It's kind of heartwarming how quickly Letterman took to these two. ...Yes, it's Beavis and Butthead of all people, but it's more so the talent behind this show mixing with a class act of a late night host.
This video shows how Beavis and Butthead's reception has changed over the decades. I remember being a kid in school and being yelled at by some girl cuz she overheard me doing the B&B laugh.. as if it were some disgusting violation😠. Now, in 2022, their movie has a score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes???😯 Thanks for posting the video!
The 1996 movie got pretty good reviews and was well received by both fans and critics, and as I remember it, by the time the 96 film came out the show had not had any problems or controversy as it did just a mere 3 years prior. I was a hardcore fan right from the start as a 10 year old girl, I got A LOT of hate in school for being a fan especially from my female classmates, but by 96 it kinda died down. I remember even non fans going to see the movie and enjoying it. Nowadays, I think nostalgia is playing a big role in why so many people are hyped about the new movie and show but it is really good and the OG fans are all grown up now and don't have to worry about what other people think anymore
you can tel B&B was a breath of fresh air for Letterman, when i saw his first interview with M.Judge i got the feeling he was talking to him like a fanboy, rather than an interviewer. he clearly was fascinated with the concept of the show and was one of the first ones who undertood where they were coming from
My favorite Beavis and Butthead moment was the boys watching the Hall & Oates "Maneater" video Butthead says "hey Beavis are you a Maneater"? Beavis says Yeah Yeah" beavis then thinks about it and says NO" lol
We are so appreciative of the work Don has done, and the official channel is firing on all cylinders. It’s a great time to be an enthusiast of Dave & Co.
Dave embraced this show and he had no requirement - it wasn’t on his network. You wouldn’t see that now. He also had Mike Judge, who was a small animator, on a lot. Letterman had a cameo in the first film. You can’t talk about that series without mentioning Letterman’s unwavering support of it. B & B are modern day Three Stooges and Letterman made them cooler to like.
The looks of the characters look like they're an homage to Mike Judge's time as a blues bassman. Anson Funderburgh and Doyle Bramhall. ETA: Best B&B line, " Picasso? Pick your own asso ... asso!"
With all of the appearances that B&B made on the Late Show over the years, I'm gutted that they didn't make one last one during the finale. That would've ruled, hehe.
Uhh no… they were garbage. They claimed “Alien”.. one of the best movies ever made, so good it holds up today just as well as it did over 40 years ago as a “haunted house movie in space that never pays off”. The only movies they seemed to applaud were the artsy fartsy type that the general audience thought were ok at best. I don’t wish them harm and hope they found peace in death but as film critics they were highly overrated and untrustworthy
@@dbycrash Ebert gave Alien 4/4 stars. Both he and Siskel championed movies like Halloween and Star Wars that other snooty critics turned their noses at. To say they only enjoyed artsy fartsy stuff is either willfully disingenuous, or plain ignorant. Even Siskel, the snootier of the two liked movies such as Starship Troopers, Robocop, and the Rambo movies. They weren't perfect, but they were always sincere.
That one part where beavis gets jabbed in the eye with the pencil I remember that pretty vividly from my childhood, it's funnier the fact he keeps clapping while his eye is squirting blood
Did you know... Matt Groening and Mike Judge were together at Evergreen State College. My friend's dad (at The Cove) in late 70s Tacoma, used to always say, "D'oh !" And that's how he started it in The Simpsons.
@@READYTEDDYBEAR And you were right. The explanation from the guy who actually does the voice is more trustworthy than some online comment from a rando.
Um, did you not see the last couple minutes of this? Letterman was ripping on Obama and Cheney. Guess the difference is that Letternman just made fun of all of em compared to most others where they were slanted in one way or another.
So I don't know what I was doing that was so important during the '90s when BnB became such a hit. I saw three or four episodes over a period of time, and I got the humor, but never laughed as hard at them as I do today, 30 years later. Why is that? and I'm an old man, now. They're hilarious. Is it the simplicity of it all? what?
I remember watching this at my friends house. Late at night, on the couch and I can still smell that house..it was full of roaches and hard to sleep in..on the couch. I like most didn't have cable TV. It was almost like a fever dream, just the glow of the TV...maybe Roseanne would be doing standup or MTV would have these dudes on talking mess about music videos to songs I couldn't believe existed. Hard to imagine this became popular but MTV was like Disney magic at the time. Now it's nothing, music TV is basically dead..including CMT and VH1 and Disney magic is gone..it's practically the evil empire now. It's very sad.
Truth is right in your face if you know what you're really looking at! they always tell us what they are doing ,Dave just told you clones are real, but you may think its just a funny skit?

I was an early teen when Bevis and Butthead came out. I didn't and still don't like them. I need a bit more story to be entertained. I did fall for Family Guy, however.
Maybe because b&b have two characters that joke around and other characters in this show are pretty serious. While family guy has a whole town of jokers nobody is serious.
That's why there are so many choices in entertainment. People have different tastes. You feeling that way kinda makes me wonder why you bothered to click on this video in the first place.
Dave's clear delight with the B+B concept makes me smile so much.
He loved the show.
David Letterman played Butthead’s dad in the movie. The dude’s a true fanboy.
Turned it into a 3 Stooges Moment! LMFAO!
Yep🤔😉
He's truly the ultimate fanboy, really🤣
He voiced both Beavis and Butthead's fathers. Pretty cool.
ok wow didn't know that. that's pretty cool
WHAT?? I didn't know that but it makes sense since he does love B&B
Never saw Siskel & Ebert impersonating Beavis and Butthead before. 😄
Same, that was so bad it was good 😂
They were so bad at it that I think they were contractually forced or something, huh, huh
It's kind of heartwarming how quickly Letterman took to these two.
...Yes, it's Beavis and Butthead of all people, but it's more so the talent behind this show mixing with a class act of a late night host.

I always thought Homer said D'oh because Dan Castanella was a fan of Laurel & Hardy and their film regular James Findlayson who said "'D'oh".
I saw a interview with Dan castellaneta and homer's signature sound, the script just read "Annoyed grunt" And Dan castellaneta said "d'oh"
