      The only difference is that now I have a memory and an emotional attachment to watermelon. But that supermarket melon hits the same.

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  2 роки тому

      You need to do self analysis....depend of which cultivar.. normally I only kept one melon per plant to focus all the energy to single fruit. Also the mosaics virus carry by Whitefly also can cause stunted growth....the last is check the pH..sometimes yr soil can provide all nutrient...but the wrong pH prevent the nutrient uptake. gardening is always about....soil pH and pest management. You get these two right, you almost win the battle

    Hi. My watermelon was successfully pollinate 3 days ago. What fertilizer did you use to make the melon grow? Did you water them normally?

      After fruit setting , you can switch to lower N , higher P n K. Just water as usual.

      just normal gardening soil with compost. As long as the soil pH is correct, then it works fine!

    Would sand on top of the soil somehow help keep things dry for the fungus issue? Beginner sorry 😅

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  Рік тому

      that does not help. and once the watermelon plant reach maturity, the plant will eventually die off due to fungus

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  Рік тому

      The reason i pinch off the side shoots and trim back the tips of the main stem( after fruit setting) is to focus all the energy to the fruit
