I just found your channel recently as an ex-Catholic. I never grew up in a home where studying our Bible was important. Just going to church every weekend. I’m looking to understand more and deepen my faith so I can start helping my young sons develop an actual relationship with God and Jesus and not lose those important years like I did. Your channel is the one I keep coming back to so I just wanted to say thank you and I’m so glad God gave you the passion and knowledge so I can understand and learn more ❤️
I was raised Protestant but converted to Catholic and firmly believe in the importance of reading, studying and knowing scripture. Even my priest said that your bible binding should be worn and pages marked and the scriptures be written on your heart. I’m so thankful we live in a country that we can read the Bible ❤ Thank you Jesus
I must say, when you talked about the devotional approach, I see your point that well if you just read a small piece, somewhere in the bible you wont get the full context first of all and that it's very in the now, but I do want to say that I do like listening to devotionals, now I am familiar with the bible since I have been going to church since I was young and I did bible study with the pastor and another study group. i feel like sometimes a devotional can shine a new light on a certain passage, and sometimes this new view can positively impact my faith, thats why i personally don't see the bad in it and for me having a daily devotional makes it easier to set aside at least some time each day for Gods word and when I have started I'm more likely to not just stop at that devotional.
I’ve never made a friend in church and I grew up going to church. I am “churched”. (Cringey phrase). But I’m loving all the wonderful Christian UA-camrs!😊
Hi girl :) I found your youtube channel just a few weeks ago but i have to tell you i ve never been so passionate about reading the bible until I heard you talk about it. My faith has really gone weak in the last years and you made me go get my Bible, start reading it, studying and journaling it and praying again. I’m just so grateful for you and for your passion for the Lord. I’m binge watching your videos like crazy. You really are like a fresh breath of air. Thank you! ♥️ God bless you! 🦋
I do hope you never stop posting your videos. You are so helpful, and I love your personality. It helps to get a person so motivated to get into the Bible and Bible studies!
I heard a pastor say about “devotionals” … if Bible Study is food, a devotional is like a breadstick real quick before you go out the door. 😂 Tastes good, but little food value.
These cultural and archeological reference books are exactly what I’m looking for because when you really understand where the verse came from😅 it’s so much deeper.
Thank you so much for communicating so clearly and not over complicating Bible study. I have been so overwhelmed Ane not knowing where to start, but I have a sort of combined historical, cultural/antropologic and archaeological commentary already and a Bible dictionary so I can use those at least as a start 😊. Thank you for inspiring to get into it!
Good Evening Faith. After watching several of your videos on Bible studying, I got inspired. My inner Nerd said let me out. 😂...I went to Ollie's thus evening to look for more translations for verse mapping and came home with two I think that look like fact loaded awesomeness. I found a CSB Holyland Illustrated Bible and a NIV Halley's study Bible. I recently read book of Jeremiah and was confused. I hope that these Bibles along with my other study Bibles will lesson my confusion. The old Testament is difficult for me. I thank you for your helpful and very inciteful videos because they have inspired me to get out of my faith rut and get into the Word and learn more about who God is and wrap my head around how He loves me though I fail him so much. THANK YOU for you encouragement.
I attended Bible College and one textbook I still reach for is Talk Thru the Bible by Wilkinson & Boa. Great for context, chronology, and 1st century facts (although not in depth).
I love devotionals for encouragement towards deeper study. To take the verse the devotional has given and read it in the proper context in my Bible and delve deeper. 1 verse with 1 persons opinion isn’t enough
Faith, I’d totally recommend Bible ref and enduring word commentary which you can use on your phone or computer also step Bible for Word study’s because I don’t have much recourses so I use what I can
Yes, humans have their names associated as the "author," of a book in the Bible, yet ALL of Scripture is divinely INSPIRED. I know you know this Faith; I just wanted to make that clear for all your followers. ❤🙏
I have the Archeological Bible. I THOUGHT it was gonna be my going to church Bible... Nope. It stays at home. You could build literal muscles packing that one around.
Thank you so much for your willingness to be honest, thought, instructive and transparent in your Faith walk. I appreciate your channel and it has helped God and me dig myself out of a pretty serious dry spell in my walk with Him.
I so appreciate your words! I LOVE what you said about knowing the mindset of others and where they come from - it will help begin the process of breaking down the barriers and sharing your faith with them.
I've been trying to study the Bible, mostly online. I think it might be best now to try your way. I do find righting out scripture and then break it down plants it better in my head and heart. I'd like to find studies you've done and get help on note taking. Ty for doing these videos. God bless! 💖🙏🏼💖
