Something I really love about the Amish is the way they're ready at a moment's notice to pitch right in and help if someone needs something. That surfer guy simply mentioned wanting a vegetable patch and some chickens, and BOOM, those kids were digging the garden and building the coop. Their way of helping others is beyond impressive, it's actually downright touching and beautiful.
@Nick Fuentes's mommy's tits neither. You can't ask who's least evil between a serial killer and rapist and a serial killer and necrophiliac. They're both equally sick
But also that made them excited cuz thats what they do in their lives, handwork and farmwork so they were eager to finally do what they are accustomed to

I found this to be such an inspiring documentary... both on the part of the Amish kids and the teens they met, the level of openness and listening to others blew me away. I wish I could have sat with someone so radically different from me as a teen and had the maturity to listen the way these kids did. A lot to be learned from this..
As an Irish Catholic raised older gay man and traditional Irish Catholic patriot living in the U.K. 21 years who returned to my traditional Catholic faith 18 years ago, there is much of value and many important lessons that we can all learn from listening to these Amish young people visiting the U.K. - despite our advances in so many ways, given the important lessons taught to us by Covid, it’s an important reminder of what we have lost sight of, that being the eternal truths of God - I pray that Jesus Christ our Lord will protect them on thier journeys, as thier lives of faith are a living example to us all 🇮🇪☘️🇬🇧🇺🇸🙏❤️
This is "reality TV": there is a constructed narrative and the producers tell those involved what to say. Don't take it at face value, even if the message is good.
I have lived next door to an Amish community for a summer.. I found them to be the most neighborly and kind Christians that exist! And this one thing convinced me of it they tend to their own business instead of destroying others lives and habitats!
*Responding to a 2 year old comment* *Throws him some random proposition out of annoyance* Patrick was sharing an experience living beside amish people, what's the issue?.
I was really surprised at the end when Leah Miller said that the experience has made her think that she might like to live in another country and accept some changes. I'm glad that they all realized that you don't have to change your morals and fundamental beliefs to embrace something new.
Its too bad they titled this "the squarest" - I think these Amish kids are awesome and thank them for sharing their lives in this video and wish them the best of luck.
I agree with you Nick. These Amish kids aren't easily swayed by worldly things. Their lives have not been corrupted, yet. This video changed me a little.
For real, I like to drink but I always felt that bars are nothing but a place to go and eventually get your teeth nocked in or out, who needs that, I think I'll mix a rum and coke and go fish our big lovely pond for some cats.
My sister told me about a plumber from Chicago who converted. She didn't know much more about it than that--but she said it was very disciplined, strict and hard to get in--but possible.
Yes and no. The one young woman was speaking confidently regarding the role of the woman for her man then afterwards mentioned how she probably needed to get back with ones who believed as she did. That came off as insecure and timid to me. Being familiar with very conservative Christians, not necessarily Amish, she sounded exactly like them in how they got things figured out though with some shallow roots of understanding. Tradition and community matter along with a lack of critical thinking and personal authenticity. Beware the ones who are autonomous and free thinkers, lest they be judged as "worldly" or "English". Moral: Everyone, every community is flawed ( "sinners" ) and has to reckon with themselves honestly and humbly.
@@machtnichtsseimann That isn't insecurity, that's wisdom. (Proverbs 13:20) God teaches us to not be unequally yolked and to not be like the world. (2 Corinthians 6:14; Romans 12:2) Being around people that think very differently and trying to be yourself creates tension and clashes. So although you can have those relationships, you have to be true to God and who He made you to be. He called us out of the world. So we're here to love and share the gospel, to be the friend when a friend is needed, but not to become like the world and not to entertain the world's practices. The Bible says, iron sharpens iron, meaning children of God sharpen one another spiritually. (Proverbs 27:17) Bad communications corrupts good manners. (1 Corinthians 15:33)True Christians crave to be around other true Christians because we love God in such a way that it can't be fully explained to an unbeliever. Although we do try to explain it. We try to explain that with faith, He does reveal Himself to you personally and during your journey with Him. We're confident in God and we abhor sin and we also abhor spending time in environments riddled in sin because we want everyone to be saved and we ourselves don't want to be corrupted. (1 Corinthians 15:33) The flesh is weak, but the spirit is willing. (Matthew 26:41)
@@jesusismylordsavior6604 - It's a matter of semantics and interpretation. IMO, Christians are FAR more like every other human being on earth than what you refer to as being "called out of the world". ( Have you met/known a Christian who was an amazing ass and a Non-Christian who seemed like Jesus Himself? ) What about being salt and light? Jesus was judged as being a sinner because he interacted with prostitutes and drunkards. How often do you see and know of Christians spending time in bars or strip clubs or red light districts? Have you? I at least have spent time in bars and around partiers. And you know what? It brought connection and bonding and the kind of joy that "wine" can bring. And generally in life the more I realized God's love for me the more it spilled out to "the world". It also humbled me far more to the point where I saw the hypocrisy in my own heart and life and found MUCH MORE commonality with Non-Christians than I thought possible. Humans are complex and multi-faceted; I've known boring and narrow-minded Believers and fascinating and impressive Non-Believers. And vice versa! LoL "Being around people