I've got two in my garage. One for me, one for the wife. Both have a pipe and a tune which is absolutely perfect for the bike. The sound and smoothness are how the bike should have come from the factory. I've put over 15k miles in 2 years. I love the bike!
I love my MT07 more and more after every ride. Nice and nimble, love the acceleration even though its restricted and it's alright on fuel. My bum ends up numb every now and then and the suspension problem doesn't bother me. Slap on an akrapovic and you'll love the sound of it, the neighbours might not tho haha.
Thats precisely what I say to people - the engine is the most important component of a bike. If the manufacturer gets it right - the rest I can excuse. You can change bad suspenders. You can tweak a horrid tail end. But you can't make up for a shit engine. Glad you like your 7 bud
Same. I have a 2014 mt07 matte silver with satin black and a akrapovic euro 4. This is the best bike of the decade without a doubt and the numbers speak for themselves
I had the MT-07 the year it came out. It was great, and even better after upgrading the suspension. But I sold it. Waiting for the next gen or for Yamaha to finally sell the Tracer 700 in North America. I now have the current SV650 and it’s shown me how criminally underrated this bike is. The MT-07 has a great engine and it’s a fun bike, but the SV shows that it’s been honed and refined over two decades. The engine is a gem, the chassis and brakes are better, and so is the build quality.
The post Gladius SV650s are gems, you're right. Never really gelled with the pre ones. Thats not to say they're bad though, they're a fantastic segway into proper fast bikes.
A friend/neighbor bought it just a week ago and gotta admit, it's very playful, light, sounds like a beast and doesn't cost u a liver, so no wonder it sells so good
Great vid, I don’t watch many all the way through but did this one. Might be because I had an MT07 2016 model for 2 years and put 25,000 klm on her, not a single commuting K on it. All just fun rides and loved it to bits. As for a bike I would like to see your take on, my current love, I sold the MT for a 2020 Kawasaki z900. Holy cow!!! I have a new love and it has seemed like a natural progression. With the 2020 upgrades it has made what has always been a great bike greater, would love to see your take on it. All the best!!
Totaled my FZ at Cheroholla trying to be a R6. The FZ had limitations and I went over board. Thinking my next bike would be the z900 or z900rs myself. Needed to get better suspension on the FZ and better ergos.
My 1st bike was a 2018 MT07. Kept it for a year, rode 15.000km and that thing would put a smile on my face every single time I was on it! Spot on video and great storytelling. I'm definitely subscribing!
Nice to hear I've got the only proper crossplane engine👍 I've yet to try an MT07 but it looks like Yamaha have done a great job fitting that engine in the Tenere 700. Made me laugh when you talked about the Gladius, couldn't believe they did that to the SV!
Oh yeah for sure, I was following the T7 concept from the moment they announced it - and I'm not even THAT into adv bikes. Glad to see its doing well although its not perfect either ! Hahaha felt bad 'shooting the ambulance' talking about the Gladius but they asked for it with that restyle 😂 Thanks for popping by Banditman !
@@ct9683 Whats your point ? It's nomenclature made to sell - Yamaha themselves in their spiel make sure they say it's 'crossplane inspired'. A true crossplane is 90deg between all crank throws. Simple as
@@UrgetoRide im completely aware of that which is why the r1 and mt10 isn't the only crossplane crank, also determine a true crossplane crank ? Because the 07/09 is a true crossplane, triumph Street triple is technically crossplane.
I like your videos. I will probably never own an MT07 but will forever be thankful for the heart it donated to the T7. Being a rider for around 35 years, the T7 was the bike I dreamed of long ago, a dream started by the original R80 G/S which I once owned, but something BMW have never been capable of fulfilling. Now I have a T7, my first ever new bike, and down under we have the country where such a bike makes sense. I think you should do a T7 video. Just kidding, I watched that before watching this, then I subscribed. Thanks!
I have a vfr800, Buell Cyclone, MT09, ktm 300exc, szr660, a 98 r1 and a BMW xcountry... Bought the wife an MT07... and now that's probably my favourite go to ride 99% of the time (when allowed ;)) . Nice flexible power band, great handling / brakes in spite of the cheap suspension (the MT09 is much worse) and great fuel economy the seat is more comfortable than the MT09 seat, certainly good enough for 100 mile + ride outs... and it looks great.
