***Thanks @Mrrazvyyo for pointing out the reason the power injection didn't work when I tried doing it right after the power supply! The gnd is the wire that has the black line on it. The Data is still the middle and the Voltage is the wire that has nothing written or marked on it. In the video I incorrectly said the wire with the black line on it was voltage and the gnd was the one that had nothing on it.

    IDEA FOR VIDEO:
On the PRO 200 feet version the power brick gets pretty warm when running all the lights. What if you made a power injection video, but utilized a separate 36V power injector.

Are you using the same power supply? Or you did use a different power supply for the injection as im having this issue with my 150ft govee light

Chris, glad I ran into your videos. I do have a question, you have mentioned that it does matter where you can cut the lights. I cut 3 lights after the connector and added an extension, it worked for a bit now they don’t work. What could be the issue? I jumped that section to another connector and it works but only the first three.

Dude this is so awesome! Thank you so much! Question though, can you just run the power injection to the end of the last light instead of the beginning of the second to last strand?

I have my Govee permanent lights on my eves already.
With the Govee controller hooked up I don’t have any flickering. I then replaced the controller with a digiquad and WLED then the last string and a half started flickering with full white at anything above 25% output with the digiquad.
Tried injecting from the end and it shut off the entire 6 lengths
So I don’t think power injecting from the end works

Chris I said it once and I'll say it again you've been my favorite channel since I came across it. I watch your videos all the time and it's made me a better contractor. I understand I am not a licensed electrician but I do have a HICL I install Permanent Lighting I'd say as a career now. I wouldn't want to take the shine away from the licensed electricians out there so I'll say that again - I am not a licensed electrician - I just wanna ask, at what point do you think the line is crossed when going from DIY to Electrician work when doing this as a career? As soon as you make the 1st cut into the wires and do any sort of modification? Ik your channel is a DIY channel not intended for commercial use. But I'd probably state that in your videos. I always think God forbid something happened with a bad connection I made and now I have lives at stake and me and my company were the last ones on that property. Not saying you're doing anything wrong either tho. I just do this as a profession now but also don't want to break any rules considering it's been going very well for me.
Anyway, you're the fucking goat and I always enjoy watching your videos, always, please don't stop what you love doing. You deserve everything you ask for and I hope nothing but the best for you and your family bro. Keep being an A1 dude and 1 thing I wanted to mention: you're usually out of frame in your videos, so the 1st time I seen you in your video it was funny idk why 😂😂😂 like holy shit there he is, the man behind the camera ... idk not making fun or jokes it was just funny. Keep killing it dude and I've said this before too, you've inspired me to keep pursuing this shit.

Is it possible for you to go through a wiring diagram for a video that shows your testing of where a Y is possible, length of extension cables, and where you injected power from/to? Would be great to have this documentation for people working on their houses with these lights. I have a 200ft kit. and I just got support to respond to my plan where they say "Yes its possible":
I want 50ft of lighting, 24 ft of extension cable, the Govee driver module, another 25ft extension, and then 100ft of lighting.
Theoretically, this works. but your power injection and Y split videos give me hope I could run cable differently.
Thanks again for all the work!

Love the channel. Can you feed power to the middle of a strip and power both sides of the strip. Say you have a 6 foot long strip and feed the single source power in at the middle of the strip with a power supply , will it light the whole strip or only half.

How many volts do the LEDs need to work? The power supply produces 36V, but by the end of my third strand I am reading 34V and the strand doesn't light up at all.

I installed a set of the new pro lights today. We used all but two segments. Even without using two of the segments, the last two segments are flickering. I'm hoping it's just a bad connection. None of my jumps are really that long. But if I have to inject power, does it have to be from the same initial power supply or can it come from another power supply?

@@aneye4aneye977 well....kinda...but it should have matter when i connected the wires from the controller. (I spliced afte the rgbic controller) . So i wired the black from the controller to the ---- wire , white on middle wire and red on the remaining outside wire....it seems to work. Out of 3 splices i have only on 1 some flickering (at about 8 meters away from the splice) . Does anyone have an idea of a RGB signal booster for the Govee's ? :)

You are totally right! I just went back and checked! I also just got done setting everything up again and I tried the power injection from right after the supply but this time ran the wires to the correct spot and it worked perfectly. The worst flickering I get is because the power here is very dirty. AC bulbs flicker regularly, electronics connected to mains can die, and any LED powered by a regular power supply will flicker as well.
Important things are plugged in to line-filtering UPS units, but I’m still on the hunt for the equivalent in 5v and 12v power supplies so that none of my LEDs will flicker any more.

I have the 150 ft GOVEE (comes with 2 12 ft extensions). I am planning on using just about all 150 ft but planning on splicing multiple areas with smaller 4 ft runs to hop levels. I wasn't planning on using the 2 extensions but using 16/3 wire for small ones. Do you think this will hurt my build? This video has me a little worried now.

1 have (3) 24ft COB LED light strips that are all connected to a 24v power supply. They all turn on but the color changes as it gets further away from the power source. But oddly only when i try to do a "white" color or some variation of white or yellow. It goes from white to almost orange at the end of the lights. Is that a power supply issue? Been thinking of connecting all these lights to that already WLED loaded purple little thing that you made a video about. Would that work?

I am trying to add leds to a brick retaining wall, I am running into all sorts of aesthetic options, first is I am seeing the individual leds (60/m) when looking from the side, how do I hide these? I don't need to fully difuse them and I also have a curve that aluminium channel isn't a good fit for.a
Also, do you know of any RGBWW IC controllers that have google home integration? I can't seem to find one. I can find the strips (SK6812 or WS2811) but can't find a good controller...
    Thanks!