that think very differently and trying to be yourself creates tension and clashes." Is all tension bad? Is it always "worldly" as in the corrupting sense of "the flesh"? Maybe the Spirit would want you ( as I believe the Spirit has done in my life ) to expand your thinking and deepen it with "outsiders". It's not as if Christians ONLY have "truth". And if there is any insecurity or fear or pride that the Spirit wants to root out in you ( and me ), then why not be open to it. Why not be open to being richly blessed ( and blessing them, btw ). It is all too common for Christians, since they are human beings, to "resist" change that doesn't fit their paradigms, and if they were taught and conditioned by traditions / parents / pastors-teachers who themselves are beholden to their own interpretations ( which can be inaccurate or wrong...again no one has absolute clarity and truth in their pocket...we all "know in part" ), then why not be open to change and adventure and growth? This will probably come off as arrogant, suffice to say I am no better than you in fundamental dignity and value, although this is my sincere plea and reply to you: Fellow Christians who mean well and/or spiritual lies that are birthed in distraction and destruction seem to have deeply deceived you into avoidance and separation from those who NEED GOD'S LOVE AND YOUR LOVE THE MOST! To stay away and "hope for the better" is a denial that the Enemy persuades Christians to participate in. To their impotence and to the world's peril. You are MUCH STRONGER than you think, mentally and spiritually. It would be different if you said that many are called to other roles in the Kingdom that are more directly immersed in a multitude of the world's affairs, but you aren't. You are only stating one dimension, and that IMHO is flat out wrong. And it actually sounds "worldly" as in: I'm only in it for me and my people. A lot of Non-Believers act the same way. There are many positions and opportunities where legalistic types of the Faith Community will judge such people as worldly ( again, as the Pharisees condemned Jesus for being "worldly" as well ).
@@machtnichtsseimann Well I don't think you understood what I wrote. I tried to convey it well over text without texting too much, but even with the length I stopped at, it wasn't enough. Anyways, going out into the world and speaking with all kinds of people is not the issue. Jesus came for the sick, the broken, those that were sinners _and_ knew that they needed help. Prideful sinners who feigned righteousness were the Pharisees and they were rebuked. I'm talking about close knit circles of friendship. The Holy Spirit has lead me to minister to some people and there are people that He's lead me to separate myself from. After speaking with and sharing the gospel with unbelievers (some were my closest friends) I kept communicating with them normally. That is until a feeling of conviction came over me because two of my best friends were almost too worldly and our conversations were always ungodly to a very bad extent. (One dabbled in witchcraft which I hadn't fully noticed until later on.) I listened to the conviction of the Holy Spirit and explained why I had to go. I told him the gospel and showed him love of course, but I knew I had to obey so I did. So once again, we are called to spread the gospel and love, but we aren't called to be everyone's best friend. We're the light in the world only because of Jesus' light in us. Sometimes people accept the gospel right away, some later on, and some never do. I just learned to listen to the conviction of the Holy Spirit in the area of friendships and He's lead me into fellowships with fellow believers that really love God with all their heart and I hadn't had that before until a couple of months ago. Iron really does sharpen iron. Unless less God tells me to go to a club or a party because someone there needs His love and His word there, you won't find me there. I follow His instructions or else I'd be lost. (Proverbs 3:5-6) Anywho, I hope you have a goodnight and stay safe! Goodbye! 😄👋🏼 2 Corinthians 6:14 - Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
@@jesusismylordsavior6604 - "...without texting too much." LoL. I thought you already wrote quite a bit, but evidently, yes, it would have been better if you had been more precise in your thoughts. It came off as very general and vague with verses taken out of context towards broader-than-intentioned application. It's difficult to discuss with any Christian when they use God and "the Holy Spirit" unless you are truly open to questions and skepticism and critical thinking. If they are defensive and insist that every time they "believe" that "God" or "the Holy Spirit" is leading or talking to them it absolutely is accurate, then my disagreements with you might lead you to being hurt, offended, or worse, angry. To put the shoe on the other foot, I don't expect you to simply agree with any of my assertions that God's leading in my life are always and absolutely accurate, though we are coming to some different convictions and conclusions about the Bible and the Spirit's leading. Do we follow an insecure and shifty and untrustworthy "god"? Is my relationship with God true and yours false? Is yours true and mine false? I think you are straying off-topic and making possibly contradicting points. Are you saying you cannot be best friends with a Non-Believer? If not, that's a shame. ( Being "equally yoked" pertains to marriage, not friendship. ) If so, then good. My original take on the Amish gal is what you were responding to, but now, not sure where you're going. If her sense of security is only when she is "back in the community", then that is the definition of insecurity. If one is not secure in oneself and is only found through others giving it to them, then there is a rootedness problem. Like a house built on sand. When "outsiders" come with actually good and intelligent ( God-given ) questions and opinions and wisdom, then such a Believer will hide from greater strength and power and inner security that could be forged. Common sense: if a financial planner who is wise and successful and who happens to be an Atheist gives me sound advice to "sharpen" my insight, do I reject it because they aren't iron? Doesn't make sense. I would listen with an open mind and heart and thank God for such wisdom through such a planner. They might have good insight