LOL, she just posted something REALLY funky the other day and all I could think about is the fact that I mentioned her in my videos and now I'm afraid people are going to think I endorse everything she says! lol
There is so much devotional content out there. I would be interested in knowing more about the correct approach to this content. I personally go into it with the view that the devotional is an interpretation/application of the verse by the author. I then look at the scripture (with context, not just the verse) to see how it can be applied to my life. Is this misuse of scripture?
Found your channel last week when searching for videos on verse mapping (found yours really helpful and easy to follow along with to get me started) and I'm enjoying the passion and excitement you have when talking about the Bible. After two years abroad and outside of my typical Christian bubble, I realised once I got home again that one of the biggest things I need to work on is my Biblical literacy for whenever I do step out of that bubble again. I find your videos really encouraging and motivating and they make delving deeper into the Bible less daunting and something my naturally nerdy brain can find fun. I often felt guilty for switching off when reading long passages or feeling 'meh' after reading through a devotional but I love that you show how much cross-referencing can be done and how to get the gears turning for my brain to put all the pieces together myself with the guidance of different sources like you mentioned in this video so thank you!! :)
I know that this is an older video, but the way I look at devotionals is that they're like recycling. It's a good place to start, but a bad place to stop. Absolutely, if you want to get into the Word and have ten minutes before you have to leave for work and want to have some background and probably learn something new while still getting into God's Word, then devotionals are great. Personally, I find much more value in in-depth study, but I still love a good devotional when I only have a few minutes. (:
Thank you for the tips! I've been meaning to go back and rewatch the videos you did on 1st century culture and now is a good time to do it while things are fresh in my mind. How are you doing? How can I pray for you? Congratulations on 13k subs! 🎉💐💖
OK would you explain in simple words what is THEOLOGY / DOCTRINE How they are the same.different??? Could you choose a text and walk us thru your thinking in thr 4th approach? As always your vid/teaching is great! But I would like to see you do the steps you went quickly through PLEASE so I can understand and try this..Thank you for all you do I am very blessed. Marian
I love your videos. I wanted to just share my thoughts about the Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible. I purchased it after viewing your video and read in a few places before returning it. The commentaries, to me, are based on philosophical and intellectual knowledge and don’t align with biblical teaching (Creation, flood, etc). I’m sure there are good things in the book, I’m just letting people know what I found. I am looking for a book that simply explains things about life and the culture of Bible times. Thanks for all you do! Blessings-
Wanting to code my table of contents. Like highlighting all of the gospels one color and then the letters a different color. I want to do this only so I can learn what’s what and refer back to it if I need to later. Do you have a video showing this or have a breakdown of it all?
I am so sorry that I missed the live today😞 I did just watch the replay and I found it very interesting but I do have a question what is an archaeological Bible is the Bible different then the nkjv or any other Bible?
Hi, you might want to check these videos but in particular Jesus Culture: Part 1 ua-cam.com/video/zIEcEpvAWLc/v-deo.html. Part 2 ua-cam.com/video/SpvgHGS_V3M/v-deo.html
I really didn't understand any of what you were saying. I just read the bible and make note of anything that sticks out to me. My main aim is to read a translation that I can understand.

Why do you have to “talk” in such a exaggerated way? It’s hard to ignore and hear what you say. I’m dramatizing with you instead of listening.

Thanks Faith. You’ve taken my Bible study to a new level. I’ve ordered a couple of those study bibles second hand.
I just bought a culture study bible at Ollie's. I love it. Thanks for the recommendation. 😁
That’s so cool! No way!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and showing us how to specifically and correctly read God’s divine word!
This is great content to help readers rightly divide the word of God

Thank you for your teaching. Greatly appreciated.
Great video Faith. You explained each of the different approaches people tend to take to Bible study, and why they’re not always the best, so well!
I’m so glad! Thanks for watching!
so interesting you follow Tiffany, I do too and I feel the same way!!

Great video. Thank you for this topic.
Loving your videos ❤ what study Bible do you use?

I really didn't understand any of what you were saying. I just read the bible and make note of anything that sticks out to me. My main aim is to read a translation that I can understand.
Another wrong way: 'oh, it was Paul', 'it is the Old testament'.
This a front for the views chic.
