It's rather uncanny how he sounds much more like his 80s self singing with Halford, His voice suddenly regain a lot of the middle, sound less bottom heavy AND regain a lot of dexterity. All the while incorporating his more black sounding highs :)
To 1991 painkiller tour , to Fight 1993, 1995 fight , then when He did Halford , you see him quit his low tenor range and went baritone around 1999 . Halford material and even Fight are more gutty and more adapted to hid current range , more medium , with less architecture phrasing than Priest which had a lot of Highs and more complicated phrasing , less space breathing . So considering that , Its more balanced with His own band . With shorter sets so He hit the high stuff and Priest stuff better .
@@Nissardpertugiu Indeed, when I look at the setlists for the Painkiller Tour it just beggars the imagination as to how he even managed vocally. Bloody monstrous demands on his instrument, talented and unique as he is. Especially coming off the emotional torment of the suicide pact trial, and maybe jumping the shark after such a resplendent vocal renaissance in 1986. But indeed I do agree that his solo ventures tend to be much more in keeping and co-evolving with his vocal capabilities than Priest ever could be. I adore Priest, and I think when Rob is on form it's pure totemic glory that doesn't have to adhere tightly to the studio cuts, you can tell when his confidence just radiates and the band and the vocal delivery are in the same element. Diamonds and Rust in the Epitaph Tour springs to mind. He should never just 'cope'. Modifications along the way have kept things in pretty good balance and that's fantastic.
Life has been better because I've been lucky enough to listen to Rob Halford since the 1970's! Halford is one the BEST things this world has had to offer. I LOVE it! Amazing! I give THANKS there is a Rob Halford! The GOD of Heavy Metal!
Great, this song sounds like a bomb in this concert. Halford has better voice with 60 years than all the young singers of the new bands of our generations. Heil Halford, our Metal God.
I saw him 5 times in the 80's and, early 90's. He sounds as awesome now as he did than. He continues to show he is by far the greatest vocalist of all time in Heavy Metal!!!
ROB HALFORD THE METAL GOD, after 35 years or so , im still listening to the metal god rob halford. back in the late 1970 i was listening to him in judas priest and after 35 years he's still kicking out great heavy medal music. this is P13 yours truly a judas priest and halford fan forever and ever amen. HELL P13 THE SINNER 666 // TMD . SS .
It's so amazing how can still kick the songs out like this :) Allot of artists voices are fucked up long time along the way allready. With Rob halford there is no stopping :) Fucking love it !
HELL YEAH! My life has been enriched because I've been lucky enough to hear ROB HALFORD sing since the 70's! YEP! Damn great thing of beauty that is! Damn fine!!
WhenI heard this Album, It blew my mind…. I bought it, took it home, and played it over andover and over and over … I would buy this album over and over…. first I got it on two records, ( scratched one record at my cousin's house when we had an altercation about the speed at which it should be played so I HAD to buy a new one with out scratches ) - then a cassette tape, and finally a CD ( so far ) - Now THAT's a good Album!! - I heard this for the first time when I was in High School. It RAWKED my world. Changed me. May have altered the path of my life… little did I know this man Rob Halford would still be ROCKING HARD and I would still be listening to his music EVERY DAY when I turned 55 years old! Wow! I have been blessed to have had JP and especially ROB Halford in my life !!! Made it BETTER!!!!
When Halford first left Priest there was a rumor that he'd been kicked out because "he couldn't hit the high note at the beginning of Victim Of Changes anymore..." nice to see that disproved.
He had nodles on 1990 leg . And he reach 40's so naturally , this Is when your boxes are changing . Also to 1991 to 1993 , to 1995 then 1998 , 1999 -2000 when he did Halford band you see him progressivly quit his low tenor register he had in 70's and 80's . When he did Halford , he went Baritone .
HE IS DEFINITELY SINGS IN A DIFFERENT NON-PRIEST WAY....PROOF THAT HE STILL HAS A GREAT VOICE IS THE CLOSING ".........VICTIM OF CHANGESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...." YEAHHHH ROBBB
one of the top 5 ever heavy metal songs concerning songwriting. up there with other epics like hallowed be thy name, heaven and hell, suite sister mary, beyond the realms of death, etc. god help me, i fuckin love heavy metal.