on God, too, for all I know. [ Side Note: "Iron sharpens iron" might not be positive as you and I thought. See: www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/justin-taylor/what-if-iron-sharpening-iron-in-the-book-of-proverbs-is-actually-something-to-avoid/ ] You continue to bring up 2 Corinthians and not being "unequally yoked". It doesn't pertain to friendships; the context pertains to marriage. The context of this video and of my opinions is regarding interacting with people in general, as the gals here with the English. ( Aside from that, I can be of "like mind" with Non-Believers on a host of issues and values. Do you not see that possibility? And of course, there is a kind of connection with a fellow Believer that I do not experience with Believers, but...there are too many examples both Pro and Con that I alluded to before that you didn't address, so I won't waste my time further on that. Consider this: I almost married a God-loving woman and we were unequally yoked. We made the wise decision to part ways. ] God already "told you" to visit prisoners, help orphans, and Jesus hung out with drunkards and prostitutes. Leading by example, teaching us and giving us some brainstorm ideas. I'm not implying I've done all those things, but some of them in various forms at various times I have. Why would you be lost if you did those things? Oh, well. If you meant to have the last word and drop the mic, then that's unfortunate. Seems like you are not open to discussion and disagreement and other points of view, from a Believer or not. 2 Timothy 1: " 7 For God hath not given to us the Spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
I fear that's a particularly male trait these days. I feel bad for your generation. You live in a gynocracy. By 19 I had a harem of women to choose from. 1/10th of all men will never even have kissed a girl (mostly due to the demographic skew of China, but regardless that's a tragic number). Everyone loves to throw out the “wives submit to your husband”, while completely forgetting about the following verse about both submitting to each other. And men and women ARE equal. May have different roles, sure, but nowhere does the Bible say men and women aren’t equal. The New Testament was actually shocking with how much more women were valued and seen as co-laborers of the Gospel, uprooting prior Roman/Jewish cultural norms regarding treatment of women as lesser than than men. “There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” Having a belief women are “less” than men distorts the Gospel message completely and opens the door for all sorts of horrific spiritual abuse. Mutuality is the key of the Gospel message, just as it was in the Garden prior to the Fall. “Helper” doesn’t mean “servant”. In John Walton’s commentary, he writes: “The word “helper” is common enough as a description of someone who comes to the aid of or provides a service for someone. It carries no implications regarding the relationship or relative status of the individuals involved. In fact, the noun form of the word found in this verse as used elsewhere refers almost exclusively to God as the One who helps his people. If we expand our investigation to verbal forms, we find a continuing predominance of God as the subject, though there are a handful of occurrences where people help people. In this latter category we find people helping their neighbors or relatives (Isa. 41:6), people helping in a political alliance or coalition (Ezra 10:15), and military reinforcements (Josh. 10:4; 2 Sam. 8:5). Nothing suggests a subservient status of the one helping; in fact, the opposite is more likely. Certainly “helper” cannot be understood as the opposite/complement of “leader.”
Christians ought to use different language now than "help-mate" or "helper". I've heard these terms for decades and they fall on deaf ears to those who didn't grow up in church. How about "partner". Then the conversation would entail "roles" and varying strengths and differences between a husband and wife. ( EX: my mother was actually a born handywoman and my dad was definitely not! He was good in sales, she was not! ) Your breakdown of the context and verses is admirable, but IMHO the Amish gal here sounds a bit narrow-minded, as admirable and confident as the Amish are in how they interpret the Bible and the "role" of woman. My thought is: Proverbs 31 woman. Do the Amish remember and/or honor Verse 16? "She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard." In today's world wouldn't that mean an Amish woman being free to gain a real estate license and sell properties? Let's get real here. They have their own lens of tradition and other individuals and families and communities outside of the Amish people and culture have theirs. Being a more "traditional" wife is noble and fine and good, but even the Bible doesn't exactly spell out every detail of how a "wife" should act and be in terms of "roles". That is why the English lasses laughing about staying at home and just being there to support their husband sounded like a prison sentence! LoL. Actually, both the Amish and the English here have good points that expand each other's perspectives if they are truly open-minded and courageous enough to entertain greater opportunities.
@ent|ty It was Paul, not Jesus. Maybe we're at a place today where many marriages where women are born leaders would have as their particular model the wife having the final say. Maybe Jesus would be entirely fine with that, but we in our steeped traditions or worse, male chauvinism, wouldn't tolerate that. Christ already elevated the status of women quite radically 2000 years ago, so maybe He would do much moreso now. If it's too confusing or folks don't want to change, then stay with the man being the CEO in charge of most decision-making.
One of the best series I have watched in a long time. May the love of God go with each one of these young people wherever God may lead them. Ty for letting us be along on your journey.
Submit to your husbands, but it also says husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church. Some people miss the second part and just think it is just based on wives submitting.
Unfortunately, where men have the financial power in the family, it tends to be that way though. And since they are all in the same boat, abuse abounds but is rarely talked about. I grew up just east of Shipshewana in northern Indiana.

