The Police RENEWED - Shadows In The Rain (FYYC's Extended Remix & Special Video)

- Okay you guys, I woke up in my clothes again this morning, but here it is, a remix of Shadows in the Rain! Took me a rather long time to get things right, but now I am really pleased with it. A version which The Police could have recorded, but never did :-) Really hope you enjoy it. If you do, please leave a short message! If you don’t, don’t hesitate to comment also. Love to read any comments!
What I really disliked from the Zenyatta studio-version was Andy’s contribution. Guess he was the weakest link on this song, cause he filled the guitar parts in a rather cheapy way. Maybe a good example of the (too) short time they took back in the days to record this song at the Wisseloord Studio’s in Hilversum (Netherlands). But then again, surprise surprise, it was also Andy who delivered on stage the most creative new contribution to this song, when playing it live. A real pitty they didn’t record those guitar parts in the studio version. So I especially tried to freshen up the old song with brighter guitar parts. Only the (also live introduced) 'reggae rhythm' I downsized a bit, to get a smoother tune.
Don’t be deceived by the live video footage, what you hear is (almost) never what you see. The video is only made to support the audio remix. All footage used is around on the internet. Many concert video shards are involved. In addition I used and reworked a considerable part of a beautiful video by Mr. Poliritmia, originally made to support the studio version of SITR. This guy really makes some incredible video-art! Check out his work on / mrpoliritmia . With The Police, and especially Sting in fact, persisting in their refusal (or rather fear, I think) to make that new material that everyone is really waiting for, we - the loyal fans - have to get the job done. So take a moment for this refreshed version of ‘Shadows in the Rain’.
And in the end - of course - this all is for a much greater cause. If our protagonist(s) will ever read this: come on guys, and especially mister Sting, the years are starting to count seriously, so surprise the world, break the myth about The Police as a closed legend, visit your old friends, and do what lots worldwide don't expect, but are really waiting for: MAKE THAT DAMN SIXTH POLICE ALBUM!

I met the police with Zeniatta mondatta., Which I consider a fantastic record. Many critics (?) Consider it the worst, the most hasty. But even in this case the genius of the three musicians comes out pure and crystalline, perhaps even better than in their more "thought-out" works. Beautiful remix. I believe that whoever did it was their soul ... Still alive?
This is one of my top Police songs and this remix did not disappoint.

Hi my friend. I really want to thank you for these jobs you make available. They are truly beautiful and very interesting creations to listen to. They are never the usual stupid remixes, but they always remain faithful to the original with a perfect and never annoying assemblage of sounds and voices. I'm a Police Sound "purist" but listening to you is like being in the studio with the three cops. Thanks again from Italy. I wish you the best!
Ciao Maurizio, thank you for your kind comment. That's exactly what I try to achieve; a Police-like variation or even maybe improvement of the old material. Nevertheless: it would be best if they tried it themselves! 😉

I hope Sting realizes that the world expects a new Police album! Stewart & Andy are always ready but Sting isn't!!!
I disagree. The Police was a bit of musical 'magic' that largely occurred between 1978-1982, ie inc. the recording of Synchronicity. A shooting star that had burnt-out in dramatic fashion by 1984.
The Reunion tour of 2007/08 was, by comparison, a poor imitation where the music had become too Sting-ified IMHO - and I say that from having witnessed it firsthand from Row 3 at the Twickenham, London gig (when Trudie etc were in Row 6 immediately behind me!).
Hence why these 're-imaginings' by FYYC using the original masters - with a dash of other materials - are so magical in recapturing the feel from 1978-1982 that nothng or no one else has been able to.....perhaps with the exception of Stewart with his De-arrangements.
@@markcoomber8222 I do appreciate your comments but Police fans prefer the other 2 guys as that magic was on a different level which had a surprise element and Sting ventured into something that was not the expectations of a Police fan but some of his solo albums reminded us of these other two guys as we could only imagine them still working together. I think Andy and Stewart would still want to record along with Sting but as you said, Sting still has his own way!

@@markcoomber8222 I resisted the reunion tour ( alright I couldnt afford the tickets 😂) but saw them in 1983 on the Syncronicity tour and to be honest when the reunion tour DVD came out I'm glad I didnt see them on it .
In my opinion the spark / energy wasnt there , I'll keep my memories of a sweaty gig being pushed from pillar to post .
Record new stuff ? too late in my opinion , Stingo didnt want to and that's where all the fighting occurred in the studio , now they are too old .
