      +Chase McWilliams It is part of the staging process when you see the car jump before they take off that is a bump in. A deep stage is when you move so close to the front of the staging area that you almost red light, which means to go over the start line.

    very impressive car and props to the guy for showing up and SHOWING UP, i would love to see more imports at these events. that being said, it still seems like there is no replacement for displacement, those V-8 when they where making passes without overpowering the track where literally walking away from the nissan. i hope to see more of this guy and hope others follow as it makes these events way more interesting and exciting for me personally

    crazy how many (v8 guys) are hating on this car. The american v8s started drag racing years upon years before the Japanese, and yet this car with 2 less cylinders is still out there giving them hell. Fuck yeah man! If that isn't progress I don't know what is. People have been tuning and modifying there v8 muscle cars for drag racing 2 to 3 times longer than most any jdm 4 or 6 cylinder. this is just me thinking out loud... my own opinion sick video man! keep up the bad ass work!!

    • @Ka1ashOffdog
      @Ka1ashOffdog 9 років тому +7

      +Aidan red I've had a few people get buttmad & tell me to go RB instead of 2JZ when I tell them that it's what I want for a swap in my 240sx, but that's only extreme purists. More people get mad at LS swaps at them for some reason, but those people tend not to even own cars, or if they do, the don't own a 240sx. Still like my SR swap tho, good weight balance for what I want, & my power goals are only 420hp so it's not that bad for what I got

      +Jayson Clark define crash. On the track, or on a road? I'd say if you're on the road, doing 300 is much less dangerous than crashing at 100. But if you're on the track, crashing at 100 is nothing. Crashing at 300, though - now THAT is dangerous.

      +1320video Why would you want to not prep the track though? Like I get the "street" style but you're at a track, take advantage of being able to prep it instead of adding tons of risk to yourself and your opponent.

    • @pandemoniummisfits
      @pandemoniummisfits 9 років тому

      +Eric Sangimino Grudge racing lifestyle it's an equalizer if you will trying to balance power and traction. Granted it's a track so it's a lot more prepped than most street style preps but some fresh VHT goes a long way without that, power becomes less of a factor but rather traction and the driver.

    • @patw52pb1
      @patw52pb1 9 років тому +1

      +Eric Sangimino
      No-prep racing is usually a function of cost.
      These are private events where the track is rented out to a group or individual and that group or individual chooses to go no-prep and or no-time to make it affordable.
      The same goes for certain other track services such as the level of standby fire/rescue/medical and medical transport such as a standby medevac helicopter.
      It costs the track about $5,000 USD to prep the track, a standby ambulance is about $300 USD per hour and a standby medevac helicopter is about $500 USD per hour.
      Some states and some insurance underwriters mandate that the track have both land and air medical transport when operating.
      The timing system costs the track a fixed fee for every recorded pass and an additional fee for every timing slip printed.
      As you can see the costs for an event accumulate quickly.

    • @mattsmith4322
      @mattsmith4322 9 років тому +5

      +Jason Arno Welcome to no prep. You can't get grip, you ain't gonna win. You're gonna do exactly what the other guys that crossed the line did. The 240 did it too a couple times. Part of it's getting your car dialed in just right, part of it''s just plain old luck of the draw. And that 240 was dialed in pretty well.

    • @GCGeekArmy
      @GCGeekArmy 9 років тому +2

      Matt Smith I get that and that 240 is a monster. But the title did not fit the vid. When I see "v8 slayer" I expect to see some 2jz dominance. Simply wasn't the case here.

    • @mattsmith4322
      @mattsmith4322 9 років тому +2

      Jason Arno I guess it all boils down to perspective. Click-bait titles aren't uncommon these days, but I still felt that the 240 lived up to expectations. Especially given that it's only a six cylinder.

      A loss is a loss, how can you call it a V8 "Slayer" when it losses to V8s? You are pretty fucking stupid not to understand this moron. Figured i would point that out.... Dumbass

      Are you an illiterate fool? Considering it a slayer of V8s suggests it doesn't lose to V8s, yet it clearly did. How fucking stupid do you have to be to not understand this?

    v8 slayer? 3 of his wins were due to the other making a bad pass(the tt mustang failed to go 20 feet) then actually had a good race against the tt sbc. Then got walked by the mistress. Then lost to a V8 for the final lel. The 2JZ is a sick build but I definitely wouldn't call it a V8 slayer.

    • @MrMrSvahn
      @MrMrSvahn 9 років тому

      He must have had some issues vs the mistress. Looked hella slow... But yeah you are right, "v8 slayer" might be a bit too cocky..

      +confinedPC The blacked out camaro that we raced where its was a super close (like a fender) finnish, is like the 2nd fastest guy out there. We both had clean passes on that run and were neck and neck, we were turned down a bit because of our alignment issues to keep the car straight out of the hole.. That launch was about 1.75G, when we launch full power the car typically pulls 2.1-2.15G.. Basically now that we fixed some chassis problems, we will be much faster next time out, plus we have another 200HP now that we took out the POS 600HP Air to air intercooler we were using.. ;)

      Oh shut up hater!! It totally destroyed those "v8", that's your excuse?!! I assumed they were "scared" so they were like, "let's launch lame", even the car at 2:01 was like " OK I give up".. 2jz ftw, hate it or love it!!!

    why do those auto cars jolt at the staging. Is it a brake or just putting it in gear

    • @joshg6et98
      @joshg6et98 8 років тому +5

      taizer Its called a bump box. it engages the 1st gear but locks it also and will let it bump 2 inches to get to the line and build up revs to take off well.