What this series has reminded me of is that we are all simply products of our experiences, the people around us who were able to influence us, and the major institutions around us. And we can't blame people for believing what they believe because they experienced different things from us, an who they are is a result of how they responded to those experiences. But we can talk with them and get to know them as people.

@Motivation Archives, as an adult or a young person, you can always make a spiritual journey on your own, pick up a Bible and start reading or even find a church close to your home, when I was in high school before I was old enough to drive, I made a decision to start going to church, my parents had no interest in going with me so I walked to church on Sunday, and home I’m guessing it was roughly a mile from my home I didn’t mind the walk I actually enjoyed it, I had some time to reflect on my life and what I wanted out of my life someday ❤❤ Unfortunately I had a massive stroke in 2015 and I can’t walk that far anymore and my husband won’t drive me so I have looked into online services in my town and I have only been able to find 1 church with online services and I don’t care for that pastor, so I will continue to look by towns surrounding mine.
@@teamcougarssorry you’re dealing with these physical limitations. I agree with your points. Further, some communities of Amish do not permit vernacular Bibles. I admit I find this romanticization troubling. (Even some of the religious points made are based on mistranslation of the Hebrew.)
Guys have no idea what they want. You can't have your cake and eat it too. These girls most likely never have sex with their husbands unless it's to breed, they aren't kinky, they get ragged and old looking very fast because beauty is not in their favor. You're used to seeing photoshopped girls.. but these girls look like every normal girl after she gets out of the shower and goes to bed. Difference is that they wear weird clothes. Sounds to me like you're not very experienced or date some weird people. One day when you get older you'll realize how good you really have it. These women expect men to do everything! Most men these days expect their wife to work, Amish women don't work and they don't do a lot of jobs men in regular society expect women to do. You take women forgranted, because you don't realize how stubborn and strict it really is for these people. I doubt they do foreplay, suck dick or wear sexy underwear.
These girls are also very serious and take things literally. Imagine you're dating your great grandmother.. that's what you'd be dealing with. You can't joke around with them and be all whatever about it because they would most likely find what you're saying offensive. My boyfriend can say certain words and I know he's either talking in general or kidding around.. but if you saying "Wow this is such a bitch to handle" or listening to your favorite modern music, these girls would judge you fast and tell you you're being bad and how wrong it is. Basically you would be living in the 1800's.
I live in Ohio, and we have many of the Amish living here in our state. I truly admire the Amish people for many reasons. They have such a strong work ethic, are very loving and helpful people from what I have seen. They are good people. I have enjoyed very much my visits to the Amish communities.
I would love to see a follow up on this show, in which they go back to these people and see how they're doing right now and if they chose to leave or stay. I'm especially interested in Becky, because of that last segment.
@@amredfern ; I Find it interesting that she is on Facebook! That’s a very un Amish! Is Facebook excepted by the Amish community at large I would think not
I have been watching this Amish series and as a man of 65 years, it heart breaking to live in such an unloving, immoral and brutal society of today. I have admired the Amish for 40 years. The longer l live, the more l see that the Amish got it right.
Wow I loved this series. It shows how people if different cultures can always learn new things... These Amish young folks definitely learned alot about life. I'd love to c what happened to them 13 yrs later with their families an how they're now today
I love the girls innocence its rather refreshing, i like to party etc, but would also feel uncomfortable being in a club like that, way too over whelming, way too much drunken strangers.. i commend Leah and Becky for their efforts in going out and dressing like their peers... i like those two very beautiful souls
I found these four clips both enlightening and enjoyable. I feel deep respect for the featured Amish young adults for their open yet thoughtful minds. I also commend those who created this series of videos. Both the Amish and the people they met were easy targets for mockery, but no one chose such a cheap and easy path. I saw consistent respect for all points of view expressed in these videos. To all involved I say "Well done! " And thank you
Leah is a very good young lady, who loves her Maker and wants to please her Maker. I wish her and her family all the best in this life, and a good place in the world to come.
A magnificent and inspired documentary. This is film making at its finest, using the full potentials of the mixed medium. Wherever you live in the world, this will open your perceptions to worlds you hadn't truly imagined.
Lmao on the other vids urban girls said they look bad lmao they are trashy as can be. Making fun of natural beauty makes you look way less better in my eyes.
@Clorox Bleach once you lose the internet, the right to let your wife work and almost all the other benefits and rights to the modern world to have their lifestyle, you wont be saying the same thing
All that matters is that you're a good person at heart. These people seem so humble and sensible but they have their way of life and principles they live by. As long as we don't hurt anyone or have bad intent, it will be BEAUTIFUL to live among different cultures and experience them. Love and Kindness to all.
+bruce wayne I found they had a good sense of themselves lost in most youngsters, and adults alike these days! One may not agree with everything of their doctrine, but it is a fact a simpler life leads to way less to no anxieties in life!
I live in America and looking at the degenerate media, corrupt economic and political system and the range of issues that are mounting with regards to domestic terrorism and cultural deterioration the simple life of these people doesn't seem so crazy.
They are not pure and innocent, it would be goo for you to get some education about what goes on in the Amish life and their ways. This documentary was only a small part. Understand that they have their problems too. For one, they are splitting constantly, which was revealed in this film. And that is one example of how impure they really are. Only God is pure and good, not any man.
