One of the most searched phrases on the Internet today is “Impeach Trump.” How realistic is this possibility? Lichtman, Distinguished Professor of History at American University, believes that Trump’s impeachment isn’t a matter of if but when, and his new book details how it might work. Over and over I heard pundits say that "impeachment is a 'political process'; and I simply could not understand what that meant. Mr Lichtman said simply: "Impeachment does not involve the courts; the process is left to the elected political representatives in government Congress". Yurecka ! !

Just as an aside, I totally love and agree with just about all he has to say, go for it, but, in regard of his comment about latch key kids, I live in Canada, great social service care etc, etc, by the time my daughter was twelve, not wanting to be picked up every day by her father, she asked to be allowed to come home on the bus and staying by her self until we came home. We had amazing neighbours, they knew her every move, her friends family knew her so well. She was fine, and, I was a teacher in a girls school which put great emphasis on girl power and safety, I am very offended by the idea that We were endangering her. But then we live in Canada. Even then, one of her teachers , in grade eight, called this into question, until I asked her to tell me how many other kids had to wait at home till their parents got home, she couldn’t answer me. It turned out that my daughter was exceptionally bright, she couldn’t deal with her questions and kept referring to academic tests that showeid the girl as really bright but , as, without parental oversight. This may sound like we protesteth too greatlty, but she’s done just great, despite her principal telling us that she would do well in a career which would require little or no reading or writing. As retired teacher now, this just totally upset me and my husband, we were shocked and offended. This felt like, let’s give up on kids that don’t fit the mould. Alex went on to wonderful outreach opportunities for girls who wished to follow apprentice career options. She has done so well, I wish I could meet those neigh sayers who would have written her and so many others as failures.

I think you miss the point. Lichtman knows very well that we don't elect a president based on popular vote. He also knows that we have had several presidents who lost the popular vote and won an electoral vote. George Bush being one of them in 2000. It seems to me that Lichtman would have based his prediction on the electoral vote. Remember he said he ignored to polls and the pundits .
