Burnie, just a little correction for what you said on 13:25. Trabzon was conquered in 1461 by Sultan Mehmet II. He died in 1481. Aside the history, your videos are very beautiful. I hope more and more people subscribe to your channel and they get a chance to see your high-quality work. I like the ending of your videos where you say "These are our last looks." Simple but poetic, and it makes you think. All the best.
@@lastlooks5434Greece is the most Beautiful Country. Anything worth visiting in turkey is Hellenic. This is why the turks hate Greeks. They will always have these reminders of what their ancestors did to the Greatest Civilization ever when it was at it’s weakest point. The Greco-Roman One 🏛👌🏻
Soumela is a Greek Orthodox Monastery. This is the Traditional Monastic Building Style of the Greeks. Check Mount Athos or Meteora in Greece to see the similarities. Pita is a Greek Word & comes from Deep Antiquity btw. The turks renamed it to Pide to fit their language. Horon = Means DANCE in the Greek Language, the main Dance Style in Pontos, the Black Sea Greek Region since Antiquity. Lyra = The Instrument played by the gentleman in this video is the Main Instrument of the Greeks in this region, as noted even by many Medieval Iranic Speaking Historians who called it in their language: Kemence, which was taken by the turks & used in their language today as well. The earliest Full Depiction of this more Modern Looking Lyra is found in Byzantine Greek Carved Marble. There is an even more Ancient Version by the Ancient Greeks. Just a few little Notes to help you understand the actual history if this region 👍🏻
Sevgiler Selamlar 🍀🖐🏻🖐🏻
Mr Burns, because of your education, you called everything as Greek Culture where you saw a church or ruins in Turkey. These are mostly Roman, not Greek. Of course Greek Culture is a part of Anatolian history. But not all. Most of the cultural life before ottoman is effected by Roman (Rum-Byzantium) Culture. And before of all this things, Anatolia was a cultural mozaic has Phrygia, Hittites, Urartu, Maeonia, Lydian, Assuwa, Ahhiyawa, Kappadokia, Troy and many more. Greek Culture is not cover all of them, Greek Culture is only a part of Anatolian Culture which highly effected from anatolian civilisations... Besides, thanks for your payless works...BR
Thank you my friend! I am still learning the cultural history. I have hired a researcher and will do better in upcoming shows! Your notes are greatly appreciated!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🇹🇷
You totally write the when one talk about Ancient Greeks then we are talking of about BC time cause Roman has taken all the Greek civilization and Greek civilization declined before christ

Correction; the churches visited in this video are all Greek Orthodox. The cultures you named did not occupy the Trabzon area :)