Sorry to say the Amish are not so pure and innocence, they are sinner also, they are gentiles and are not Israelite's nor are they the covenant people of the Lord Jesus Christ, though they do have sound morals and values and that many Christians also share, though the Amish set themselves apart from the outside world not realizing they are in the world and part of the world and they are not the members of Jesus Christ Church nor do they fully have the fullness of gospel that Jesus Christ setup , and many of the things they are doing is abomination and the same goes for main stream Christianity and Islamism and like so many other religions that worships false God's. Amish teach if a member leave their haven they will go to hell this is nothing but a lie and untrue, The Amish are doing nothing for the Lord in gathering the lost seeds of Jacob ( Israel ) and bringing them into the covenant of the Lord true Church which is THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS yes the Mormons which is a nick name of the Saints, the LDS Saints are the house of Israel and are the covenant people of the Lord God. There no sin using cars and trucks, airplanes power plants and all modern tech with have today though some of these thing are not healthy for our body, like cell phones do case cancer can damage the brain , this is the price we pay in using cell phone and it's been proofing.
I feel like there's so many other places , things and experiences that the Amish kids could have done not just night clubs and drinking I feel bad for them like they set it up for them thinking the world is a crazy crazy. I would love to host some Amish during Rumspringa . I would love to talk with them, not change them or judge them but give them my angel for sure.
The world is crazy. Open your eyes. World wide you see the same thing. What do people do on Friday nights? Get drunk, go to clubs, strip clubs, etc. this is the world we live in. Yes they should’ve taken them to more wholesome places but the bad stuff is everywhere.
Much respect for the Amish lifestyle. Actually I trust people who have a certain set of values and stick to their core beliefs no matter what outside circumstances are.... Bravo Amish people... Stay strong. '.
Much better potrayel of the Ammish... nearly brings tears to my eyes, tears of overwhelming joy in a fallen world of wickedness, and sadness at a iniquitous world whom think they are normal and the Amish backwards. Righteoussness is never outdated, Holy is Holy and Good is good and evil evil. Bless the Amish!
I don't believe what they believe, but I do admire that they have coexisted with 4 different families with radically different lifestyles from their comfort zones, and they used it as a time to learn rather than take offense. The Amish have some really crazy customs that have not been outlined in this show. However, if a person is happy in the life they've chosen then who am I to judge? And who are you? I'm a firm believer in everybody living their lives in a way that makes them happy without shame or fear of retribution, as long as nobody is getting hurt in the process.
"as long as nobody is getting hurt in the process." That's the kicker, we don't understand all the potential hurt which may arise by sinning against God.
Growing up in a rural, Christian community in South Africa in the 1980's , I remember what it feels like to have the innocence of those teenagers, and to have enjoyed a close knit, supportive community. While I may not agree with all of their interpretations of scripture, the lifestyle they have created is one of political independence, self sufficiency, peacefulness, co-operation and mutual support. The West may mock them, but wisdom is proven by her children.
I matriculated in 1980 in the Freestate and surrendered my life to the Lord in 1977! We climbed hills, swam a lot, rode on horseback, played tennis, camped etc. I think South African youth were about 20years behind concerning immorality (fornication, etc) than Europe and America (excluding the Bible belts). But today my heart is crying for our youth, they are so lost!!
@@ramtuff83 we were actually fighting against communist ANC, not black supremacy. The liberal media has demonized and sunk much more countries than South Africa. TheMissmist Modern programming I see is working well. Soon they will have accomplished all the programming and destroyed all of our society. Oh well, hopefully it will be quick and over with real fast, with little pain and suffering for the people.
I have so much respect for these people! I've been considering joining an Amish community. I believe that our purpose in life is to glorify God. The Amish definitely do that! God bless them!
The Amish came to America in the 1600s from Germany to live practice their way if life. Their religious way of living should be respected. My family lives near the Amish they are a hard working talented giving people and will help their neighbors in any way they can. The way the world is these last few years ...... it is challenging to live a wholesum life.
"Amish began migrating to Pennsylvania, then known for its religious toleration, in 1727" (though Jakob Ammann separated from the Swiss Anibaptists in the late 1600s, his followers were first called Amish in about 1710) - 6 takeaways from our conversation with Don Kraybill at lancasteronline.com, via Wikipedia There are many things to admire about the Amish. Most other faith traditions would avoid being so separate, but it has become virtually impossible to live among us "English" without actively collaborating in a massive extinction event and rampant international terrorism.
I used to live. Near Amish country in Southwestern New York. They had a store you could buy eggs, candles, jam. I used to love going there. The Amish people are such LOVELY, PEACEFUL PEOPLE with kind HEARTS.
The Amish are very nice people. And as for their conservative stance on sex.... I bet they do not have a 70% divorce rate like those of us that are so advanced in our thinking.
+brianminkc They dont believe in divorce. They'd rather live miserably and unhappy then divorce. Nowaday people divorce when the marriage is no longer working. Don't get me wrong, i don't believe in divorce, but i've seen some women beatten hard enough to change my mind.
Cubb373 Is this being said from personal experience or is this something that was heard/read somewhere and is now believed in without questioning? In other words, do you really know what a person looks like in "God's eye" as you say? Do you in all honesty know what God is? Or is this an idea, a concept, a belief handed down from authority figures (priests, parents, family, friends, a word in a book that is interpreted by these authorities figures), accepting the interpretation of the authority figures out of different psychological reasons (it's much more comfortable to believe than to doubt, doesn't rock the boat etc.) an idea that is now believed in to be the absolute truth without ever being examined and investigated?
Cubb373 I fully understand that this is what's written in the Bible, but what I am asking is, how do you KNOW (not believe, but know) that what is written in the bible is "God's instruction" as you say? Do you have first hand personal experience of this, or is it a belief handed down to you by authority figures? It is of course quite natural to believe what the authority figures say when you are a small child (your survival literally depends on not doubting or questioning what they present as the absolute truth), but the understandable need of a small child to believe in an idea out of fear for survival, doesn't necessarily make that idea true. And before even knowing that something written is "God's instruction", do you even know, in all honesty, know what God really is? Not as an idea or a concept, a belief handed down from authority figures (priests, parents, family, friends, media etc.) but actually know for yourself.. ? Have you ever questioned and inquired for yourself whether the ideas we have in our brain (ideas that are programmed into us from a very early age) hold any water... ?