You've got the garage of dreams John. On the MT09 suspenders, it depends what year. I've got the 16 XSR900 the suspenders of which aren't bad at all really, just wish they were more tuneable. But then at 70 kilos (72-3 I guess fully kitted?), any suspension will have an easier time with me.
I’m riding bike more than 20 years. never ever enjoyed any bike more than mt07. wider rear tyre,sc project exhaust…tons of fun. Own a MT01 atm but sometimes i miss this bastard 😂
I learned to ride on an MT-07. I then tried an MT-09 and decided that it would be my certain death so I got a CB 650R instead. Also insurance was "only" €650 a year, literally below half of that for an MT-09. I do miss the chugging of the MT-07 a little bit, though. Every other aspect of the Honda is superior to the MT, aside from weight and the higher price.
Nicely done sir!!! I just got an R3 after being out of riding for 20 yrs (family, career, etc.); and when I get the rust off with my super cool little R3 I may jump to an MT-09 but this video was very helpful...appreciate it!
I've got a MT07 2018, coming from an R1 2005 ( Back in the days ) It did take me some time to adjust to a CP2 in line 2 super torquey cylinders. The R1 was much smoother on acceleration being an in line 4 cylinders. Present day, whilst on a recent 12 hours trip on it I've encountered all sorts of bikes on the way ( Which I left behind ) Until a couple of new Africa Twins decided to have a go at me, next thing I know I was racing with these Africa Twins guys ( I hardly ever decline a race shoot out ) They really tried their best to show off their skills but they simply couldn't keep up with my MT 07 acceleration, they were impressed by how fast I was leaving them behind, it was fun, I'm still giggling when I think about it. I love my MT 2018 which is still in standard conditions with it's own original pipe on it. I just Luv it 💘
I went for a test drive, and I was instantly in love with this bike, one day I went on a bike meet up with my enduro bike and I saw a guy with a Shiver 750, I asked him if I could take it for a spin and my love for the MT-07 faded away, the overall power of the bike was about the same, but the driving feeling of the Shiver was excellent. In the end I went and bought one used with no rust issues at all, for an Italian bike I have never faced any issues, next stop the Tuono 660 ;)
Very well done! A promising channel - never ever subbed after watching just one vid, but here we go :) 2017 MT07 owner here, eager to get a supersport next and do some track days, BUT I convinced my fiance to get a bike license so that she can "inherit" my MT eventually and it stays in the family :D it's too good of a bike to let it go..
Welcome in the gang ! Thank you for the kind words ! I know exactly how you feel - I'm finding all sorts of excuses to keep my first ever bike ! I'm blessed to have the garage space otherwise justifying it to myself and the mrs might get hard...
I've not yet washed my 2017 FZ-07 and with that rust advisory, I may never consider it in the future! You're right though. The engine is a gem. Transmission is a bit rough on downshifting in the lower gears, but like you say it was built to a price point. I can forgive them for not putting spool points on the swing arm, but I will never forgive Yamaha for failing to put drain plugs on the forks.
Dunno, but all the rust pics are from riders located in the UK. And everybody knows that the UK is surrounded by salty sea air and the weather there isn't great either. So yeah, things tend to rust their pretty quickly. But I have to agree that they rust relatively fast. Not the frame in my case, but the sheet metal holder for the ECU rusted where the ECU had contact to it. I can't compare it to other makes, but rust on a two year old well maintained bike that spends its off time in a dry garage is pretty bad.
Means a lot to me Steve, appreciate it. You see with TV you would never get such direct feedback from the community. You lose a lot of personal touch - I would never want to give that away.
I have a 2014 model with 45000 km and the frame has no signs of rust anywhere! I’ve upgraded the suspension, tune and a pipe, sintered brake pads and sport tires and it rips! The only thing that has aesthetically degraded over time is the color faded external plastic water pipes that go to the engine. Other than that the gear indicator sometimes fail. Amazing bike I love it!