Not KK or Tipton on the axe...but f%#k!...that is the heaviest i ever heard Victim of Changes....that guitar solo at the end was a brutal onslaught. 🤘😠🤘
well guys..... Halford is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! He got the VOICE!!! listen to Victim of changes perfumed during this EPITAPH tour and you will find the best performances ever done. thanks Rob!!!!!!!!! +++
I wish priest would retire and halford would go solo again, the music is way fucking heavier and It just rips the skin off your bones, this is hands down the best version of this song next Unleashed in the east
Compare this to the version from Rising in the East, the difference is remarkable considering they're only two years apart. Add to the fact that this version is in a higher key, and Halford STILL sings like a god!
I noticed that in this concert with his band...halford walks and dances like he did when he was young with judas priest....but whenever he plays this song with judas priest he seems more shy and less outgoing.....it also seems he has more fun playing with his band then priest...and he does more of those great screams,o well, hes still the metal god Forever !!!!!
Excellent version of a great song. I don't think there's a live Priest version (with the exception of Unleashed) that surpasses this one. Halford's band is very good, especially the rythym section.
@MrSk1111 nah bro this is live, theres no bullshit, i saw him on november 25th 2010 halford was touring with ozzy, he was flawless and i myself am a musician, it was a live performance no doubt about it, same with this one, the man is the best there is and he proves it daily. accept that.
It changed all though the 90's . And even here Halford is already a baritone not a low tenor anymore . Priest stuff is more challenging in phrasing about highs and stuff . When with his solo stuff , you can hear more confortable range alternated with Highs . Also he had serious back issues
@GTAfan421 Yes, it's really sad he that he has left, but I think it's good they still carry on. Yes,we'll see, I'm seeing them in Munich in about a month, I hope they will kick ass^^
@ManlySound I always thought live performance from unleashed in the east in 79 would never be equalled... I think this one is at least as good than the classic
Priest was awesome in the beginning ( yes im that old) but sometimes familiarity breeds contempt. Fight and Halford were much more inspired . Rob will always be 90% of whatever he's involved in....😂 .
@billywitchdocter Hmm, I don't know.I saw Judas Priest yesterday in Munich and I must say...they all seem to have more fun onstage since Downing is gone.K.K. Downing was a legendary guitarist and will never be forgotten, but it bled through in their performances that they weren't getting along as good as they used to.Richie Faulkner seems to be giving them new enthusiasm. That's just my observaton, it may not be true.I don't mean to offend anybody.
When was this recorded? Rob sounds so good here, and i think the guitarists play better IMO than the Priest guys. Don't get me wrong, KK and Glenn are good players, but they are growing old, and can't play like it's 1984 anymore.
I wonder if the other guys in Priest make Halford be stiffer or something, in his halford shows he always moves more or headbangs a bit, he just comes out of his shell more.
In many ways, I like Halford more than I ever really liked Priest.
He definitely sang with better technique with Halford, something he's been doing more in Priest since 2018
I can relate... He got more real and authentique with Fight and Halford; Priest had this "Kostüme and humour"-thing going in since SFV
Glad my friend is bassist for Halford and he once bragged to me that Halford is way better than Priest... hahaha
It's rather uncanny how he sounds much more like his 80s self singing with Halford, His voice suddenly regain a lot of the middle, sound less bottom heavy AND regain a lot of dexterity. All the while incorporating his more black sounding highs :)

These are the absolute best metal Songs in friken history.. the guitar work is amazing.. and Hanford is a legit legend
Great, this song sounds like a bomb in this concert. Halford has better voice with 60 years than all the young singers of the new bands of our generations. Heil Halford, our Metal God.
In a class all his own.
I saw him 5 times in the 80's and, early 90's. He sounds as awesome now as he did than. He continues to show he is by far the greatest vocalist of all time in Heavy Metal!!!

it is actually a sad fact that we only have one Rob Halford :'(
Great performance!!
