A cool thing I witnessed - a few years ago, our ship was leaving port while another was entering. People first started the usual waving and yelling to each other. All of a sudden, some people started cheering, and soon, everyone on both boats was cheering to each other at the same time! It ended really loud and beautiful - a great feeling!!!
Adrian Oquendo Disney would have destroyed them because on time I was one the Disney Fantasy and a Norwegian ship docked there to and the Norwegian ship blew its horn and the Disney ship did its "when you wish upon a star" horn and after that the Norwegian ship gave up it was hilarious
My wife and I went to Grand Cayman, Key West, and Ocho Rios Jamaica last March. We took the Freedom and had a blast! Ive cruised on Carnival & RCCL, and bang for the buck... Carnival every time. we did the pub crawl in key west, went zip lining through the forests in Ocho Rios, did an underwater tour in the Cayman Isles and visited Hell and had our passports stamped. Cant wait to go again.
Finally got to experience my first live horn battle last week in St. Thomas between these same two ships. I was on Dream and my wife and I were the only two stading on the pier next to Freedom as it pulled off. We were trying like crazy to get them to do it and they did.
I was on the Dream this summer and we noticed the same, that the horn didn't seem very loud when battling in St Thomas. However, we came to a theory that it's designed so it doesn't deafen the passengers onboard, but is heard greatly from a distance - and this video proves that.
That's pretty cool. I could be wrong, but I think those blasts and the length of each one actually mean something. Like, going to pass and that sort of thing. But, I could be wrong. :-)
There is something so cool about seeing these huge modern ships full of people with like minded states just being near each other. Would be a cool atmosphere to be in. Question is though, who has the best ship?
MS Allure of the Seas was constructed at STX Europe's Turku Shipyard for an investment of $1.2bn. Her keel was laid at the shipyard in December 2008 and her maiden voyage took place in December 2010 in the east and west Caribbean.
Allure wasn't built when it was shot, so it's gotta be Oasis :) Allure's maiden voyage was in in December 2010, so Allure wasn't quite in the oceans yet :)
It is. I actually did a good job remembering every ship we came across during this cruise but when I made the decision to label the ships, the new Royal Princess was about to be launched. I had to go through my pictures to see if I had a shot of it since it was docked between the ship I'm on in this video and the Dream. I tried searching for the original but only the new one comes up.
That must have been the now retired Royal Princess that you labeled there, since the new one was launched like 4 months ago. I wonder which line the original one sails for now. They couldn't have scrapped it, wasn't that old.
@HazeGreyAndUnderway Terminal staff for cruise lines rarely ever work for the cruise line. Background checks and fingerprints are only done to get work credentials. Other then that, it depends where you live. I started with the shoreside company that does Holland America and Carnival in Ft. Lauderdale and then switched to another company. I did meet and greet at Ft. Lauderdale airport when I started. Now I do check in and a number of other things at the port.
These are not for your fun as a passenger these are warnings to other vessels about course and being underway. The response back is a way to say I know your intentions.
🙏🇮🇳The Spirits Of Ship - Carnival Ship s the movement from darkness to light. Ship s the development of Power & Ideal Of Dreams. And s the ability to meet life's Dreams & situations. All The Best To All Carnival Ship Capitan's, Teams & Workers. Jai Hind.
The MSC Splendia and the P&O cruise (the latest one) is my favourites, reasons, 1. Splendia plays my favourite song when docking and leaving, its called seven nation army, 2. The p&o cruises are way too cool, there’s even models of the own ship on their stores!
In August of 2013 i went on the Carnival Magic and we where near other Carnival cruise ships and others like Royal Caribbean and etc and they where honking bye to us and Magic did not honk once to the ships which made me mad...
@mrtthepwnage331 ahhh but im not. when i took this cruise in march of 2009 i was working for a company that handles the turn around days for holland america and carnival. i didnt start with ncl until june of 2010

I remember doing that in Cozumel when I was on the Liberty and watching the Freedom as we left port! Aw memories
No.
I see beauty in cruise ships, and seeing a bunch of them together is truly awe inspiring.
I would have laughed so hard if some Disney cruise came out of nowhere and did its when you wish upon a star!
Like if it warped over there a honked away.