The more of your videos i watch, the more convinced that you are just one Aneesh away from Fortnine quality i am. The script, the humour, the storytelling... and i'll say it... the charisma as well! I'm glad i found this channel. By the way, your videos on warming up and the triple's whistle were excellent! Can you do more technical stuff like that?
More technical stuff is definitely coming I really enjoy them but UA-cam has a habit of recommending them a lot less annoyingly, so you can understand I'm less motivated... I have a whole list in the back burner, why first gear clunks, why the back wheel rotates even in neutral on a wheel stand, suspension myths, silly things or just plain interesting things like that :) Stick around if that stuff interests you, the more there is of us, the less reliant I am on the almighty algorithm and I can do different things 🤜🤛
With such awesome feedback like yours I'd have to be an idiot not to. Its a lot of work getting everything together but it's clearly worth it if you guys are enjoying it. Stay tuned Damir there are a *uck ton more to come 🤜🤛
I’ve been riding for twenty years now (I’m almost 35) and never had the chance to ride an mt07, and I think I own your dog now, but except for that, I appreciated the video! Nice job! I’d like to ride one sooner or later anyway.
Great video! Subscribed for more. Please do the mt09! I owned an mt07 for a season and it was my gateway drug to a street 765. I do miss the exhaust note and that low end torque but I don't miss the build quality or anemic top end. Still great bike for the price and a good introduction to the segment.
Thank you Pax ! Welcome to the club woohoo! There will most definitely be an episode on the MT09, it would be a sin not to. Then your MT did its job perfectly ! It was never supposed to be the perfect forever bike, but a bike to make you fall in love in biking, and give you the skills needed for bigger better bikes, relatively cheaply and forgivingly. Congrats on the 765, you're a lucky dude !
Video is spot on and so well presented. Just had the first 3 days of riding this year and two tanks of petrol later and a very sore backside I still love this bike after 5 years of riding it. Yeah it has serious handling issues but decide that’s it’s character and just ride and enjoy. I’ve had over 30 different bikes and this hooligan brought back my love of riding.
I'm sure it is, its like a good best friend, who won't prioritize his girlfriend or **hurl**, his child.. over going out with you. It'll always be waiting for you, ready to ride.
This bike and this engine was so monumental that Honda is planning to pull off their own with the new Hornet. But since they're doing it almost 10 years later they're making it cheaper and more powerful.
I’ve been riding an MT-07 for a year or so, but just bought a 2015 Daytona 675 for track use, and will keep the MT-07 for street use. Now I have the best of both worlds. I might upgrade to the MT-09SP next year when the refresh model comes out.
I've been aching for a Daytona 675 for a while now. As soon as finances allow I'm going for it. Don't tell anyone, but its a GUARANTEED classic and will only go north - you're a lucky man
I can speak to the awesomeness of the MT07 because I own a 2020 Team Blue. The CP2 is definitely up to the task of being abused like a girl in a session of BDSM. This bike is surprisingly capable of doing all the things a super sport could do on the street... and more. I've done many naughty things to it whilst blasting around town. It is truly the best balls to the wall, wheelie off the line, grab assy machine I've ridden to this day. The most fun gets unleashed when a high flow filter, exhaust, tune, and quickshifter get installed. Then it really screams "I don't give a shit".
My only complaint is that they're too expensive in the used market. I wanted one but I opted for a Shiver 750 that I could get for almost half the price of the used MT07s. Still a fan but the shiver is a great alternative, it's heavier but with a bit more power, great set-up, suspension (non adjustable but they're truly fantastic), crazy good brakes (twin 320mm rotors with radial 4-pot calipers), big fat 180 tire, V twin engine with a nice roar to it, hybrid aluminium and steel frame that doesn't rust (didn't know MT07s did) and still a wheelie machine though obviously not as good as the MT. Only downsides I've found on mine was quite rare and expensive in parts, but having paid about 2k less for one that needed nothing apart a full tank I found them to be truly a bargain! In the course of 2 years the MTs are still as expensive as they were then and the shiver apart from a hefty 500euro rotor change in the front never needed anything else but maintenance.
