Thanks for the shout out. Finally I've been mentioned by a clone! I enjoy the editing as always :)
+Aquarium Co-Op your welcome!
where is your vid on this
I bought one of these light 2 years ago and I've never been happier. By far, the best light I've ever bought!!!! Love 24hr mode. It keeps its setting even after the power goes out.
+RAD Aquatics that's good to hear.
It's always best to do a light review at night. Thanks for sharing
nice review of this light looks like they upgrade from the velcro tape to a actual bracket that's all I got when I purchased 3 of the 24" satellite +pro about 2 years ago. I still have these lights and I'm am very happy with them I hope you like your's
That was a solid review Sean and looks like it is going to do the job for you ... you could definitely tell the difference instantly when you switched it over .... the remote looks like a neat gadget haha something else to hide from the kids haha and omg Charlie scared me for a second at the end hahaha 😋
Neat! I've heard mixed things about the Current's ... "longevity," so I'll be interested to see your experiences with it.
Bought this exact light 2 months ago and absolutely enjoy the various settings. My 30-gal tank has a lot of plants (for black mollies, red wag platys). What setting is best to keep the algae down? Does your tank in the video have 2 power filters?
I love your Videos!!! and Aquarium Co-Ops as well........ Have you had any problems setting up the timer to go to moonlight? I have had nothing but problems with this light. Keep up the great work!
No mine come on when the daylight cycle is over. You can customize the blue light setting. make sure it isn't set really low or something.
would you set up one of the Memory buttons first and use that for your moonlight on the timer?
Awesome! your a inspiration to us all!!! keep it up.
+Justin Valek wow thanks a bunch.
Interesting LED strip, have to check it out. Fired Up!!!
I really like the "ramp up - ramp down" feature. I would like to see a nice light with not so many features other than that one. As it is I always try to turn on room lights first, then tank lights. Otherwise my Filament Barbs (Dawkinsia filamentosa) bounce off the walls! Thanks for a nice review.
Lights are the bain in my Shrimp Keeping life !!
Thanks for the review! I had this one for a couple months now and I love it. I feel like paying that much for a ramping up and down paired with a timer is perfect to not stress my little buddies out.
I literally went through so many lights and research just to come to this one's features. Sadly it's not cost friendly :\ You do great work in your reviews, keep it up man, love watching them!
what length of light from current for a 20-gallon high aquarium would you recommend>
Great video Sean. But I can not find info about how strong it is, how many watts is it?
Down the bottom of their website has all the specs.

Michael Stevens Thanks Man! 👍
wow that looks a really nice an bright light.😁
great review pecktec.
+Matt Aquatics thanks!
Thanks for the review on this light 👍
Did u be able to set the day light from the moonlight like u were hoping for....And how do u like this light so far?
Yes I actually have it on my 210 along with some other lights to fill in and add effects.
HI just a quick heads up,, i bought one of these lights with the storm function last year. Within 6 months it failed. i was not happy and as i live in the uk it cost more for
the shipping as well. Hope yours lasts longer than mine did. Happy fishing :)
+Fish Tales thanks for the heads up.
The hydrophylla nymphoides taiwan is looking fantastic :) just trimmed mine today and the leaves were bigger than my hand
+cheesburgerlolcats A whoops yeah I have been quite surprised. I may have to move it.
How has this been performing over time as far as plant growth etc? I have an ecoexotic e series over a 55 gallon, and I want to get a second 55 in the same room. They discontinued the ecoexotic model, but this looks like it has close to the same settings for room ambiance.
So I got 65 gallon tank that is 20 inches deep and 47 inches wide. Heavily planted. Should I run the 50 or 65 watt ?
65
you will enjoy this light. i have it for my 40 breeder and its amazing
+Nick Holland cool 😎
Hi. The tank on the left has a really high water level. Is this what the bubble machine Is for. As I think some of my fish died because of too hi water level and no oxygen. How powerful is the filter watefall?
Omg that green plant in the fluval edge grew so fast
+RevoTUBE I know it's crazy.
