Hey Wes, Can you touch on in breeding vs line breeding? With your future breeding sire, how do you prevent him from breeding his mother or his sister? Also, I know you’ve previously mentioned monitoring manure and supplementation especially if you have a lactating cow, but how much attention do you give to the manure of your breeding bull?

@@severson42 In my experience 2 moves at 200k density does a decent job. Your maximum density is dictated by the quantity of grass in any given paddock. Always remember something is better than nothing. If you can only do 2 moves, well that’s better than one. Something else, it takes time for the animals to adjust and become less selective. Give it 2 weeks minimum to see a change in their grazing habits. Your herd genetics might only allow you 2 moves a day at lower density. Ie lower harvest efficiency. My H.E. Goal is 80+% It takes great genetics and quality forage to hit 90% without losing body condition. Remember, 4x moves and 1,000,000 density it a long term goal to achieve. Not something you want to try out of the gate. Just slowly work up to higher densities and keep pushing it until their manure starts looking poor and then back off a little.