I do think that the Shiver is a great alternative. The issue is Aprilia network cover is sparse, especially in the US, and that really scares people off. Just look at RSV4 and Tuonos - crazy good bikes but rarely sell because people don't want to take the risk. I for one thing its a shame. Ape needs to increase its dealer network and parts availability to reassure people or things will stagnate for ever.
I bought a 2017 FZ-07 ABS and now have 14k miles on it. Every mile had a huge smile on my face. Love the bike! Soo much low end power and that engine with a baffle-less M4 exhaust sounds like a monster. Just went for a ride this morning then did a chain clean/lube and replaced the coolant. Still running strong.
add a 2022 MT07 to my stable, sitting alongside a 2003 HD lowrider and a 2014 HD street glide special. this little weight is just about the perfect machine for this 53 year old 5'5: 160 lb. American. My biggest issue is the seat. IT sucks. I've done 1124 miles in 22 hours on my street glide and 826 in 18 1/2 hours on my low rider.. 2 hours on the MT is a chore, Guess I'll be modifying it like I did the HD's. the factory suspension is tremendous compared the HD's even with them upgraded to progressives, as far as the switch size again I'm a small person so no problem The sound of the Dominator exhaust is amazing. vert happy purchase
I used to own a 1999 VFR800, bought new. The saying was "if you own one bike, this is the one" How true, great bike. For me, 5'5" 140 lbs, the MT07 is better, just needs a better seat and a decent windscreen for longer rides. Easily done. Mine is a 2016.
Absolutely right. The MT-07 is the bike that seems to hit the nail on the head, and would be the bike that I would buy if parting with my hard-earned money wasn't so difficult for me. The best part is that it wheelies!
Amazing editing for a decade that'd be best remembered by giving yourself a concussion to forget it. I'm glad I learned at least some of the highlights of the decade when it comes to two wheel fun. Now I really hope Maccies does a promo with the NM4 just for shits and giggles
My pleasure good sir ! And YES, I say McDonalds you're missing an opportunity here 😂 Fair to say I'm not getting a job in advertising anytime soon. Hire me and lose 50% of your client base !
Honestly I dont think the gladius is that ugly. I see one around town alot and well I think its quite handsome and I dont understand why everyone hates it that much ;D
Hugely appreciated Sleepwalker. I get my style isn't everyone's cup of tea so its super encouraging to see people like yourself enjoy it ! Share around should you wish and thank you for popping by again !
They're not out yet so obviously haven't tried - but if they've kept the playful character of the old one, then it's going to be fantastic. Looks wise I think its looks better than the previous model, its an overall better restyle than the botched MT09 restyle. Frame and swingarm look exactly the same as the previous model so who knows if they've tried to make the MT07 stand up better to heavy use - will have to wait and see on that one ! Thanks Rob welcome aboard matie 🤜🤛
I'm going for my full licence through the Honda training school, and have been looking for my next bike. The MT-07 was one I was looking at, plus the KTM 790 Duke, and the KTM 890 Duke, but for various reasons I think I'll be giving them a miss. I've been out on a Honda CB650R, and it's a peach of a bike. It also looks fantastic, I could look at it all day, and it's very refined. Those four swept exhaust pipes which pay homage to the Honda CB400F of 1975, just look great, along with the rest of the bike. Plus, you know the CB650R is going to be reliable; it's a Honda. You won't be going back and forth to the dealer (KTM), it's going to start in the morning, and it definitely won't rust after a few 1000 miles on the clock. I also found the CB650R easier to ride than my Honda CB125R! If you complete the Honda training course, Honda will also give you £500 off a new bike, so the CB650R looks very tempting. An MT-07 might beat it off the line, but it will run out of puff, and the CB650R will leave it in its wake! Then there is Triumph. A second-hand Triumph Street Triple is very high on my list, but, there's a fly in the ointment. Triumph are launching the Triumph Trident triple on 30th October! That looks like it will be more than a match for the MT-07, and it's bang up-to-date. It's an entry level middle-weight, so it will be a lot cheaper than the Street Triple, and with less power the bets are it will have a 675cc unit. From the teaser photos, it looks fantastic. It'll probably be up to Triumph's usual standards as well, and therefore will be reliable. The reality is, for now, my decision will probably be dictated by the insurance costs. My aim eventually, is a brand new Triumph Street Triple RS in maybe two to three years time, fingers crossed.