Great review, pecktec! I wish more manufacturers would allow for user customization on their 24/7 modes (hint, hint Finnex).
hi dont you think its like the fluval flex looks very nice i want one i wonder if they do it for the united kingdom market as i have a few nano tanks ocean free tanks are nice but the lights are crap as they are both open top but one of them i cant get the tubes for it as it a right funny size 10w 12 in so i have a led light on it with remote i am looking for some better leds for when my tanks come down when i move
weird question, is the light waterproof? i wanna put it not on the top of the aquarium, but under the substrate so light peeps out through random gaps from the ground, & can i set it to RGB lightning, so it looks like a view from another planet
No I don’t think so.
hello, the LEDs on that lamp are cree????
kingkamfa powers no I don’t think so. They are pretty week overall honestly.
what number settings (number and color) did u end up using for your planted 55g
Set the camera to manual mode and have the aperture and shutter speed fixed then it won't compensate for light changes.
Nice thanks for sharing
Nice knife where did u get it and what is its name
+The Fish Life it's a batman knife. Mass aquariums sent it to me.
So it’s been a while. How’s the light?
I've been running the 24" current "freshwater" for a year now. so far my anubias and java fern and moss are doing good for an $85.00 light. your 48 goes for I'm guessing 450?
Quick question Mr. Pecktec.. my Java Fern grows like a weed but my Anubius Nana grows EXTREMELY slowly in the same tank. Is that normal?
+No Thanks yeah anubius grows really really slow. But it will sneak up on you. Slow but steady.
pecktec thank you!
Did you determine if the moonlight function worked with the timer or not??
yes it does.
nice video ...but it would be better if you showed the lights on in the dark to have the real feel for the lights ...thanks for the video .
15:06 is that an edited you, or is that Really your twin? looks soo real, good job with editing If..
love mine, except the bracket to hold it above the tank doesn't fit the frame tanks, it doesn't cover my whole tank, but i love the settings, have you ever tried dustinsfishtanks.com, his light is killer it has five settings, i put a timer on it, it grows plants great, we have four
nice lights Sean, btw 20.00 is 8.00 pm. I just want your plants to get enough lights ;)
+Alexandru F Radean lol yeah I saw that.
I'm having a heck of time finding an affordable light capable of lighting a tank that's around 25" deep
very nice
Pettec my favorite utuber
amazing thanks for you my friend
+Almadaah mohannad thanks!
How much are they selling this light for? With controller, over $200?
+Michael Piccirillo there is a link in the description. Well over $200.
great video👍👍
+George Calderon thanks!
Nice.
How to set it to go off/on? I set time with my remote controller but it doesnt do anything never turns off & never turns on automatically
I think I went through the whole process in the video. I did have it stop going on and off once when I was messing with the settings. This interrupts the timer for some reason. But there is a resume button (or something like that I'll have to go look again) that will start the program for the timer up again.
:D Just in time to cheer me up!
+WakeupGrandOwl yeah!!!!
how tall is your tank?
+Fish Frenzy standard 55 gallon. I think that's around 20 inches.
So... you're not former military? lol You set the off time for 8pm. I know, it's hard multitasking, setting up a new light while making a video. Looks like a great light though.
+Lelani Dixon lol yeah I noticed that. I even counted to 8. I guess I just changed my mind and said nothing. :)
I grew up as a military brat, so couldn't resist giving you a hard time. I'm looking forward to seeing how you stocked your Flex. I just finished stocking mine.
My Satellite plus pro was awesome for 2 years then it died. Current sent me another transformer trying to troubleshoot but it didn't make a difference. They then stopped responding to my emails... shady.
+SummitAquatics sorry that happened to you. Hopefully they make them better now.
Nice video but man that light is expensive.
+Ruben true
Is it just me or does he look like an older version of Ray Romano :)
Lol Ray is older than me. Thanks!
I have a 36 inch finnex planted plus if you wanna come get it from me in Nashville @pecktec
+Jhonny Zelaya sweet!
how is the finnex doing?