Adrian Oquendo and the MSC Splendida warps in blowing Seven Nation Army and We Will Rock You.
I was on spendor
omg yes lol
Disney Dream be like: *hold my beer*
*when u wish echoes the sea*
that one person who said "Goodbye fellow people of the dream" had me laughing so hard
This has got to be one of the best Carnival battles I've even heard/watched
That Dream is GORGEOUS! And yeah, I see Oasis of the Seas and an NCL Dawn-class ship in the background.
My wife and I went to Grand Cayman, Key West, and Ocho Rios Jamaica last March. We took the Freedom and had a blast! Ive cruised on Carnival & RCCL, and bang for the buck... Took that same cruise! Amazing one!
Me too!! It was my first cruise and I recommend them highly....
Whispers “diiiiisssssnnnneeeeyyyyyyyy”
That's what I sound like when I have too much fiber

The blue lights on the carnival ship are awesome
The residents must love this...
These videos are so fun to watch 😍
I went on the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas... What an amazing time. She's a beautiful vessel. I will be going on the Allure this weekend. :)
I was on the Dream this summer and we noticed the same, that the horn didn't seem very loud when battling in St Thomas. However, we came to a theory that it's designed so it doesn't deafen the passengers onboard, but is heard greatly from a distance - and this video proves that.
On 0:01 the ship (Carnival Dream ) looks like it's smiling.
Lol it does too 😊
But smug not happy but smug
Carnival Dream be like: - ᴗ -
My best friend just got back from a carribean cruise on tge Dream!!! It was last week
That's pretty cool. I could be wrong, but I think those blasts and the length of each one actually mean something. Like, going to pass and that sort of thing. But, I could be wrong. :-)
That is correct. Combinations of the length of each blast plus the number of blasts have different meanings.
U right
Cat Weasle 3 longs and one short signals a farewell and safe journey
Awesome carnival dream ship horn battle also beautiful carnival carnival dream ship
I came off the dream in November and I loved it so much
There is something so cool about seeing these huge modern ships full of people with like minded states just being near each other. Would be a cool atmosphere to be in. Question is though, who has the best ship?
Is it just me or in 0:07 he zoomed in to see a glimpse at oasis or allure?
Oasis. I don't believe the Allure was out when this was shot.
MS Allure of the Seas was constructed at STX Europe's Turku Shipyard for an investment of $1.2bn. Her keel was laid at the shipyard in December 2008 and her maiden voyage took place in December 2010 in the east and west Caribbean.
@@TraumaQueenAirOne He asked a question not for a lecture of some crap you looked up on Wikipedia to look smart.
Allure wasn't built when it was shot, so it's gotta be Oasis :)
Allure's maiden voyage was in in December 2010, so Allure wasn't quite in the oceans yet :)
Oasis!
Standard international horn signals. Three long blasts = I am going astern.
Going to Hawaii on Princess in November. This will be our third cruise on Princess. Been on Carnival many times. We like both lines.
The dream is the ship i sailed on!
I went on the RC Freedom of the Seas!! The horn was L O U D !! The ship was incredible and big!
That was cool, Would have been great if they could have synchronized the Close Encounters theme.
I love seeing a bunch of ships together
COOL VIDEO!
Would be great to install one on your car
It'd scare people OFF the road! Lol
I’ve been on the carnival freedom and it was fun
Just got off freedom I miss it 😥😥
now the carnival dream is on fire, literally
I saw both of these ships. The Dream in Port Canaveral and the Freedom in Fort Lauderdale.
I live on a sail boat in St.thomas harbor and they are really load, not just the horns but the boats themselves.
man i was on a princess cruise and on my way to st thomas we sailed along two other carnival ships but they stopped somewhere else
This would be a good wake-up call at 0:58
I have been on Carnival sunshine from port Canaveral next to Disney dream.
That must have been the now retired Royal Princess that you labeled there, since the new one was launched like 4 months ago. I wonder which line the original one sails for now. They couldn't have scrapped it, wasn't that old.
Oasis of the Seas? Wow that's super hot! I mean once the second largest cruise ship in the world currently.
I'd hate to have this as my alarm clock.
Spongebob has one :3
Man that Oasis ship is freaking gigantic.