Looks like you got your shit carefully planned :) Can't say I disagree with any of the statements. I too started out with a Honda and it thought me how to ride rather than how to fix/or learn the route to the dealer for repairs . And it was light on my wallet. Can't recommend the Japanese enough for first bikes honestly.
@@UrgetoRide I also fancy a BMW R 1250 GS! I'm doing the Direct Access Scheme with Honda, it's a bit more expensive, but all the CB650R's are new, my instructor is excellent, and the family who run the training school are really nice. My DAS lessons start next week, and I can't wait to get back on a CB650R. I did my CBT on a 16-year-old Suzuki RV125 VanVan, the rest of the kit was old and smelly. It was July, but it poured down all day, and it was freezing - never again!
As a former 2004 fz6 owner I find my self watching this video and feeling unimpressed. The Fz6 was a gem, 98hp, 63Nm, 187 kg dry (but including the fairing and huge headlights)plus an aluminum frame. It was a proper sports bike and as with the MT07 the suspension and brakes needed an upgrade but after completing the upgrade you had weapon of a bike. I know emissions killed performance but I never understood the hype about Yamaha's new middle weight sport bike line up.
Perhaps I was too harsh on the FZ, but inline 4's have always had a hard time being fun in an urban environment compared to VTwins and Parallel twins. Might make 98 up top but mid range, where most riding is, theres no kick in the butt..
You really do have a way with presentation that just makes much information most enjoyable - I'm a GSA Adventure rider but now am considering a T7... Well, at least adding to the harem in any case... Much thanks for all you do!
Really good video, to be honestes I restarted re-riding about 3 years ago, coming from the dirt bike world to me torque was everything so Yamaha mt07 was always the first option I got to ride it for a week and looove it.
My mate has parked his MT07 outside for 5 yrs and has not had any rust issues. I retrofitted my Tracer 700 with progressive, adjustable suspension for 120 quid! What's not to love!!
I just got a used 2016 FZ07 and can compare it to two other bikes I've owned. A 2005 Buell XB9SX (City Cross) and a 2015 Ducati Scrambler. On paper the Yamaha compares pretty closely to the Ducati, but the ergonomics of the FZ07 make it easier to just get on and ride around like a moron or like a sane person. The wide seat on the Yamaha and different ergonomics make the bike much more comfortable for rides lasting longer than an hour. On paper they should be similar to ride with 75/50 hp/torque but the FZ07 is the accidental wheelie machine. The FZ07 is more flickable and the power come-on is more brutal and fun. Oddly, the FZ07 has a less twitchy throttle, even with the R6 throttle tube mod. The Yamaha did what I was hoping, which is make me not regret selling the Ducati. While owning the Ducati, I took a Buell XB9SX on trade for a Harley Sportster and my eyes were opened to the XB bikes, which I'd never considered. The Buell was the bike that made me sell the Ducati because they made power in similar ways, but the Buell was much more ergonomic for my body and the handling was amazing. With 90/70 hp/torque and the same weight as the Yamaha, you'd assume it would win out for speed and fun against the Yamaha, but it didn't. The Buell and the Yamaha are both very nimble and fun to bomb around the city on. I think even with the aluminum frame/gas tank and swingarm/oil tank the Buell carried its weight worse than the Yamaha because of the Sportster style engine. New, the Buell cost much more than the Yamaha, but used the Buell is a lot cheaper than the Yamaha. If you like the sound of the Yamaha exhaust you'll love the Buell exhaust note. That said, I sold the Buell to a friend and I don't miss it comparing it to the Yamaha. They're pretty comparable for fun and excitement. The Buell didn't feel any faster to me than the Yamaha does in a straight line. I loved the Buell and think I love the Yamaha more. To wrap up my pointless ramble: Dirt bike bars on sport bikes is a good idea. Almost never a bad idea.