+xisotopex the planted +? I put it on my 56 gallon. It's so bright! I bout it for the 20 but I may need another one.
I have the finnex planted plus on my jbj45 and I think I may need to run two. In your opinion is the finnex more a low to medium light?
Hey Pecktec,
I've recently published my own review on these lights and I used your video in my article to help my readers. Hope you don't mind!

+Fish Tank Setups don't mind at all. Thanks!
Weres your twin brother?
Look for a TC420 LED (5 channels) controller , add a few (rigid) strips of 5630 leds (available in red , blue , green , warm white and cool white and a 12V DC power supply (order according to your needs )and voila , you created your own aquarium led system.
The solution in this vid is good for the meek aquarist that want a system out of the box and to lazy to stimulate their own creativity.
I run my tanks with the controller at a ratio of 3 x 6700 K (cool white)+ 2 x blue + 1 x red , lengths of the strips can be adjusted to what you need ( lengthen or cut).
EBAY is a great place to investigate , it will blow this system away at less than half the cost and it's a nice puzzle to get your brain going.
I don't care to much about flashy gimmicks , i.e. thunderstorms , they add no value.
+planet4allofus sometimes I feel like glueing a bunch of shit together from eBay sometimes I don't. There are all kinds of ways to be creative. It doesn't make you meek or lazy. Sheesh I'm all for DIY when your willing but give me a break with this high horse BS. I'm sure you crafted a wonderful light. Go make a video about it and leave me alone.
How much will all of the things you mention cost? Including the soldering device and voltage meter that I don't own and skill to solder. How is the warranty on the leds, the controller and such. How many red, blue, green leds do I need to fully simulate sun light. Which spectrum settings are needs to achieve this? Will it looks as nice, clean and slim as the lighting system shown in this video? Does it have a remote? Can you give me over 1500 reviews from people that use this system, exactly this system, that have used this DIY product? Is it PAR tested? How much will it cost to get it PAR tested? How much time will I loose to do all the mentioned things? How much stress will I get learning all of this? Once I've learned this new skill how often will I apply it in my life?
Not wanting to build a DIY has nothing to do with being lazy or not. It's cool that you can do that but it isn't for most of us. And thunderstorm option isn't a flashy thing. There are fish that will only breed during a thunderstorm or release their fry.
No soldering required if you don't want , they come with leads.
If you want to know how many red blue white is required , everyone (including the experts) have a different opinion , best solution is copy the experts or the fixture you're looking at , the TC420 can modify the light intensity of 5 channels individually , adjust to your liking.
5 meters (15 ft) of 6700 Kelvin runs about $22,- delivered , including aluminium housing and clear cover.
The TC420 unit is about $30,- if you want to modify the intensity of 5 colors individually , otherwise a dimmer of $4,- will do the job.
A 12v power supply (similar to the one on a laptop) is approx. $8,- for 72 watts.
For a grand total of $34,- for 15 ft of lighting.
I would use 2 rows on a tank up to 12" high and 3 rows on an 18" for every 12" of width for medium light plant requirement.
And 99.99% of aquarists will not breed fish that need the flashy gimmick.
If it's too much work ( and I don't see it as work but more as a fun project) , don't bother and spend your $200,- on an of the shelf unit that uses the same LED's (Samsung , EpiLed) believe me , they don't make their own.
If you already have a hood , just tape them to the inside.
If not , get some alu "U" channel (¾") and a sheet of ¼" project board and cut it to fit your tank.
You won't have the annoying light shine above your tank that way.
The choice is yours , I'll place some designs on GRABCAD soon for the DIY'er.
planet4allofus you convinced me at the "tape it to the inside".
Again $200 is peanuts for a device that has been proven to work correctly.
Your Lego / tape system might be cheaper and a solution for some but not for everyone.
Great , buy it , the LED strips in that unit will be "taped" as well :P.
$200,- ( no , it's way more for the 36") peanuts .
The DIY solution is obviously not for you , as $200,- is peanuts.
No use wasting your time putting something together yourself.