The horns are each Ibuki Kogyo MH-550's
Three horn blasts signify 'operating astern', ie. reversing. Venice is incredible for this.. BTW, Thomson Destiny has a BIG horn!
Sooooon! I can’t wait!
@thefirechaser24
I was on the same cruise last week. It was incredible. Wonder if we ran across each other any?
I've been to st thomas. Anyone here been to magens bay?
Me
carnival freedom looks like costa concordia but with a different funnel
those horn blasts echo for miles
St Thomas is scary and it feels so weird driving on the other side of the road
I think I was on it at this time. I was about 4 or 5 at this time
i was on the carnival dream it was a nice vacation
inside the funnel or by the radars because most Carnival ships have two whistles
I love this
Horn in red blue without stars of any so many - from.warm.to blue sea
I just wonder why there are 5 different carnival ships at my local port.
Whatever you do: Don't mess with a Disney cruise
These are not for your fun as a passenger these are warnings to other vessels about course and being underway. The response back is a way to say I know your intentions.
Note the sarcasm ;) But even so, the fact you can still see it clearly is amazing! I'm going on Liberty later on in July, can't wait!
Gotta love 1:22
2019 anyone ?
People on dream: oh it’s just a ship. Everyone else in other ones : ITS The DREAM LOOK THE 8 horned ship!!!
I was on the Carnaval dream at that time
based on a carnival steeling fun from the disney cruise i started to think it needed to SHUT UP i liked the horns
The dream looks smug
😎
Disney dream be like: this is easy grab this ama challenge them I'm gonna win
I feel bad for the people sleeping ...
it looks like sunset
who the fuck goes to sleep at 6 pm
LuckyGamer1378 fat people after eating sugar.
carnival fantasy has a deeper horn than the carnival dream
That's the way the ships comunicate
I love Royal Caribbean and Carnival, (I have been on two of each (the Dream and the Sensation)(cant remember the Royals))
@ecoRfan the ncl ship in the distance is the pearl. i actually work with ncl.
I will work on a cruise ship someday.
They have the same horn as each other
Oasis of the Seas...more than likely a few hundred miles from the camera ;)
I was on freedom that day
It's a ultimate horn battle
That is the ship Alvin and the chipmunks was filmed
Dream Barly Blow its horn.... I was on that ship and I didnt hear a peep from that Funnel
🙏🇮🇳The Spirits Of Ship - Carnival Ship s the movement from darkness to light. Ship s the development of Power & Ideal Of Dreams.

So cute!
That is awesome! Can I use this video on my site tips2cruise?
Its not horn wars. They are communicating. Although when leaving the berth its one long, three short blasts. And five short for small craft advisory.
you mean more like 4 miles...she left the other berth at St.Thomas
THE DISNY MAGIC AND THE DISNY WONDER AND THE DISNEY DREAM AND THE DISNEY FANTASY ARE THE ONLY CRUISE SHIPS I LIKE
+Tricia Asbra thats bad other ships are way better
Tricia Asbra Did I ask ?
YAAAAASS YOU TELL THEM
well fuck you then
The MSC Splendia and the P&O cruise (the latest one) is my favourites, reasons, 1. Splendia plays my favourite song when docking and leaving, its called seven nation army, 2. The p&o cruises are way too cool, there’s even models of the own ship on their stores!
and here we see two cruise ships meeting...
they are mating it appears.
MY HEARS!!!!!!!!
I went from Barcelona!
Princess is the best line.
What port are you going out of?
it sounds like the Ducks Goal Horn
In August of 2013 i went on the Carnival Magic and we where near other Carnival cruise ships and others like Royal Caribbean and etc and they where honking bye to us and Magic did not honk once to the ships which made me mad...
@thefirechaser24 Me too! I hope to see it soon.
You mean you need your car on that horn
@mrtthepwnage331 ahhh but im not. when i took this cruise in march of 2009 i was working for a company that handles the turn around days for holland america and carnival. i didnt start with ncl until june of 2010
meanwhile ... princess and oasis are having their own battle
@skimsoflo1219 Cool! My relatives from Maine have cruised on several ships from NCL!
I would go outside and yell HONNNNK!!!!
"Goodbye dumb people on the dream!" :o the dream is bigger than freedom! That little pimple! Lol
