- You know when you are driving around Kailua Kona and see a building or a road and you never knew what was in there or down that road? Well, we uncover five of these in this video for you!
One of these, One Aloha Shave Ice, is a building you drive by ALL the time off of Kuakini Highway and probably have never stopped to taste this DELICIOUS Hawaii treat made with natural flavors.
Or how about driving down Lunapule Road and there's a white building with little shops..you will find TeaLicious Kona and it's quaint tea room and delicious pastries.
Enjoy finding a hidden garden? Then you will be happy to discover the Sadie Seymore Botanical Garden with its trellises of blue jade ivy and red and yellow Mysore Trumpet vines. Bonus is the Full Circle Thrift Store. Further north of town, have you driven past the Natural Energy Lab (NELHA) and wondered if there was a beach down there? There is!
How about Moku'aikaua Church? The oldest Christian church in Hawaii sits right in the center of Kailua Kona with its beautiful spire behind wrought iron gates. (There is a story you will discover in the video about our attempts to show you the interior!)

Love your videos! We went to the Big Island in February 2012 for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Stayed at Kona hotel. Stayed for two weeks. Had a great time. We came to see the lava flow and it had stopped two weeks before we got there. But still went to the Volcano National park. And really got to see most of the Island. We renewed our vows outside this beautiful church. We are coming back in February for our anniversary again. Going to stay for two weeks. And I hear the lava stopped flowing again. Still, can't wait to get there and see the places we didn't get to. Such a beautiful place. We live in Florida so it takes us about 17 hours to get there. But it's worth it! From one Paradise to another Aloha!
Hello. I’ve just subscribed.
Thank you for showing us the “not so touristic” Big Island.
My love goes to the Aina and all the people that love her.
💗💗💗
❤😊😊
I think there is a Abalone farm in that area, thanks for all the great video's
There is!
Mahalo for acknowledging the original place names. Mo-ku-ʻai-ka-ua and Wa-wa-lo-li
Tealicuous is the bomb and we will definitely have to check out these other spots!
It wasn't Thurston Howell the Third? ;-)
Hoping to get back to Kona in 2023. Nice to see these 'new' places - it will be our 10th visit. :0) Suggestion: when you are all done - put up a map of locations of the places. Then we can do a 'screen shot' and have itfor handy reference. Loved the beach and recognized the area near the airport - but didn't realize you could get to a beach there. Definitely on our 'to do' list for next visit. Thanks for all your hard work. What a way to make a living, right??? 😁Hello to Caylin and we will be in touch for a 'family shoot' in 2023 if she is available. LOVE our 50th Anniversary photos!!
Fun video! Mahalo! Sitting at Beach 69 (sorry! Gotta learn the correct name) watching this today. Wanna hit up the shaved ice and gardens tomorrow. Tea house before we fly out Wednesday.
I love you guys. Thank you 💗 Can you please tell me which luau is best & which helicopter ride should we take...want to see waterfalls and volcano 🌋
Everyone likes the Royal Kona Resort luau and the King Kam Courtyard Marriott one in Kona..and if you want to splurge, the one at the Mauna Kea Resort is fantastic. I think there is only one helicopter tour going over the volcano and you take it out of Hilo. Paradise?
Thank you 😊 I appreciate your help very much.
@@365Hawaii Thanks for the Luau tips. Been there/done that - but our kids haven't.
It would help if you would show where these places are!! Would love to know where the shaved 🍧 ice is located!
Please folks!!! It is SHAVE ICE not shaved ice. I know it sounds weird/gramatically incorrect…but you will immediately be identified as an uneducated tourist if you say shaved ice
What is the shaved ice place called?? It looks tasty!
What is the name of the shaved ice place?
Love
THanks!!
@@365Hawaii you both remind me of living with nature and love, very peaceful
fun is floating with the good spirts of vines from trees, yes, very well said folks
Thanks you, already viewed your video on Malasadas and I have had them from Punaluu bakery, they are so good. Will try the other ones when I come back in 22. Had to cancel my trip in May because you know why, Covid.
Yes..hopefully COVID will not be an issue in spring of 22
Love your videos! I know your not vegan but would love to see a vegan food tour. 🌱
Is there just no Hawaiian music available through UA-cam to add to Hawaiian videos?
The Shaved Ice place is the Best on the Hawaii'n Islands!!
shave ice
When I was growing up in Kona the closest traffic lights were in Hilo
There were no stoplights in Kona
Where is shaved ice located
Sorry they went out of business.
shave ice
The shave ice is the best there!!
Eric and Julie, find the best Malasadas on the Island
We DID that video, Wayne! ua-cam.com/video/YZydmPn1xFk/v-deo.html
Was that the kona or Hilo side? 🌼
Don't just stay in the Kona area. The best snorkeling in the world is at Two step. You missed that. Mauna Kea Resort is also amazing to see and snorkel. Take a drive over saddleback road to Hilo. Visit South Point. The furthest south point of the US. The best way to see that Church is to attend on Sunday. We have done that multiple times. You missed so much to do there.
Hana is on Maui
@@1cccseed Whoops, I meant Hilo. Fixed it. Thanks.
Check out their channel. They have made videos on every place you have named.
