It feels like you are pointing at opposite sides. When you say convex side, you point at the concave side and pick muscles on the concave side. Really confusing
Just above the hip points there is an acute angle on the left (concave) and an obtuse angle on the right (convex) and then halfway up the lumbar spine it starts to curve the opposite way where we see the larger spinal curve. It then curves back again in the thoracic spine. In his explanation, he is essentially pointing out 3 curve points; right above hip points, middle lumbar spine, and thoracic spine.
So if I have thoracic scoliosis sinistroconvexa, I would have weak right rhomboid and left trapezius and serratus ant.?Also can this cause right lower back pain in the QL region?
Hiiii i have thoracolumbar scoliosis, any tips how to loosen the tension on the muscles?? I currently play the piano and my teacher said that i don't put the weight of my body to the keys when i press a key, i began to wonder why and how so I remember that i have scoliosis and i thought maybe it is a factor on why i can't put the weight on the keys, my teacher also said my muscles are tensed but she wouldn't give me advice how to loosen my tensed muscles because she said she's not a doctor
Hi Adrian, if I may. I'm a licensed Physical Therapist. There are actually a lot of exercises that are simple (as well as specific for scoliosis) which can really help lessen the tension in your muscles and well as certain exercises that can help strengthen those muscles that are weak. But it would greatly depend on the type of scoliosis you have. So if you're interested, I can help and share to you exercises for your scoliosis. :)
Chimes Creer hello, thanks!! I have been in pt sessions a long time ago, maybe 4 years ago. The pt students in plm taught me exercises but I forgot most of them haha.
my right leg is shorter and right glute are weaker ...doctos says I have lumbar scoliosis... did I have to exercise left glute medius and right glute maximus and medius...oh man I cant figure this out
If a leg is shorter on one side than the other due to lumbar Scoliosis you're better off sitting on a seat and actively lengthening the curve in your spine. Sitting on a seat levels your pelvis and helps you focus on Scoliotic curve of the spine
@@ChristopherHoleTraining my pelvis is rotate right if I seat I feel one side of glute in my case I feel left side and the right side is smaller glute and shorter leg
Lidija Petrovic muscle size isn’t as important as lengthening the spine. If your spine has scoliosis focus on lengthening it and your muscles will follow

@christopher can you clarify this? You point to the concave side of the glute and say it is weaker, but your slide says the exact opposite.
Yes! Very confusing. Hard to know what details to trust when he refers to convexity and concavity incorrectly.
OK, he gets it right in the thoracic spine.

Thank you so much man, realy help to understand how does it work.
Thanks, glad it helped
concave surface is on the right but also convex side is on the rightt? I am a bit confusing here with it

I have trapezius pain and a severe scoliosis.
Can it weaken also the lats ?
It can, however it'll depend on the location of the curve

Also, I'm a practicing Physical Therapist in the Philippines. 😊

hey i have thoracolumbar scoliosis as well it curves to the left
Sorry i dont agree with you. Right, side: weak m. Glut. med. and left QL is weak... Look lateral sling musculs, and who work lateral sling