I've always, always wanted to try an XB9SX. They look so funky and cool, but always thought them to be a step above the MT07 - so surprised you're saying they're comparable
@@UrgetoRide My friend still has the Buell so I need to ride them both on the same day to make a definitive statement. I loved the Buell and the ergonomics on it were better for me than any sport bike I've ridden. Age is the primary negative feature of the Buell against the FZ07, being 11 years newer. The Buell had 25k miles on it but it seemed to still run right. Unfortunately it's now winter here so it may have to wait a few months. Another bike I've ridden that would compare to all these is a Suzuki SV650. The SV650 had more in common with the Ducati Scrambler and the Buell and MT compare more closely. I'm about to mount Pirelli Angel GT tires on my FZ07 which are the same tires the Buell has on it. That'll tell me if both bikes fall over similarly when cornering. You can't go wrong with an MT07 though. I've ridden a lot of bikes and this is one of the most fun bikes I've ridden.
I love my 2016 MT-07, and realistically the rusting isn't too much of an issue if you keep on it in terms of cleaning. Honestly, I can't think of a bike I'd replace it with, it's that fun and inexpensive.
I learned on an kawa er6-n and my first bike is my current 2018 model, I am just as much in love with it as the first time I rode it. I'm quite short (168cm/70kg) so the suspension doesn't bother me as much although I can feel it sometimes.... but man..... that engine rumble with my carbon akra is the sound of bike gods ejaculating
Been seeing this over and over, started watching but kept turning off as I either ran out of time or feel asleep 🤣 Now I’ve finished it! It’s a cracking video, great production, presenting, research and execution! Well done mate! Just hit 13k on my 07 and still no rust 🤞🏼
I love my tracer 700 (kind of a daddy's mt07). A taller bike, longer wheelbase, comfortable for a pillion. A more well-behaved mt07 you can say :D I look like a Gentleman rather than a teenage hooligan on it. But secretly I can be a hooligan on back-roads when nobody is looking 😜
There is no point in comparing torque numbers in engines that rev differently. A higher revving engine makes less torque on the crank, but can be geared to make the same or more power on the wheel. Power is the absolute measurement, torque depends on gearing. Extreme counter-example: Imagine an engine that makes 300Nm but makes one revolution about once a minute. You would have to gear it super high to move be able to move at 50km/h, but the torque on the wheel would be so low that it would not even take off. Conclusion: Torque figures on the crank are marketing gimmicks. The power curve is what matters (not just peak hp) but also how much of that peak hp it makes at eg. half the maximum rpm.
I will own my fz07 forever, it's a blast to ride if your a hoonigan. Awesome budget bike and you don't feel bad beating it like a red headed step child. Exhaust, cheap suspension fixes, and some personal touches make this into fantastic bike.....unless your tall, then you will feel like a booger being rolled between someone's thumb and index finger. Mt09 fits 5'10" + riders better.
It's super addictive.... wait till you get on an MT09/10 or hyper naked where you're sat up right and got 100hp+ to throw you out of the bike if you're not holding on properly haha
@@UrgetoRide xmm so i dont like the position of the seat how to sit on the bike.... 09 hasnt height limit and you cant hold the gas tank with your legs and i don't like that....07 is my first big bike and i love it really
I don't know anyone with an MT07, but i don't want your dog, thank you. I would have said the Triumph Street Triple was bike of the decade, personally. I'm biased because i have one and 3 of my friends do as well.
I've had an fz07 for the pas couple of years and can confirm a couple spots get rusty. Trying my best to take good care of it now though, I love the thing it's problems for now are so worth it.

I've got two in my garage. One for me, one for the wife. Both have a pipe and a tune which is absolutely perfect for the bike. The sound and smoothness are how the bike should have come from the factory. I've put over 15k miles in 2 years. I love the bike!
What exhaust have you got on them ?
@@UrgetoRide They've both have a Yoshimura exhaust including the header. I bought both from Two Wheel Dynoworks.

How do I land my hands on a used one but in good condition
I love my MT07 more and more after every ride. Nice and nimble, love the acceleration even though its restricted and it's alright on fuel.

