None of these fads surprised me because I am fortunate enough to have been a child of the 70s. No, we didn't think that mood rings could read us but we loved the playful vibe. You could also add "free-range" children to this list. Aside from school, we went where we wanted to, whenever we wanted to. Just be home in time for dinner. We'd also go to the doctor or dentist alone. And cruising down the freeway in the back of a pickup truck or the back of a station wagon. Clackers. I never could get the hang of those, and they definitely hurt when they whacked you. Water Wiggle, Lawn Darts, all kinds of crazy toys, lol. :)
