That wasn't the sound from the lavalier mic, that was the clean digital sound the piano produces. Putting the headphones like that, not that close from the mic , it couldn'tve produced the sharp, well-defined sound that followed. But if that's really the digital audio produced, it's quite nice.

Amazing TECH. Extensive. When you dont NEED a 7 foot grand (or have the space)... love the "honest" Yamaha sound. Nothing "extra" is on each note. One of the reasons why professionals in recording studios and rock bands prefer Yamaha. Or David Foster...composer/musician.
I have the B1 acoustic only in a small living room, and I absolutely love it. It does have a mute pedal to reduce the volume quite a bit.
Yes, the B1's middle pedal is the mute pedal. Push it down and slide it to the left to lock it in mute position.

I cannot beleave, that we hear the piano sound coming out of the head phones into Your microphone. Surely it is directiy. Sounds very good. The problem with this laser controlled piano is that after some years dust and dirt make problems. I have a yamaha grand touch piano. It works also with laser and i have tone repetitions with out playing the.

How much do these cost?
Once you enable silent mode does it sound exactly the same as it would without? Besides that I have another question, would you recommend this piano to someone who is only able to play on silent mode?
Hello Trophaeum Gaming - the piano actually sounds a bit better in silent mode. You are listening to a very high end digital sample of a concert grand piano. When playing on silent mode you are still playing with full acoustic action. You can absolutely practice this way. Thank you for your comment.

Nah, if it came from the string, it wouldn't be silent. You would hear the sound all across the room.
Are they the same exact piano only that the silent one has headphones that you can use? Like does the bi silent have strings? Or does it have same sound?
Through the headphones, the Yamaha b1 silent sounds like a 9' concert grand! Really beautiful sound to practice with!

Without the headphones the piano sounds and acts like a "real" b1 acoustic piano with hammers striking strings.

The Yamaha b1 silent DOES have strings! When you put the middle mute pedal on, the hammers don't hit the strings and you can only hear the digital piano sounds through the headphones. It's the best of both worlds, acoustic and digital!

I believe they are also available in the European market. Frankly, not every product does well in every market, so it may not be distributed in Asia or South America. Thank you for your comments!
Makes sense! Seen a lot of UI-Js in Asia, but never anywhere else :) I think these are great options for apts.

I'm from germany and I got a B1 from like... the 1980s... B1 2 3 is really just a series like BMW with its 5er 3er etc.