Slap on a Bagster Bultex seat. Best mod I ever did (after the Akra without baffle).
My neighbours feckin hate me for that XD

Call me weird but I won't buy a bike that doesn't have at least LED headlights and a TFT display in 2020/21.

Hahaha felt bad 'shooting the ambulance' talking about the Gladius but they asked for it with that restyle 😂 Thanks for popping by Banditman !

i fallen in love with mt07 exhaust sound, solid reason to buy it
Facts
The big tyre on mt07 is a marketing gimmick. It slows down the bike actually.
I must be one of the few people who actually like the NM4 and it's grandpa, the pc800
Thanks!
Hahaha thanks for popping by on both videos ! Agreed the T7 is a back to basics, no wonder it struck a chord with a lot of people ;)
A T7 review like this one would be nice.
USD forks and a tail tuck would make the MT07 the ultimate machine!! best engine since the early 900ss ducati
Doing my DAS on an MT-07. Never knew I was a yobbo before 🤣
I learned to ride on an MT-07.
But the CB looks sooo much handsomer. Really really good looking bike
Would that not have been a step down from mt07 to the CB?
bought my 2020 2 weeks ago first street bike and omg i am in love
Brilliant video, I really enjoyed it. The Trump hand reference was awesome!
Nicely done sir!!! I just got an R3 after being out of riding for 20 yrs (family, career, etc.); and when I get the rust off with my super cool little R3 I may jump to an MT-09 but this video was very helpful...appreciate it!
Welcome back to the riding gang ! You've been missed :)
I just Luv it
💘
I went for a test drive, and I was instantly in love with this bike, one day I went on a bike meet up with my enduro bike and I saw a guy with a Shiver 750, I asked him if I could take it for a spin and my love for the MT-07 faded away, the overall power of the bike was about the same, but the driving feeling of the Shiver was excellent. In the end I went and bought one used with no rust issues at all, for an Italian bike I have never faced any issues, next stop the Tuono 660 ;)
Very well done! A promising channel - never ever subbed after watching just one vid, but here we go :)
2017 MT07 owner here, eager to get a supersport next and do some track days, BUT I convinced my fiance to get a bike license so that she can "inherit" my MT eventually and it stays in the family :D it's too good of a bike to let it go..
Precisely, I'm sure an MT07 in California would be fine, but down here where it rains.. quite often, it CAN become a big concern..
Excellent production and presentation on this, very professional, TV presenter of the future?
Means a lot to me Steve, appreciate it. You see with TV you would never get such direct feedback from the community. You lose a lot of personal touch - I would never want to give that away.
@Felipe Ortiz Hahahaha oh well anything to help the Kind of Spain ! 😂
I am so glad I watched till the end because that blooper was Hilarious 😂
Great video! I love just how much in detail you went, with history, dirty secrets, etc..
Hope you'll post more in the future!
Man.. that was the best intro in the histoty of UA-cam
Outstanding work.
Love clean information with a sense of humor.
Keep up the good work!
I ride a tracer 900 2020 but whenever i saw a mt07 i looking it and i want it!! DAMNN
Hey now! I have a 2009 XJ6 and I like it more than the newer MT07's. Ive ridden both plenty.
The XJ6 is more grownup - and that definitely has its public I don't deny that!
Great video, very informative. I love my '16 FZ 07. 44k kms and we go everywhere, and it's always a great time!
I'm sure it is, its like a good best friend, who won't prioritize his girlfriend or **hurl**, his child.. over going out with you. It'll always be waiting for you, ready to ride.
its crazy how fun the MT07 actually is. you wouldnt believe it until you rode one. only thing i immediately disliked was the seat
This dude fucks ! Also agreed
@@UrgetoRide Is that a term from the UK? I've never heard that.
Also, the Nardo grey with yellow wheels is the best looking colour scheme on any bike from the last decade (possibly ever). Don't @ me.
@snowballs14
Even after a lot of bigger bikes, I really liked my MT07. But three years from new and mine had rust sprouting all over.
The steel swingarm is awfull, but you can fit a alloy one from a Tracer 700.
