So I'm an ex honda formula 4stroke off shore monohull powerboat racer from the UK. Steve and Graham(Steve's business partner at Couger raceboats) taught me and my ex girl friend, Rose Lores how to drive a power boat. Legend of a guy. Got nothing but respect and admiration for the guy 💯💪👊 good to see he's still at it and STILL at the top of his game💪👊❤️
Every driver/operator I’ve every had conversation with that does work for Reliable says they have never worked for any better trucking logistics company owner than Tom Abrams. The most common comment was “If you are always giving 100% effort for the company, Tom makes sure that same 100% effort is given to keep you successful.” Pretty cool. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
You guys are certified crazy. I was spooked doing 50mph in a old Glastron up the Connecticut river to a pizza rendezvous with you power boat people. I'll race cars at 160mph all day before I climb in a power boat !
Are you sure Class I boats run 200mph??? My understanding is Class I power is limited to 2x1100hp. That power will not take the boats anywhere near 200mph.
When I lived in America my friend said do you want to try my Apache twin 502’s so high strong 💪 we couldn’t barely keep enough running surface cleavers at 40 feet and being a Ferrari Technician it was so much fun mono hull but trimmed right we were airborne just loved 🥰 big waves 🌊 absolutely the must fun I’ve ever done
Basically split my spine the last time in power tunnel hull boat. The waves are basically semi solid concrete. But losing ignition that drastically, I see it as no excuse. From funny car bulder to restoring WWII Aircraft, never has ignition failed. I'll suspect low grade crimpers caused it. Along with not using 3 point wire ties for each point, giving wire loom restricted suspension, vs single wrap ties on loom holding looms down too solid on structure, providing zero flex. This is standard aircraft process where high torque engines shake violently in their mounts. I've seen nightmares under control panels as well. Spending many hours of re-engineering every run of cables. When done, you look like you were attacked by Bobcat claws. Those who perform these exact details knows damn well why. Cheers
@@markgilroy5714 True, Billy Mauff still races and is a staple in Supercat. This is UA-cam channel that pirates footage from someone else and uses it just to get views. Doubt they even know anything about these boats.
I got to 4:34 and quit. This was right after the announcer said these boats run twin 800hp engines. I say a huge 'phooey' to any claim that this large of a boat goes anywhere near 200mph on that power. I also got a very large feeling that I was watching a 45-minute long commercial.
Reliable Carriers have Been at The Top of The Enclosed Exotic Car Transport for Many Many Moons 🌙. Aka yrs. We have a couple of friends with Big Sleeper trucks over there.
@cschuh4695 Right on my friend. This Thanksgiving will be my 30th Year behind the Wheel .My parents have a Peterbilt 379 with a 12ft aka 144" Indiana Customs Truck Sundowner Series. . U musta a started driving around the time I started.. I started full time in 1994 when I was 18 , Iran team with my dad but born and raised in trucking they used own 20 trks when I was a kid.. but I got my in-state CDL 18 and 3 months later they did a trial program in the state of tennessee,. And they gave 50 of us at 18 that had gotten their instate cdl , A Chance to see , how it would work out. . About a year after we was able to have our chance, the guy at the office that was doing the CDL and the permits for 18 year olds to 21 got caught taking bribes. And there's a few major accidents and they put a stop to it .