It's really hard to say what's better. Our life or amish life. We are free to do things we want and life how we want. But amish people are all living together. No crimes, no starving or really fat people, no homeless, no bullying, no worries about money and bills. Everybody has work an the kids will have everytime both parents.
They have their problems too. They're human. Aside from different belief systems, people all live with the same human psychological dynamics with the same temptations and difficulties.
I think its kind of naive to think they don't have criminals, our that their life is simple. They have abuse too that get covered up, their woman are financially dependent on their husbands, their children don't have an education so they are forced to stay in their life, etc. Plenty of flaws, they are completely the same as everyone else. They say they live humble, and don't take pride, but they do, just in diffrent things. We humans are all the exact same.
Cordelia Enid H Didn't know that they hush it up. I don't know much about them. Yes I want to go to the normal hospital if I get sick. And I want to do what I want. But I don't want to get shot by some idiots or get robbed. You know, problems you have in bigger cities. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
I am living my whole life in a city with more than 200,000 people. Everything is here. I can get everything or get everywhere in less than 15 minutes on foot or with trams. My parents grew up in very small villages. They had no TV and no cars. My mom didn't knew thinks like that exist. There were only horses and things like that. They worked on the farm, walked to school barefoot. I am sure they had a similar life like amish kids. I like it when they tell about their childhood. A lot of things are nice, but some things are really horrible. For example the dentist. They had just pulled out the tooth. Sometimes it was the wrong one.
afe31 Not only is there absense of bad things, but what matters is in their live: God, people, family, friends. But I do ask, they live in big houses, and though they help others in the community fiscally (which may count) and work in the modern world, how do they ingage others with the faith, and possibly help the most poor. How do they live in more communion with their fellow man (though its possible they already do that well)? They also have large homes.
In march 2000, i spent a week in Shipshewana, and noticed the sign that this these folks' town. It's a beautiful life. I bought a small handmade quilt and i cherish it. My first saddle came from there too. I went for the semi annual horse auction. The Amish live soooo clean!!! They kept young girls in the ladies room to clean the stall after every person uses the toilet. And the food is the best I've had anywhere. I would go back and stay extensively
It's great until you have to live like that your whole life. Sorry, but I'd rather have my smartphone, have sex with who I want without having to inbreed and listen to my ipod and wear pants and go for a run wearing my Nike sneakers out in the city. You're an idiot if you think these people have it good. Want to go to concert.. nope sorry can't. Want to marry that cute guy/girl that was eyeing you and asked you out? Nope, can't.. unless you want to leave the cult and never return due to shame. Want to get piercings and a tat with your great grandma's name on your arm.. nope can't do that. Want to dye your hair a cool color for the fuck of it. Nope not allowed to. Want to drive an awesome sports car? Nope can't. Want to go to college, play beer pong, go to football games and wear big sweatshirts while taking pictures of you and your friends? Nope. Can't do that. Want to go to the ocean and wear anything you want? Nope can't do that. Don't want to make dinner and would rather call a pizza place? Nope can't do that. Want to be a lawyer, an actor, a singer, a ceo of a company, a cop, a professor, a scientist, a fashion designer, a sports player, a world traveler, the president????? Nope, sorry not allowed in your community. Yeah... great life

