never knew they made a video for it. I had the original album and I listened to this song so much that my cassette player must have gotten tired of me playing it.
Wow man I been listening to this forr many many years when I was a truck driver on the freeway. I never knew there was a video of this. A hidden album never before seen videos popping up. These guys not only creative but they got a lot of work done.
@@CTechAstronomy oh yes!! they were not easily packaged by their label because they were so ingeniously eclectic ,so very few really got into how talented they where. He possibly wrote one of the greatest love songs of all time. "IE; Id die without you."
I believe that P.M. Dawn would have been more appreciated (and perhaps more successful) had they not been labeled as a Hip Hop group, even though that's how they got into the business. Prince Be was CLEARLY more than just Hip Hop. He was an artist. Most of P.M. Dawn's music was about love, transcendental thoughts and streams of consciousness. What rapper covers a Beatles song so elequently (No disrespect to rappers)? Sadly, they weren't appreciated for the artists they were and the art they created. RIP Prince Be.
I never knew there was a video for this song as well. I searched for it just now expecting to hear the audio as it was one of my favourite songs back in the days.
Did this even get released as a single? It probably would have been a big hit. Being a Beatles song and featuring all the apple imagery in the video seems like a shoe in. A missed opportunity I think, but that second album of theirs had so many great songs, it was hard choosing singles most likely. RIP Prince Be.
I study loneliness daily & learn nothing. I remember! Set Adrift on Memories Bliss. Such a great song. So true about not getting the well deserved recognition.

I think is a one of the best Beatles's covers
I was so bumm3ed Prince "B" died...these guys have always been one of my all-time fave bands... never got the fame and recognition they deserved...
massively underrated. i play them in my car, almost every day still :)
Bro. They were ok. They cant sing for shit. Milli vanillii

The label cancelled the release because they felt that the group had enough videos out for the album.

Aftet 28 years till date, still awesome, only few know this one.
I was today [01 July 2024] years old when I found out that there was a music video for this song. How did I not see this back in the day?

Innovation at it's finest
This is amazing. Perfect balance between faithfulness to the original & making it their own.
I've been an ADDICT of them since they 1st started. Phenominal Duo!!
He possibly wrote one of the greatest love songs of all time. "IE; Id die without you."
The sampling genius of this group is phenomenal. Makes me sad they didn't get the acclaim they deserve.
Yes they were good
I guess thei did, but not for the songs they really deserved it for. For instance, Jesus Wept must be one of the most underrated albums in history.
Check the album Jesus Wept. It was like they knew the recipe and they kept with it. They're wayy slept on RIP Prince Be
Agreed
Great observation and so true!!!
RIP Prince B, one of my Fav vocalist and one of many greats that died in that horrible year of 2016... Set Adrift and Paper Doll are my fave tracks!
Imagine, I never saw this vid. Three Decades! I had this on cassette. Thanks to the internet and UA-cam.
this is one of those songs that you rediscover 2 decades later after hearing it as a kid, and realize that magic really exists in music.
CLASSIC."""" BEATLES magic, re - worked by P.M. DAWN. 😇 RIP 🙏
Nice remake of the Beatles song. These guys were talented

Loved this song didn't know it's by the Beatles at that time
Possibly the best opening line ever..
the glorious era before Hip-Hop went completely egocentric.
I remember pm Dawn didn't know they covered this

PM Dawn also covered Put the Lime in the Coconut.
they also sampled 'True" by Spandau Ballet and made a huge quality hit with it. Many missed their Genius'.

I thought it was a good cover...and it could very well introduce people to the Beatles who aren't familiar with their music...just a thought.
