There are some downsides to this type of setup though including complexity and cost which is why you will more commonly find a MacPherson strut setup on the front of most road cars which doesn’t offer as much adjustment, but does keep manufacturing and running costs down. To get the best of both worlds the team at Radical Sportscars employ the use of a ‘Nick link’ anti-roll bar on their track-focused but road-legal Radical SR3’s which simplifies the setup without compromising the adjustability. A urethane inner bush is also used over a solid bush or Heim joint (rose joint) in order to reduce some of the vibrations and noise that are no problem in a race car but can be problematic on the road.
Also covered is Ackermann steering geometry. Adjusting this is something that is often overlooked, or completely misunderstood but can make a huge improvement in the performance of your setup when dialed in correctly.
