    Kim you always have great videos. I can't believe I have had my gliders for almost a year and how well we are bonded almost right away.

    This is great! Think this will be very helpful to people. It is really important to understand that it takes time for you to get to know your sugar gliders and for your sugar gliders to get to know you. Sometime videos make it seem so easy. I used to watch videos where people would just stand in front of the cage with the door wide open and the gliders would just stay in or around the cage, but mine always tried to jump to me or explore the rest of the room. Now 1.5 years later, I can finally open the cage door and they don't dart to come out. It just takes time. There are a lot of things I am more confident in doing now then even 6 months ago. I have 3 female gliders, and 1 of them always nips and probably always will, it is just part of her personality. She never bites hard, think it is just how she explores the world. Mine hate it when you cover their face when you clip their nails, so I can never wrap them in a pouch to do nail trimming. I just put them in a smaller pouch with mealworms and leave their head out to see what I am doing and that works easier for me. If I try and hold them and cover their head they wiggle a lot more and it makes it harder and takes longer. So sometime you just have to figure out what works for you and your gliders.

    The talking about biting with Balkey was very helpful for me, I have a glider who has been biting, i don’t think it’s aggressive but he recently drew blood on my mom, but has never drawn blood on me. When he’s out of the cage he usually never bites or nips, if he does it is just a curious bite and never hurts. He tends to try to bite through the bars of the cage when I’m closing it. Love the video! Thank you!

    I’m in the process of learning all about Sugar Gliders since my wife and I are wanting to adopt some within the next several months. Your videos have been awesome so far! Having no prior experience living with Sugar Gliders, I’m looking forward to taking the time to continue to learn by watching your videos!

    Yes, when I held my friend's former sugar glider, he was only on my left arm. But when he saw I had a hoodie on my back, he acted like he wanted to jump in there. 🤣😆🤣

    First, I've been watching your videos for quite a while and want to say thank you for all of the advise! Second, I just got my gliders/Joey's, neutered brother and his sister and did it ALL wrong! I forced them in my hand and now they are freaked out. They didn't even go back in their pouch when I put them in their cage, they are curled up at the bottom of the cage :( I probably set back bonding quite a bit, didn't I. Wish I would have watched this again b4 interacting...

    I got my sugar gliders around 6 month ago now. One is a neutered male and the other one is a younger female. Just a few weeks ago the male started to "mount" the female and they keep fighting. I have no idea why he's doing it but it's making me go crazy. Can you maybe help me out?

    what time is the best time to bond with them?

  • @Jira_NYYU
    @Jira_NYYU 11 місяців тому

    Do you have a glider that still shakes when you touch them. Our sugar gliders jobs over to us every time they see us but if i touch them they will shake for at least 5-10mins and then they would settle and go to sleep in the bonding pouch.

      Trying to direct them with your flat hands to avoid your back and then if they get on your back anyway, slowly back up against a flat wall and gently put pressure on them. Sometimes this works. If not you can get a hoodie and just embrace it lol 😂

    Regardless of the trust, you are like you or what you think they like you? It is impossible for their complex needs to be fully met in captivity by forcing them to live in a captivity. They are miserable, they are suffering And they do not live life like they should. On average think alive about a hundred and sixty eight feet Explain to me where on your property. They would have space to glide even 50 feet
