The writing, casting and ever-playful chemistry, set within an inspired choice of situation made this a real gem of a programme. This is back when many actors were formed in the repertory theatre tradition and knew their way around Shakespeare.
I love the way they became best friends with their neighbors over the course of this show. And Penelope Keith stole the show, she was so funny and brought so much to the show. And Paul Edington was so sexy!!! Something about him!
only series one has bits missing...pt 2 and 3 from the first show, pt 3 from the 2nd show, pt 3 from the 5th show... may be one more mssing bit, can't remember.... episode 3, 4, 6, and 7 are intact, as is the rest of the series. My local library has the whole series on dvd for loan, your's might too.
Waste not, want not, pick it up and stoke it! Small wonder Ben Franklin came from England prior to America's founding. Inventor Spirit, made us independant and Britain an empire.

Tom: I happen to think I've just created perpetual motion here...
Jerry: But nothing's moving.
They would've loved solar panels if they'd had them easily available that stage.
