Thank you for being an inspiration ! I have purchased a cub that hasn’t run in 8-9 years. I hope to get it home this week to start working on it. I will be looking for cultivator part as it has a belly mower.
Jtwes-There have always been a couple things I’ve wondered about using chisel plows. One, what is the purpose of the wheels. Just to help support the plow? And two, what is the advantage of using a chisel plow on a field versus disking it? Thanks!
Hey Robert good question. The wheels are depth gauge. You set them at the depth you want the plow to go in the ground or what your tractor can handle lol. The reason is it breaks up the soil and loosen itt up more under the surface than on top. It airs it out to.
Jimmy Red corn is higher in protein than most corn and critters just love it. Crows wiped mine out last year. Left neighbors field corn alone. Also the Jimmy Red that I planted is not sweet corn. It makes good roastin ears but is mainly a high quality meal corn.
I grow the Rafi USA double hybrid seed corn every year. The Rafi people at NC state say all you need is 660 feet to be ok with no cross pollinating the different varieties. Don't ask me how they got that number, they are smarter than me.
Great video! Early planting has become difficult here in NC, with all the rain. That's a nice plow there, I hope I can get a tool bar like that with a 3 point hitch someday, there's so much that can be done with that.
I’m sorry I don’t know. I know that it’s mounted to a IH tool bar which could have been outfitted with a lot of different implements such as furrow plows , planters, disk. I look tonight and see if I see it in one of my manuals.
👍
Seat Time good therapy 👍🏻! Thanks for sharing, enjoyed!
Look likes you had a little yourself

Congratulations on the cub Brandon at Burchstore Tractors will have all you need.
That spring tooth really is great. Hope to see more on the ‘tatters soon!
I’m hoping to plant them Saturday.
Hey Joey what the make up of your soil there in your garden. Looks kind of Sandy.
Some Sandy some loamy. Having the benefit of knowing what the whole field has to offer I plow up just the good spots for my garden.

Looks good, l still have at least another month until l can even contemplate working the fields, still frozen and flooding from snow melt.
I’m trying to get some potatoes in the ground before it rains again.
I'm way behind you. I still got to let the snow melt and dry up before I plant my potatoes. Lol.
It’s still pretty wet especially on that far end of that field. Thanks for watching.

That’s good to know . I was hoping it was sweet.
Ive heard tell that at one time it was much in demand to make a certain liquid libation popular in the south.

I do have some other Non GMO corn I want to raise seed off of . Thanks for the info cause I was worried about cross contamination.
Is this a international chisel plow? I noticed you mentioned the tool bar being an international.
Well I guess you could say that. It is all factory Farmall/ international equipment.
Those tool bars had all kinds of different attachments.
What is all the growling or scratching noises and sounds like you need to grease your throttle bearing
No throttle bearing on there. Probably what your hearing are the rear axle bearings.
I meant the throwout bearing there would be a grease cirque on there
@@vf555fotia7 mabye I dare say it probably never been greased . I’m al most afraid to now might break. Lol

I lucked across this one on the side of the road. I’m not going to be able to put the potatoes we’re I first wanted but that’s ok.
Longer video please Mr Joey
Don’t worry I got one coming.
What model field cultivator is that you are using?