Passed my licence on it and i totally understand why so much ppl got one. Thing's a lil' riot. Made me enjoy even more having my lessons.
@@UrgetoRide Dealer networks really are an issue. Hell, my nearest KTM dealer is 6 hours away...
I just got a 2021 mt07 today! Last one at the dealership!
add a 2022 MT07 to my stable, sitting alongside a 2003 HD lowrider and a 2014 HD street glide special. this little weight is just about the perfect machine for this 53 year old 5'5: 160 lb.
You can count on a new subscriber! One of the only 17 minute videos I have watches all the way through! Entertaining and informative. Good job!
I choose my CBR600RR any day over MT07. I went from FJ6 to CBR to keep the revs up with the inline six!
Ouch as an owner that Gladius slander hurts. But I have spent many hundreds of dollars making it look like a normal SV650 so you ain't wrong.
You're probably the first Gladius owner I encountered who can take a joke !😂
I own an FZ 07 and an FZ 09. Let my buddy ride my 7 and he went and got himself one within a few weeks.
You missed one thing about MT07 success : it can be ride with an A2 license in Europe
It was such an obvious thing it slipped my mind !
12:31 that skit is beautiful 😂😂
I used to own a 1999 VFR800,
bought new. The saying was "if you own one bike, this is the one" How true, great bike. For me, 5'5" 140 lbs, the MT07 is better, just needs a better seat and a decent windscreen for longer rides. Easily done. Mine is a 2016.
Coming from the Viffer the MT07 must feel soooo light and agile. Definitely got two of the all time best bikes there
Really really good channel. Keep building it and please make that MT-09 video..!

Absolutely right. The MT-07 is the bike that seems to hit the nail on the head, and would be the bike that I would buy if parting with my hard-earned money wasn't so difficult for me. The best part is that it wheelies!
Second hand ones are getting really quite cheap... Be tempted my friend !

Do you recommend on getting an mt 07 on 2021? And why not?
And sorry, nice video. Learned a lot, thanks for sharing. Im subscribing
Thanks Rob welcome aboard matie 🤜🤛
cant wait to get mine! started with the wifes mt03 as a new rider, already tried a few more bikes including the t700 and looking foward to get a mt07
Instant sub at the "S1000RRRRRR", almost died laughing
My absolute pleasure - and lucky man, a GSA and T7 garage combo is all you could ever need
Wow good for him. Although if he lives in like Arizona then I'm not surprised haha..
My Tracer 700 was rusting fast so I sold it.
Hope the T7 is better.

First time viewer of your channel. I was interested until Mk.1 VW GTI reference....now I'm 100% a fan. What an incredible video! Thanks!
I really hope u make a video about the hypermotard……that also deserves its own segment …….come on u know I’m right!
Anyone that rides a MT07 has a opinion of it. It’s a bike remembered. Other bikes get forgotten but the MT07 never will
I learned on an kawa er6-n and my first bike is my current 2018 model, I am just as much in love with it as the first time I rode it. I'm quite short (168cm/70kg) so the suspension doesn't bother me as much although I can feel it sometimes.... but man..... that engine rumble with my carbon akra is the sound of bike gods ejaculating
I bought mine in 2014 and sold it 2019. The biggest problem was suspension. I have changed it with Ohlins. It become a Behemoth.

I look like a Gentleman rather than a teenage hooligan on it.
I am a owner of mt-07 17' and is so amazing the way that accelerate is so cool... If you don't prepared it will get out of your hands
I actually DON'T know anyone that owns an MT07 or MT09...I now find that very strange
format and presentation is great btw. Was surprised to see you only had 2k subs. keep it up man. subbed
Much appreciated matie. Welcome aboard 🤜🤛
I've had an fz07 for the pas couple of years and can confirm a couple spots get rusty. Trying my best to take good care of it now though, I love the thing it's problems for now are so worth it.
Highly recommend ACF50 or similar (although ACF is best from my personal experience).
3:58 FZ6r slander will not be tolerated hahaa I love my comfy little inline 4
And power to you ! Ride what you love my friend
Your channels amazing mate. Best bike videos I’ve seen in a long time
