    I can't believe you neglected mentioning the buff! Especially with the whole C word going on around the world at the moment! Buffs are great at this time of year. I do concur on the rest, though. and probably would have mentioned gilets and 3/4 bibs - and that some warmers are fleece lined and others are not. Plus I might have given rough temperature boundaries that clothing is useful for. Just some extras to think about :D

    • @ronaldbrachetti576
      @ronaldbrachetti576 3 роки тому +2

      I agree on Buffs being a great piece of clothing. However, their value as face mask is quite low, and should be avoided, as it doesn’t really filter anything. Sad, but true

    • @mattswain552
      @mattswain552 3 роки тому +1

      @@ronaldbrachetti576 Absolutely in terms of medically, however if you need to step into a cafe etc. to use the loo then (at least here in the UK) a face covering is needed - and the buff is perfect for that, therefore has dual usage!

    • @bryanrosensteel3331
      @bryanrosensteel3331 3 роки тому +2

      Tip for using a buff as a mask: Fold the buff over in layers. I use a wool buff, and fold it so it is four layers thick around my mouth and nose. That is enough protection to protect others. There was a study conducted with a buff that many cite to say a buff is inadequate, but that study only looked at number of droplets, and they only used one layer (and in their paper they admit their findings should not be used as a measure of safety, meerly as a means to show how to potentially measure number of droplets expelled).
      Bottom line, if you fold the buff to leverage multiple layers, and social distance, they should be good enough for protecting others (most masks other than n95 and above are meant to protect others in case you are asymptomatic).

    My best tip is to keep your jacket zipped and unzip your under layers. That way you will always be aero and you can control your core temperature better.
    If your not sure about how many under layers you will need, put on your vest or jacket and leave them unzipped. If you do get cold you can always zip the under layers up. I ride 6,000 + miles a year, in all weather (except ice).

    Base layer, eh? I sweat so much, even in the coldest temps. I'd never thought to try one until now. Thanks! It makes total sense. I do like to wear nitrile gloves under my full finger gloves in the winter since it keeps the sweat from soaking my gloves and making my hands cold. One very important tip with fall riding is eye protection. I prefer a yellow or orange lens because it provides contrast while protecting my eyes from falling detritus/rain. Autumn is a beautiful season, but not my favourite time of the year to ride a bike 🥶

    What kind of front bike light is that, Conor?

    I try to refrain from commenting on UA-cam videos but I can't help it:
    1) Conor's bike color scheme is fantastic but the length of the steerer tube is obnoxious (and I am a tall rider myself)
    2) Please prove that all thea accessories (arm warmers, leg warmes, rain jacket, gloves, ...) fit all together in the back pockets
    3) I am seriouusly disappointed that Hank was not able to put on his overshoes while riding
    ----------
    Overall - great edutainment as usually!

    Old pro, Dan or Sy?
    For hands, you cannot go wrong with bar mits. Warm and keeps the tape dry and clean.

      Bar mitts are not allowed on some group rides in my cycling club. Not all rides but some where the spacing is tight and the pace is fast.

      @Andrew Murray My pump is attached to my bike. And the spare tube is under my seat. But my phone and these days a mouth and nose mask indeed. 😂

    Overshoes work only for a short time, after about 30 minutes in rain you will get wet feet

    3:59 the difference between GCN riders and utility riders. The lads are talking about leg warmers as some bloke carrying a massive bundle on his shoulder bikes by them in the other lane
