Keeping Eberflus to develop Caleb because a hundred million dollar defense started playing well last season is quintessential Bears. Poles needs to be under fire too, all those weapons are meaningless if your QB has 18 nanoseconds in the pocket.
I'm fine with what Poles has done but I don't think Flus is the right answer for anyone on this offense - if/when he's let go, Poles would likely have another shot at hiring another HC before they do anything different with him.
He definitely needs to take the lines more seriously this off-season though, hopefully having the skill players we do now can suffice and we can dedicate some hefty draft & salary capital to the trenches.
Poles is fine, as long as he takes strides in changing the offense this season/ off season. Fire Morgan, our oline run cord TODAY. Pull everyone into a room Monday and put them in a hot seat. Scare the coaching staff and put the oc in the playcalling box, he literally shakes in the field. He isn’t up to that pressure. Eberflus is an amazing dc, but if he won’t go there he has to be gone at the end of this season if he can’t get the offense going this season

What strikes me most interesting about Justin Fields is that they've somehow gotten him away from those crippling, game losing mistakes he often made in Chicago. I think they have him sticking to basics first, then letting him slowly re-expand his skills as he demonstrates he can be trusted. I'm enjoying seeing this (and I'm a Seattle fan, fwiw). I suspect Wilson's calf will remain sore for weeks to come. Also cool to see Malik Willis playing very good football when no one expected it. Matt LaFleur knows what he is doing. Indy & Chicago was painful to watch on Redzone and apparently young QBs in the NFL are generally going to be be bad these days. Kinda like it used to be "when I was a boy". I just feel bad for Miami. When Tim Boyle has to take the field, things are dark. And the funniest thing of the day is the 49ers forgetting to win. Fear Stafford. He still is lethal.
What you're talking about is desperation. In an effort to pull a win out of their ass they start lobbing up prayers downfield and scrambling like crazy throwing ints and taking 10+ yard sacks on the regular. If you asked me what we should have done in the offseason, we should have kept fields, sold the #1 tried to get MHJ and then went all in on Oline to protect justin. But that doesn't buy a 3 year rookie contract buffer for Poles and Flus and we'd have to pay justin a bigger contract. Textbook bears bullshit, yet again. I hope justin goes absolutely nuts this season. All he has to do is be consistent and not make mistakes and the steelers will be a PROBLEM.
Jacoby Brissett should get paid $50M in hazard pay just for sitting behind that OLine. The Patriots genuinely cannot play Maye. They can’t risk it. The Bears are solidifying a team management rule in this league. If you're not 100% confident in your HC and you have a top 5 pick to take your franchise QB, you need to sack your HC. It's more important to give your rookie QB consistency in coaching than it is to give a potential coach a second chance.

There was one thing I said regarding mocking the Bears earlier today. The Colts average rushing yards allowed per game was 237. The leading rusher of the Bears at that moment had 31 yards (he lost a yard after that) and they ended with 67 yards on the ground. Against the absolute worst run defense in the League. Well this was a confidence booster for that DL, minus the injuries. Speaking of injuries, scary to see the Seahawks lose their big free agent (Leonard Williams) and our first round rookie both go out of the game with rib and hamstring injuries respectively. We can only hope they get healthy before we face the Lions next weekend. One other thing to point out. Only 2 undefeated teams remain in the NFC and both are helmed by a 1st round QB... who was drafted by the Jets. Jets were mocked for their QB evaluation but as it turns out, they had a good eye for QBs, just not a good eye for how to build around them or develop them.
Saints game was lost from combination of Erik Mccoy getting injured and Taysom Hill being injured. Erik Mccoy through the first two weeks was the best offensive linemen in the league and the qb of the offensive line. Loosing him in the begging of the game destroys your run game, hence destroying your ability to pass the ball in the Kubiak offense. This in combination with the playbook being limited without Taysom hill made the offense similar to how it did last year. Carr wasn't entirely at fault because his JV squad of an oline couldn't block the interior(that's what happens when you have 2-3 position changes on the line). I believe the team will still be good, but you need to stay healthy with Taysom and Erik Mccoy to even partially run the Kubiak offense
Eagles did everything to piss the game away (like normal). I believe they won solely because the football gods were angered by blatant intentional injuries.

All I can say is that there will not be a team going 0-17 this season, especially since the Panthers (the worst team currently from an ownership and roster standpoint) have a W. As of now, only the Jaguars, Bengals and Titans are still winless, but the Jaguars and Bengals are way too talented to not pick up a W eventually. As for the Titans, you only need one team to get complacent and fall for a "trap game", and that will snuff out any hopes of a team going winless.
John Harbaugh is simply too passive of a coach. Caleb looked pretty good this week imo but the bears play calling is not that great and the o line needs a lot of work the coaching staff needs a re work cuz i don't wanna see caleb be in the same situation as justin but it seems to be heading that way
First I’m not insulting you rather highlighting the nuance of human learning and the dinning Kroger effect. It’s just entertaining in itself to me how much we try to deduce with the least information from the least experience and minimal perspective. These are pros they prepare all week strategically and are the best humans at any position even the guys you don’t know from madden and fantasy. Those “no names” are only a little bit less effective than career pro bowlers. Career pro bowls are just a little bit less effective than HOFers. watching the Bears Redzone offense this year compared to what Ryan Grubb is doing to Seattle's Offense makes me feel bad for Bears fans. Offensive line issues and i never liked his play calling. every 70+ yard TD to DK feeds families and they were starving last couple of years
Caleb looked pretty good this week imo but the bears play calling is not that great and the o line needs a lot of work the coaching staff needs a re work cuz i don't wanna see caleb be in the same situation as justin but it seems to be heading that way
Eat those words my brotha
The Jets put on a show
Packers looked good without love. I don’t think they need to rush him back in.
Jets beat the Pats in January 2024… It was Belichicks last game as coach of the Pats.
The Vikings are going to the super bowl!!!
To me it’s amazing how the margins look so much greater to us but in reality it’s so much smaller.
Some teams aren’t as good as we think and some not as bad.
If Minnesota make the playoffs and go on a deep run I'm not going back to the bench if I'm Sam Darnold
It wasn’t the first win for the jets against the Patriots since 2015 it’s the first home win since 2015 the Jets are 2-0 against the Patriots in 2024
Malik Nabers may be the next coming of Randy Moss, Odell Beckham and Justin Jefferson. Daniel, keep feeding him the ball.
Malik is definitely an absolute beast. My favorite WR in the NFL(as a Chiefs fan).
as a bears fan PLEASE BEARS TRADE / DRAFT FOR OLINEMEN !!!! go bears 🐻😢
Justin Fields vs Sam Darnold super bowl is inevitable
Wtf
