The Tragically Hip Named Record Store Day Canada Ambassadors 2024

We are honoured and excited to announce that we are the Record Store Day Canada Ambassadors for 2024. In Rob’s words; “Record stores are a public service. A repository of knowledge. A library”. For many of us, independent record stores are our church, with each album acting as a sacred text.
On April 20th ( #rsd2024), we will be releasing The Tragically Hip Live at CBGB’s - a limited edition pressing of our live show from 1993. The record features nine live songs that we originally recorded on January 14, 1993 after the release of “Fully Completely”. It is being pressed as a 12” pink vinyl with a limited run of pink cassettes at participating stores in Canada and the US. Available at independent record stores only.

The Tragically Hip played at CBGBs?? I did not know that. Wow. I am originally from Long Island NY but now upstate by the Canadian border. I had just moved here and lived here only a few months. I fell in love with your music after seeing you play on a daytime news type show when you were scheduled to do a concert hereI had been unable to find a radio station in Buffalo that I liked. And I heard music from my tele one day and I looked at the screen and said out loud “OMG who is this?!? Wow!” But I did not catch the name of this band. You played two songs the first one was “Grace Too”. It was awhile before I learned the name The Tragically Hip. Your music has given me such joy.😊When was the show at CBGBs? I never went there but know about it for sure. Record stores! Weren’t they the best?❤( My entire album collection which was rather large was destroyed in the big move! Really. Of all of the things to get ruined) Love and appreciation Rob