Their sense of community is amazing. I do wish our society was like this instead of “everyone on their own”.
But also that made them excited cuz thats what they do in their lives, handwork and farmwork so they were eager to finally do what they are accustomed to

I was really surprised at the end when Leah Miller said that the experience has made her think that she might like to live in another country and accept some changes. I'm glad that they all realized that you don't have to change your morals and fundamental beliefs to embrace something new.
I agree it's true. But when young children grow up in a modern environment the morals will suffer.
I thoroughly enjoyed these four videos. Their lifestyle is wholesome and fascinating. They are not missing anything.

The maturity level of these kids is amazing. They are confident in themselves and their belief system. Our lives are so fast and complicated.
LoL
"Being around people that think very differently and trying to be yourself creates tension and clashes." Is all tension bad?
Goodbye! 😄👋🏼
2 Corinthians 6:14 - Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
See: www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/justin-taylor/what-if-iron-sharpening-iron-in-the-book-of-proverbs-is-actually-something-to-avoid/ ]
You continue to bring up 2 Corinthians and not being "unequally yoked". ]
God already "told you" to visit prisoners, help orphans, and Jesus hung out with drunkards and prostitutes.

I fear that's a particularly male trait these days. I feel bad for your generation. You live in a gynocracy. By 19 I had a harem of women to choose from. 1/10th of all men will never even have kissed a girl (mostly due to the demographic skew of China, but regardless that's a tragic number). The gynocracy must fall. But first postmodernism (or 'cultural Marxism' as some term it) has to be dealt with, which has permeated your schools, entertainment, media, et cetera.
I can honestly say, I wish I had a fraction of these teenagers devotion. Being firm in their believes it’s admirable. Our society is very self-centered and we are constantly losing the interest to help one another. 😔

I was raised practically Amish, and when I left the church at 24 I never looked back. As wholesome as a life may seem, it does NOT compare to having the freedom to make ones own choices.
I think maybe certain kinds of people find comfort in not having to make choices. Very few unknowns. At least we live somewhere where we all CAN make that choice, lol. I certainly wouldn't of lasted in their community, but to each their own!

“There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.”
Having a belief women are “less” than men distorts the Gospel message completely and opens the door for all sorts of horrific spiritual abuse. Mutuality is the key of the Gospel message, just as it was in the Garden prior to the Fall. “Helper” doesn’t mean “servant”. In John Walton’s commentary, he writes:
“The word “helper” is common enough as a description of someone who comes to the aid of or provides a service for someone.
Exactly
Exactly!!!!!!!!!
@ent|ty Only one sentence, then I went on to expand other possibilities. Read my comments again unless you have nothing else to say.

Yeah, but if you don't submit then you are a hipocrit. Bible also says let no woman teach a man. You should look it up

I watched this show 6 or 7 years ago cos I had to research the Amish for a school project, somehow it ended up in my feed today ... what a throwback
I’m not gonna lie... I’m envious of their life. They just seem so happy and at peace. Must be a wonderful feeling to live life like that. Leah is absolutely gorgeous. Who doesn’t dream of a wife like her one day. Beautiful and so respectful of her own beliefs and body. She’s amazing!
Christopher Cabral . Became a Jehovahs Witness 5 years ago. These Bible principals are the basis for how we approach the world around us. Modesty...dedication to our marriage mate...living a simple life that is not consumed by money or things. I was not raised a witness, nor had ever been to a kingdom hall. Once I began to study the bible I saw for myself, for the first time, that there is a better way to live. God knows what is best for us, and what truly brings happiness. Only heartache exists otherwise

@Motivation Archives, as an adult or a young person, you can always make a spiritual journey on your own, pick up a Bible and start reading or even find a church close to your home, when I was in high school before I was old enough to drive, I made a decision to start going to church, my parents had no interest in going with me so I walked to church on Sunday, and home I’m guessing it was roughly a mile from my home I didn’t mind the walk I actually enjoyed it, I had some time to reflect on my life and what I wanted out of my life someday ❤❤
Unfortunately I had a massive stroke in 2015 and I can’t walk that far anymore and my husband won’t drive me so I have looked into online services in my town and I have only been able to find 1 church with online services and I don’t care for that pastor, so I will continue to look by towns surrounding mine.

@@teamcougarssorry you’re dealing with these physical limitations. I agree with your points. Further, some communities of Amish do not permit vernacular Bibles. I admit I find this romanticization troubling. (Even some of the religious points made are based on mistranslation of the Hebrew.)

Amish women are so pure and sincere, they are uncommonly beautiful and unique.
Yeah until you marry one and turn into Josh Duggar and cheat on her with a porn star.

