COVID vaccination doesn't guarantee that recipients won't get infected. instead, it reduces (by a certain %age) the likelihood of the worst outcomes if you should exposed: i.e., hospitalization/intubation and death. Bill Maher was vaccinated and still got COVID. But he was protected from the worst effects of it. The unvaccinated people who are bragging that they got COVID and it's no big deal are ignorant of the potential long-term effects that might still affect them (e.g., cognitive decline, heart problems, short-term memory loss, etc.), but you can be sure they won't be sharing THAT information with everyone when it happens to them. But you can bet everything you have that they'll show up at the hospital and demand to be treated.
I mean none of them are 100% effective against all strains , but some decent resistance is a good thing , if your fully vaccinated you have a almost 0 chance to die from covid , I wonder what the reduction in long term damage will be for those who got the vaccine , the permanent heart and lung tissue scarring is probably the most concerning

I think, but I would need to go back and verify this, that he was charged but as part of his plea agreement it was suspended. Remember when he appeared before Judge Emmitt Sullivan for sentencing the first time? Judge Sullivan tore him a new behind and asked the prosecutors if they had looked at treason. Then he told Flynn he would not guarentee no jail time for his offenses at this time if he went ahead with sentencing that day without fulfilling his plea agreement to cooperate in all matters he agreed to do and possibly helped more. Flynn then withdrew wanting to be sentenced that day. Flynn did not fulfill his plea agreement by testifying against his business partner and more. You probably know how all the rest played out. At this point, trump has pardoned him. But he has committed further acts and I believe the military should order him back into active duty and hold a court marshall and try him for all crimes against the United States in a military court. At a minimum, strip him down of all ranks and dishonorably discharge him. But that's just my opinion

Hey I'm vaccinated, but I'm wondering if it could be worth wearing a mask anyway at the movies in hopes no one wants to sit close to me.
Yeah, I'm vaccinated too, but when I was at the hardware store a couple of times this weekend, EVERYONE was wearing a mask, so the best way to keep people away (at least where I am, and at this particular point in time) is to NOT wear a mask. As things progress, eventually the way to keep people away will be to WEAR a mask. You really have to play it by ear on every situation :) Also, I have a pretty scruffy "work from home so don't care about shaving" beard, and was in dirty clothes (because I'm not going to put on nice clothes to go to the hardware store to buy gravel and concrete retaining wall bricks just to get them dirty). There are many tactics you can use to keep people away - the best approach is a multi-pronged approach!

In addition, Mensa did not provide the child's IQ to the parents; the Mensa proctored test does not provide an IQ number for anyone. The results are pass/fail, falling in the top 2% or not. Mensa does accept the results of several specific outside proctored tests and evaluations for qualification. Tests resulting in an actual IQ number are typically administered by someone such as a psychologist, psychiatrist or similar.
I celebrated Memorial Day by taking a terra cotta pot painted by my daughter, in which I planted some bush beans, to my grandfather’s grave. He was a veteran who passed January 25, 2020. Grandpa Hurley grew the best green beans I’ve ever tasted and he would have been disgusted by the past year. I miss him and his shenanigans, which were endless and fantastic.
What a lovely remembrance: it connects you, your daughter, something your grandfather loved, and something living/thriving/nurturing with the memory of him.

Sometimes a child can display above (or in this case, VERY above) average intelligence for many years, but then the other children catch up. We won't really know how strong her IQ is until her late teens.

I think of the ladies in hidden figures and how they changed the world. This kid is used to learning and answering questions but also loves Disney and kids stuff so not being forced to grow up immediately. Can't wait to see how far she goes and hope they show her good values such as kindness, compassion to go along with her brains.

I was a child genius... Turned out pretty decent for me . But i would never draw attention to IQ intelligence as there are different forms of intelligence that are equally important and i would never have children get too much attention purely on IQ.

It’s cute and all, but there’s no way it’s long-term healthy for that kid to be treated like a genius at a young age. She’ll be isolated by her peers for it, and she might not turn out to be all that brilliant as she ages.