The best version of Victim of Changes!!!! Rob Metal God
the greatest metal song ever written....the guitars are shreddin!!
I luv Rob, high notes, hard to reach, hes truly the God of Metal!
Thanks Rob
Halford always gives 100%!
WhenI heard this Album, It blew my mind…. Rob Rules!!!
My #1 Musical Hero, HAIL THE METAL GOD \m/
When Halford first left Priest there was a rumor that he'd been kicked out because "he couldn't hit the high note at the beginning of Victim Of Changes anymore..." nice to see that disproved.
He had nodles on 1990 leg .
And he reach 40's so naturally , this

Halford at his best in any range (sooo natural), the guys played fast with a lot of punch, what Priest guitarrists are missing last years.
WE LOVE ROBB. holy crap this man was about 58 in here and still rocks, sadly now he’s 69 oh man time goes fast
There's a reason why people call him the Metal God
Лучшая версия этой песни! The best version of this song👍🏻
insane he hits tho high notes. its almost unprecedented at 60. crazy good.
Was at this near the front, awesome show; it was pouring rain hard outside, big storm rolled in, perfect night
HE IS DEFINITELY SINGS IN A DIFFERENT NON-PRIEST WAY....PROOF THAT HE STILL HAS A GREAT VOICE IS THE CLOSING ".........VICTIM OF CHANGESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...."
YEAHHHH ROBBB
Definitely the best to ever do it the true metal god Robert halford
one of the top 5 ever heavy metal songs concerning songwriting. up there with other epics like hallowed be thy name, heaven and hell, suite sister mary, beyond the realms of death, etc. god help me, i fuckin love heavy metal.
don't forget Talk Dirty To Me (JK the shittiest 80s metal still blows 21st century music out of the water XD)
the build up towards the end is incredible.
HOW GOOD WAS ROB in his own band !! Wow !
This performance is as solid as 1982 Vengeance tour live version.
Halford in Sao Paulo - 24/10/2010!!! imperdivel!!! vida eterna ao MetalGod
Not KK or Tipton on the axe...but f%#k!...that is the heaviest i ever heard Victim of Changes....that guitar solo at the end was a brutal onslaught.
🤘😠🤘
Rob's got some serious pipes... His voice is SICK!
The vocals are unreal
The metal god..
well guys..... Halford is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! He got the VOICE!!! listen to Victim of changes perfumed during this EPITAPH tour and you will find the best performances ever done.
thanks Rob!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely stunning performance of one of my very first Priest favorites. Gotta buy the DVD now!
Should check him out 2to with Rob Halford it's the band he started b4 fight
Rob is a Metal God \m/
best guitar solo song ever!!!!
i wish he did those screams longer...i enjoyed hearing them...but this is still one of the best performances from the Metal God!
He's way too old for that my friend. His age must be 60 plus by now nearing the 70's.
I've really come to notice that Halford's voice has gotten better with age.
I wish priest would retire and halford would go solo again, the music is way fucking heavier and It just rips the skin off your bones, this is hands down the best version of this song next Unleashed in the east
BEST SONG OF ALL TIMES.SURE
HALFORD=THEMETALGOD
Long live halford!
Great performance.
Cannot wait for this DVD to come out!
Wonderful!!
AMEN
HALFORD yea metal gods you the best bocals
Compare this to the version from Rising in the East, the difference is remarkable considering they're only two years apart. Add to the fact that this version is in a higher key, and Halford STILL sings like a god!
God I hope they play this one when i see them next month!
Halford kicks so much Metal ass!
Awesomeness achieved!!!

The best fuckin' video ever made!!! Straight up!!!
i'm gonna go to this concert next week =)
The high notes might not quite be like they used to but man he is kicking as much ass on stage as ever!
Fucking Best heavy metal ever !!!!!
The Metal God
The fuss over the rear
Excellent version of a great song. I don't think there's a live Priest version (with the exception of Unleashed) that surpasses this one. Halford's band is very good, especially the rythym section.
now 2011 he can sing still like in 1982
oh yeah, this is just a hot video, danggg
!
