Röyksopp is great, Susanne Sundfør is amazing, together they are magical! The song is sad though.. I can literally feel the panic and pain the kids on the island Utøya must have felt when being shot at like they were sitting ducks with almost nowhere to hide on the tiny little island. When running to the sea in hope of escaping the bullets, mainland must have seen so far away and for several of the kids it was out of reach.

This song is about the Utøya massacre in Norway 22 July 2011, the children on the island where literally running to the sea, trying to escape. Röyksopp had people submit videos for this and had people vote for their favorite. The chosen one is very emotionally powerful.

well. If the lyrics mean that to you then thats fine. But where does that car come into the picture?
I think this song can mean lots of things. Some even suggested Pompei, people running to the sea. Me idk, but its a great song

@@Battlenude You are absolutly right. The meaning is rather subjective for each individual. But it gives the song richness that people can identify with it :)

@@Battlenude One reaches a larger audience when lyrically it's not SPECIFIC ...
~ more universal ... that's likely why the lyrics aren't literal beyond a few phrases ...

Just to clarify a little about the terrorist attacks on 22 July in 2011.
Because there were two attacks done on the same day, by the same man.
*The first attack* was on the ''Regjeringskvartalet'' (Norwegian Government Quarter), with a (fertilizer-based) car bomb on a timer.
When the bomb went off, a lot off things was going on....
*Generally, a lot of confusion and fear.* Was it an Islamic attack? A retaliation of Osama Bin Laden's death?
There was a lot of suspicion going around, and many with Arabic background were afraid of a potential mob mentality (whether of small isolated nature or a larger widespread scale).
*The ''Beredskapstroppen''* (Norway's version of S.W.A.T.) was concentrating their attention on the Government Quarter, handling all the misinformation. Trying to get control of all fear and confusion going around.
Would there be another attack on one of the political target? (Sadly yes)
Would the royalty , Prime minister, the ''Stortingsbygget'' (parliament building), an embassy or the train station next? (no)
*8 people died and at least 209 were wounded from the bomb.*
While all of this was going on, Anders Breivik was well on his way to the place of *his second attack* .
The Annual AUF (Workers' Youth League) summer camp at Utøya island, dressed as a police officer armed with a Glock 34, a Ruger mini-14 and a lot of hollow pointed ammunition.
When he arrived at the island, he started to kill the young teenagers, young adults and adults of the camp. Yelling out "You are going to die today, Marxists!" and the like.
He would also be trying to lure out his victims by saying that they had the shooter under control and it was safe to come out.
During all of this, many would *run out to the sea* and hide there. wondering if they should try to swim to the mainland or wait for rescue boats.
After 1 and a half hours was stopped by the police special unit.
*69 was killed, the youngest being 14 years old. And at least 110 wounded.*
    Between the two attacks...
77 dead and many more wounded.
    And a very angry nation.

Röyksopp and Susanne worked together a couple of times. On the same show they did an amazing cover of 'Ice Machine', an old Depeche Mode song. Another song of them together is 'Never Ever', a very catchy dance song.

Watching Americans reacting to songs I get the impression that it’s hard for Americans to catch metaphors and they’ll stick to the literal words. Is it just me? I could be wrong 😂

You should check: Röyksopp - Ice Machine (Depeche Mode cover) Live on Lydverket
If you like the Röysopp kind of electronic sound, you might also like nåid.
Stakka Bo, Nåid, Tityo, The Fleshquartet - We Vie
Female singer here is Titiyo, who made a great hit with Come Along in 2001 in Europe, but did not reach outside Europe for some reason. It is a also great song, written by Peter Svensson known from The Cardigans and Joakim Berg who in Sweden is known from a band kalled Kent. Both have worked with other artists such as Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, G-Eazy, Meghan Trainor, Sage The Gemini, Avril Lavigne, AVICII, Miriam Bryant, Veronica Magigo and Eagle-Eye Cherry.
Now Eagle-Eye Cherry is interesting since he is the half brother of Neneh Cherry. They have the same mother. Neneh Cherry is however also half sister to Titiyo, but they share the same father.

    - so you found this one - it is a piece of art - It would be interesting if you did Susannes "Music for people in trouble" ua-cam.com/video/Abet-OycQpE/v-deo.html - there is not drums on that one, that makes it stand out. An entire record without drums. A weird piece of art