It's been fun, interesting, and rough-n-tumble all wrapped up together...
They most definitely do have trim capabilities like tunnel tabs and trim tabs. Putting trim down makes the boat run flat in the water. Raising the tab and drives lifts the boat out of the water
@@brandonthorbahn2405 Yes, but that's not 'on-the-fly' is it? *Just asking because I don't know, I only saw them raising the propellor shaft (was it?) in the video on the dockside. My point is, they can't do something like you mentioned when they're barrelling along in a race, no?
Yes it is possible to trim the boat while at speed, even my seadoo has a variable trim system. Although I have also wondered why these race boats never employ an air spoiler, like the elevators on the tail of a plane. Maybe the trim system in the water is more than enough to keep the bow down and not shoot up into the sky.
@@andyhan5008 I know the design of Donald Campbell's 'Bluebird' is (I say is, because it's been recovered and beautifully restored) vastly different from these modern racing boats, but, you only have to see the violence and utter carnage that can happen if the nose rises too high, even momentarily, trim or not.
@@SceneArtisan oh I have most def seen the insane carnage of what happens when a race boat’s bow rises and lifts off into the air. Like they say THE MOST DANGEROUS MOTOR SPORT (I guess more than motorcycle racing lol). Since it’s literally life and death for the boat to stay on the water, I always thought, why don’t they have air stabilizers as well as trimming the boat. Is it redundant since the hydrodynamic trimming is enough? That’s awesome you got to see the bluebird setup, if you know why most race boats don’t bother with air spoilers I’d appreciate it. Thanks

We miss the old real offshore races when boats were boats!
Really miss open class

FYI. These boats with these motors run 125-130 flat out. Definitely nowhere near 200.
Yeah, Class 1 can hit maybe 150 I believe w/ 1100s but super cat is a “no power adder” class so 120-130 probably about right.
My bad, that was American ethanol.

Love this!
Looks like this was filmed years ago . Still a pretty great video .
yes i was at least 17yrs ago i would say i was there.
That’s exactly what racing is about! Fall, get back up and go after them!!💪😂
Well now you know what to check!!
My mom got into this after being banned from roller derby. She goes 225mph
american ethanol?
what year is this like 2008?
long time ago i was there.
He asked what year, he didn’t asked if u was there
This IS NOT a 3month old video ! Brian the little kid in the video is over 30 now .
What was that sludge they were putting into the engines?? Did not look like new oil. Am I missing something?
Looked like that oil they run in big diesel engines
At least there is no PlayStation controller inside the boat
😂😂
Wow, the "crew chief " is such a schill...but that's how it was 20 years ago when this video was mad and boats were slow...lol
800 hp?..try 1800 hp!
This was only one of the loosing guys story. This what most those guys experience most races.
Kind of ironic the only boat that breaks down is named Reliable.
Godjob
This is 15-20yr old footage. None of those teams race anymore.
Yes they do!!.. Teams/sponsors change. WHM is the oldest. Alot of those good old boys still race. And now, the new breed!.. Cheers!

Infinite money pit.
Nothing here folks. Don't waste your time
This isn’t the top tier of boat racing, next level up is twin Merc 1650’s and surface drives. Search CMS Racing… those are the real 200mph rides.
Perhaps airbag suits like MotoGP stars wear may be something to look at, safety wise.
So who F-ed up? Sterling? Try mercury next
The question still is; ‘What Does Racing At 200MPH Look On Water?.
Oh the piles an bad backs 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤👍👍🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧⛵️⛵️
Add 2 more engines then your at the title of this video
I can remember back in the day riding my bicycle on the water faster than these rookie wanna be 😅
Not a single onboard shot showing what racing looks like at 200 Mph on water... CLICKBAIT

The Unlimited hydroplane boats are faster. Surprised that nobody is running Turbine engines.
Don't come here if you want to know "What Does Racing At 200MPH Look Like On Water?"
What a waste of time that was.
This whole show was filmed and they laid a big fat EGG 🥚. SMH 🤦♂️
six man. Takes only 2. Waste of money. Engine and driver.
@31:22 that's really cool!! to see a spouse supporting the other. Most women wouldn't do that.
Top Fuel nitro Hydroplane drag racing is faster and more spectacular in my humble opinion.
I'm thinking, what happens to fish and other aquatic creatures that cannot get out the way fast enough to avoid these speed monsters? Just wondering.
There boats are impressive. No way I would ride in one though
Sounds like sabotage to me
200? you mean 0!. next time you better follow an other team
The music stinks