@GTAfan421
Hey, man.I sae him yesterday in Munich and they were awesome.Richie fits and they seem to be more enthusiastic, a really great show!
Dio e Halford the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe that's the way to keep our metal heart from becoming a victim of time changes!
HOLY SHITTT!!!! OMFG!!!!! WHAT A GREAT FUKING SONG!!!! AND THATS HOW YOU MAKE SWEET SWEET LOVE TO A GUITAR 7:30
@LinkyHYC
actually it changed in 2002 .. , he developed a callus in his vocal chords when recording crucible
Finally a version without Tipton's annoying solo in the middle, not that I hate him, I just don't know why is he doing it every time.
@Wyndrax I could totally hear that too.
@MrSk1111 nah bro this is live, theres no bullshit, i saw him on november 25th 2010 halford was touring with ozzy, he was flawless and i myself am a musician, it was a live performance no doubt about it, same with this one, the man is the best there is and he proves it daily. accept that.
Chlaściak Jarzombek POLISH POPLE!!!!!
@AxeNoter Don't forget this was in 2003, his voice changed after 2004 ;)
It changed all though the 90's .
And even here Halford is already a baritone not a low tenor anymore .
Priest stuff is more challenging in phrasing about highs and stuff .
When with his solo stuff , you can hear more confortable range alternated with Highs .
Also he had serious back issues
He actually sounds better as as he’s aged...
@Tanja5317 yep, you're right! and he still sounds fucking great!
Essa banda ficou melhor que o Judas!!!
@GTAfan421
Yes, it's really sad he that he has left, but I think it's good they still carry on.
Yes,we'll see, I'm seeing them in Munich in about a month, I hope they will kick ass^^
If nowadays Wagner would enjoy Slayer, Mozart would definitely choose Rob as his main voice.
Does anyone know why one of those tho magicians haven't joined JP now that Glenn isn't touring? Especially Mike.
@MrThewicho HAHAHA I'm sure he just means he's going to see Halford live next week. If not, I want that time machine!!!
@ManlySound I always thought live performance from unleashed in the east in 79 would never be equalled... I think this one is at least as good than the classic
Grim, no glamour.
Priest was awesome in the beginning ( yes im that old) but sometimes familiarity breeds contempt. Fight and Halford were much more inspired . Rob will always be 90% of whatever he's involved in....😂 .
@Tompa83
Well, i think his voice nowadays is better than it was in 2005 or 3 years ago...I guess, it helped to quit smoking:)
6:10 to 6:15 - shades of 1982 :)
Yeah. They did in Painkiller as well. I don't know if they were trying to make it their own or what..... but I would rather have the original.
@billywitchdocter
Hmm, I don't know.I saw Judas Priest yesterday in Munich and I must say...they all seem to have more fun onstage since Downing is gone.K.K. Downing was a legendary guitarist and will never be forgotten, but it bled through in their performances that they weren't getting along as good as they used to.Richie Faulkner seems to be giving them new enthusiasm.
That's just my observaton, it may not be true.I don't mean to offend anybody.
I think it's "No, no, that ain't fair" or "Oh no, that ain't fair". Something like that.
BRASIL POR AQUI?
When was this recorded? Rob sounds so good here, and i think the guitarists play better IMO than the Priest guys. Don't get me wrong, KK and Glenn are good players, but they are growing old, and can't play like it's 1984 anymore.
KK is better in 90's and Jug stuff till nostradamus till now than 1984 ..
I mean all the stuff of Ram it down til' nostradamus is more advanced than Defenders
Like these guys, but theres no substitute for Tipton and Downing in this song.
@BUFFW, i´m gonna go to this concert next week, REALLY? do you have a time machine? because this show is from 2003
The longsleeve hes wearing... they for sale anywhere?
I wonder if the other guys in Priest make Halford be stiffer or something, in his halford shows he always moves more or headbangs a bit, he just comes out of his shell more.
So very nicely done but what's with the snare drum cutting through?did anyone notice? its like a blow to the head.
thats what makes it awesome