As a 27 year old man, it seems there is more to be learned about life from Amish boys on Rumspringa than many of our elders in the modern world today.
A magnificent and inspired documentary. This is film making at its finest, using the full potentials of the mixed medium. Wherever you live in the world, this will open your perceptions to worlds you hadn't truly imagined.
they are so gorgeous, the amish girls. absolutely beautifuL!
I agree
Lmao on the other vids urban girls said they look bad lmao they are trashy as can be. Making fun of natural beauty makes you look way less better in my eyes.
+Theglassofmilk
I agree with you. Their not just beauty in the outside but as well as in the inside.
Don't get tempted!
Theyre so ugly LMAOO
I’m so jealous of their purity.
Innocence, maybe. Purity? "Don't judge a book by its cover."
@Clorox Bleach
once you lose the internet, the right to let your wife work and almost all the other benefits and rights to the modern world to have their lifestyle, you wont be saying the same thing
YES ...
You can have the same innocents back when you come to Jesus and be born again.
All that matters is that you're a good person at heart. These people seem so humble and sensible but they have their way of life and principles they live by. As long as we don't hurt anyone or have bad intent, it will be BEAUTIFUL to live among different cultures and experience them.
Love and Kindness to all.
these people are so pure and innocent, a virtue that is lost to the wider world.
+bruce wayne I found they had a good sense of themselves lost in most youngsters, and adults alike these days! One may not agree with everything of their doctrine, but it is a fact a simpler life leads to way less to no anxieties in life!
+bruce wayne Brainswashing since young age.
@@jazzyb819 not everybody lives the same way, you open your eyes
@Steve angel not angle
@Steve that comment u just deleted, it was a grammar correction.
Ugh..you mean angle.....
Much respect for the Amish lifestyle. Actually I trust people who have a certain set of values and stick to their core beliefs no matter what outside circumstances are.... Bravo Amish people... Stay strong. '.
Don't ever lose you principal and values. The outside world have no hope whatsoever
I like how the kid is busting the only move hes got that he learnt from hip hop kids in episode 1. lmao
MJB lol I noticed the same thing!
MJB what a champ
LOL So You watched it too. Funny!😎😁🥁🎸🎹🎵🎶🎼Did you learn how to do it as well?
What a great documentary and such a beautiful group of people. I enjoyed watching this.
what sweet teenagers, so sanctified and beautiful.
ive fallen in love with these people
Will you live on commune with me ..off the grid..rescue me please
Much better potrayel of the Ammish... nearly brings tears to my eyes, tears of overwhelming joy in a fallen world of wickedness, and sadness at a iniquitous world whom think they are normal and the Amish backwards. Righteoussness is never outdated, Holy is Holy and Good is good and evil evil. Bless the Amish!
I feel so sorry for that poor girl who let her hair down for the night club, personally I cant stand night clubs myself, they horrid noisy cesspools.
I wouldn't had took her their she wasn't missing nothing....
Misty Uren wtf?
It's okay not to like clubs. You're fine don't listen to any comments
I like strip clubs😌
@Norm Macdonald Show Ahh, yes... sometimes I can taste the sweetness of methamphetamine radiating from underneath that cheap perfume, I love it!
Facing so loud music in a night club I feel exactly the same than amish people, and I am not amish.
It's okay not to like clubs. Even i don't like clubs
It's 2023 and how I wish I could know how they are doing now.
"as long as nobody is getting hurt in the process." That's the kicker, we don't understand all the potential hurt which may arise by sinning against God.
out of the mouths of babes . in both senses anatomically and lookin' .
I have deep respect for the Amish people. They seem so simple and humble.
This is whats missing in the world today! Refreshing video. 💗
Wow where is this? I'm from South Africa
Beautifully said. Wisdom is indeed, proven by her children.
Apartheid was is wicked so you can’t be serious about your innocence
I matriculated in 1980 in the Freestate and surrendered my life to the Lord in 1977! We climbed hills, swam a lot, rode on horseback, played tennis, camped etc. I think South African youth were about 20years behind concerning immorality (fornication, etc) than Europe and America (excluding the Bible belts). But today my heart is crying for our youth, they are so lost!!
@@ramtuff83 we were actually fighting against communist ANC, not black supremacy. The liberal media has demonized and sunk much more countries than South Africa. Try and listen to dr Peter Hammond, Willem Petzer, Erents Roets, etc on South African history. Since ANC took over we went from 30murders in SA per year to 22 000 and became the rape capital of the world and our economy got trashed. Corruption is the order of the day
when she called her mom about the wetsuits i was like NO STOP SHE GONNA TALK YOU OUT OF IT
Staying pure protects you from the emotional baggage that comes with having many sexual relationships
The Amish have something that much of society lost along the way.
You're right, and I still can't put my finger on it though yet it's right in my face.
Tarri Boyd Healthy social relationships and stronger moral convictions.
sadly your right
Like hardcord misogyny and hardcore intolerance ?
"Amish began migrating to Pennsylvania, then known for its religious toleration, in 1727" (though Jakob Ammann separated from the Swiss Anibaptists in the late 1600s, his followers were first called Amish in about 1710)
- 6 takeaways from our conversation with Don Kraybill at lancasteronline.com, via Wikipedia
There are many things to admire about the Amish.
Most other faith traditions would avoid being so separate, but it has become virtually impossible to live among us "English" without actively collaborating in a massive extinction event and rampant international terrorism.
They won't let you
You can not not join the amish. It's imppssible.unless your born into it thata the o ly way you will ever be Amish.
Some leave Amish to become Mennonites. They are just modern Amish with a few tiny differences.
I used to live. Near Amish country in Southwestern New York. They had a store you could buy eggs, candles, jam. I used to love going there. The Amish people are such LOVELY, PEACEFUL PEOPLE with kind HEARTS.
Here is a documentary about really strict mennonites, i think it was interesting.
ua-cam.com/video/Pt_XU4W4DBA/v-deo.html
The Amish are very nice people. And as for their conservative stance on sex.... I bet they do not have a 70% divorce rate like those of us that are so advanced in our thinking.
+brianminkc Exactly right. Their family unit is much more stable than any in the Western world.
nur mehmet papadopol alcholic rapers arent the only one who beats their wifes, also being alcholic or raping doesnt mean you beat your wife/husband, there a lot of alcholic ppl that doesnt do it and alot of "normal" ppl who do it thats all, lets not label people just their actions :)
Cordelia Enid H
Didn't know that they hush it up.
Im a Pacific islander & we live our lives the same exact way only we dont have horses or carriages & we also live on islands.
Yeah... great life
+Cat Prowess and yet, they're healthier, happier, and live productive lives. In any population as large as (put whatever you want here) there's gonna be a few stinkers.
+Cat Prowess yes, it's perfect
