- Here is a railroad crossing with traffic signal preemption. Today I saw it time out, pay attention to the two traffic signals infront of the crossing signal cantilever. The video kind of explains itself.
Eventually, the train comes in, which is GO transit.
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed! - Розваги
Edit: the crossing didn't malfunction, it timed out because the train stopped right after activating it.
Classic example of loss of trust in the signals.
1:15 that’s the highest red light running streak I’ve ever seen.
Since there’s a station close by, the signal thought it was stopped. That’s why it went back up.
Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding
Cool! You finally got to film this running! It's weird that the green light doesn't come on! Also, so many people ran the red haha!
Yeah haha light out indicates the same as green, and yes many people ran it lol
@@Gentrol Interesting! I wonder if they just didn't connect the green but it's "there". I feel like Sean could answer this one for us!
@@TheTrafficTech the greens have since been connected since 2021
The broken gates if train cooming thats dangerous!
Thankfully they were just malfunctioning, reactivated since trains don't go too fast here. It was mainly the trains doing, it must have stopped right after activating the signals, causing the crossing to time out.
Nice find
Fantastic
Thank you!
You shouldn't be able to see the green light at the downstream signal, it's giving conflicting information to the driver.
Thankfully that has since been fixed, I have yet to film it again though
Hey man, that will hurt
Nice video, Like.
Ontario has that type of transit like Buses and Trains. I live in Ontario and we have not seen these before.
I live in Ontario too, and this is in Toronto Ontario.
@@Gentrol I may be a GO Transit and CN fan too.
@@Fxetren very nice!
Do you know a lot of people had their cars destroyed by speeding trains? it's a common disaster that has happened over the years.
It usually isn't even the railroads fault. Usually people ignore the crossing signals and then get hit, and the railroad has to deal with it unfortunately.
I have the same crossing but the traffic lights are black and there’s 3 gates and 2 crossings 2 tracks at one crossing and 1 track on the other crossing
Interesting!
Is that in canada? If so its cool!
Yes! It's in Toronto Ontario Canada, and thank you!
The first one probably didn’t run it because there was a police car lol
Aha the police car did run the red at one point.
Those cars and that police car ran a red light???
Red light means stop..not here it doesn't!
Haha yeah a lot of people ran this one!
Hi i am a new driver and you might think im really dumb lol but I have a question when the lights are green and the rail road train lights are flashing red what should I do?
Hi! This is a very good question. You should stop at the crossing to let the train go by. I hope this helps!
Hey so I’m curious you said that there was an arrow turning on where was it I’m just curious
Its at the intersection behind the tracks, it might be hard to spot at first glance.
Just imagine what a Tesla on full autopilot would try to do
Oooo interesting. I never thought of that. It would probably stop at the first red light
🚦🚦🚦 People have no patience 🚓
Yeah haha I know right?
Red Light Runner Count: 9
The crossing was also probably triggered because the Kennedy GO station isn't far
Yeah, I guess the train had to stop for something right after triggering it.
@@Gentrol it stopped at the station which caused the crossing to time out after sitting for a period of time, then reactivated it.
@@F40-RULES yes exactly, that's what I thought, since it only does that while travelling south from Kennedy.
Actually, Scarborough station, which is between Kennedy and Midland. Perhaps you're thinking of the Kennedy subway station.
@@James_Knottnope, it’s the Kennedy GO station which is attached to the Kennedy Subway station,
The Locomotives are on the rear end of Toronto-Bound trains on the Stouffville Line
What?!
SAFETRAN TYPE 3 HIGH PINCH
This is at danforth rd and midland av
Yes!
Love your videos keep up the great work
Thank you
The mechanical bell on the other side was not working
Yeah it is abandoned. I was surprised about that at first as well. It's kind of dissapointing though.
I know where that is in Toronto Danforth rd and Midland avenue
Yes, that's right!
One cop went through on red and didn’t stop and the other one did stop when he sees the traffic lights turning red
Everyone used to ignore the first set of lights because it was mainly for the crossing. The intersection has now been upgraded and the first set of lights now are always on, and synced with the ones behind until a train is approaching
@@Gentrol yeah going red lights can land you in trouble because CCTV cameras are up there making sure no one breaks the rules mate
@@thebrummierailenthusiasts5329 here we have either officers or red light cameras. The officer obviously didn't care though lol
@@Gentrol well he will be sacked for not stopping at the red lights
@@thebrummierailenthusiasts5329 probably not sadly haha
My request find a hanging traffic light in Niagara region
Any specific kind?
Traffic like that is out hanging by the wire
You mean like broken?
Yes
Well there's not much I can do about that aside from get lucky bahahha
Where in Toronto?
Danforth Rd and Midland, as stated in the comments.
@@Gentrol I used to live around the corner from there, on Granger Ave., and don't recall this. However, that was over 50 years ago. I used to get on the GO train at Scarborough station. I guess this crossing is on Danforth facing east, at the Unionville line, just west of Midland.
Wow! Thank you for sharing.
What?!!!!!! (((!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What great examples cops set... 🙄😒
Yeah, the cops here in T.O are really dumb sometimes...
@@Gentrol It's the same here in STL. What you heard about back in 2014 was just a small sample of reality here.
I guarantee you have more teeth than all my local law enforcement.
Damn that's pretty sad...
What street is it on?
It's at Danforth (Danforth road, there are two Danforths) and Midland in T.O.
@@Gentrol Thanks!
@@jessedarwich4121 you're welcome! Anytime :3
@@Gentrol Just went there on maps, and discovered that it has a dead/retired (I don't know which) Safetran Mech bell on the far cantilever!
Yeah it does! I believe it's a Safetran bell but I'm not 100% sure. I believe it was abandoned when they installed the new GS Type 3 E-Bell. The crossing originally had two mechanical bells until then.
Cops running red lights
Yeah, it's certainly something haha
everyone and even cops runs the red haha
I know right? Now imagine that cop pulling someone else over because they ran a red light. haha
