Enjoyed this one mate, Tony really knows his stuff, I will definately be buying that book, more like this one lad.
I'm from Plymouth and been loads of city's, Cardiff is probably my favorite city in the UK...best company loved that brand in the late 80s early 90s. Henry cotton ball and Ciao were great brands back in the day
Plymouth 8o's Lois , Soviet , Chipie , Fila , Bennetton, Timberland deck shoes .
Shout out to the Best Company t-shirt, loved them, Iceberg and Soviet jeans back in the 90's.
Woodies & Pavilion. Fantastic memories
Nice bit of best company clothing. The late 80s and early 90s football fashion definitely had some influence from the Paninari in Milan. On another note, I remember stone island being expensive but today the prices are ludicrous!
That’s the first thing I thought looks well looked after as well 👌
Some of the newer stone island stuff isn’t even made in Europe anymore.
Brilliant 👍🏼 remember buying from woodies great shop got my very first stone island chord shirt still got it to this day that was 94 great knowledge right there 👍🏼
Nice one mate
Great video this thank you for sharing - took me back to the Armani golden eagle days, and stone island ice jackets on sale for £50 wow 😮
Really interesting interview.. As a teenager in tate 80s it was Nike Air Max, Suede & leather with paisley lining from Petticoat Lane and Acid House hoodie. Fond memories. Couldn't get rid of C17 jeans with Suede badge pockets though 👌
Nike ...just don't (apart from cortez or flame!)
In 89, I got an SI jumper for £95 for my 21st & my brother got a Sweet Wrapper SI jacket for £120 in the sales. Prior to that I'd been wearing C17, Appaloosa, Bonneville.
Great days following BHA.
Emailed for info to buy book.
C17 , I got called a n@zi for wearing that in the early 90s... didn't have a clue, I was a raver me.

Just bought this book, can’t wait to read/ see it
Ordered the book today. Appreciate the heads up Hoxton.
Lot of people think football when stone island is mentioned I was bought up in a family were football was non existent.. I’ve always loved the brand for what it is the style and quality 👌
Excellent video great memories for me ❤
Brilliant interview, really enjoyed that 👍
Class watching these videos i live in cardiff and proud of my city❤
In Edinburgh Scotland we had to take trips down to Gateshead near Newcastle to get Stoney, . We had Buzzini clothing in Edinburgh which sold Ciao, Sonneti, Chevignon,Le Garage, C17 but it wasn’t until Cruise opened its doors in Edinburgh you got Stone Island, Boneville, Best Company, Navy Artic Liberto , Armand Basi , Armani, CP Company. Which saved you from having to take the train down there!
Stone island is to expensive
That’s the difference between a proper lad who knows the score so intelligently with a wealth of topics and not just who the best mobs were
Couldn’t agree more makes a good change doesn’t it 👍
Top fella is Tony . Actually has the knowledge from lived experience and not a jumped on the bandwagon instagram buyer , magnetic book is a definitive , well researched and written book by both Tony & James .
Exactly, spot on
Shout out Hox for showcasing the UK fashion scene/culture
Awesome interview guys - really informative, can you make more content together in the future?
That is the plan mate, hold tight for more.
Great interview
Brilliant interview with an intelligent knowledgeable Bloke 10/10👌👍
Wealth of knowledge fair play

Glad you enjoyed it brother ❤
Such a great video to watch 👍I’m
In love with that white best company jumper 👌👌
Nice quiet mention & pic of Kerso RIP.
This was recorded a few months before Kerso’s passing but nice touch that they added his photo
@@vlad7667 I guessed it was given the Cardiff your vid was posted months back.
Cracking vid mr hox keep um coming 🔥👌
Thanks mate, more coming like this asap,
Nice one Lakey.Last time i saw you was outside the'Borough'wearing a smart black Prada jacket!Manure were down for the weekend lol!Good luck with the book.
I remember reading that Stone Island over shirts and light jackets were made with strong Aramid fibers which had the same properties as Kevlar. This would explain why it was popular with football hooligans, as it was essentially a Kevlar stab proof coat of armour.
Class 👌
John Anthony Shaftesbury Ave I remember going in there 94/95 when I first started wearing SI
We need you for our shop 70 meet up video coming up soon bud, we are trying to gather a few heads to meet up and discuss the old independents, let me know if you are up for it
@ Need to give me your Email bruv I ain't got social media But I am definitely interested I was buying SI etc from 94/95 when it wasn't as mainstream and wasn't many gaffs other than Woodhouse that people knew about So Creeks John Anthony Zee& Co ( The Angel branch ) unless you was a in London it was hard to find these gaffs.😉
@@Shaky.P Err... amongst others you had Way-in at Harrods, John Anthony, Marlin, Walker & Webster, Reiss, Jones, Quincy, Apparel in Croydon, TW Mitchell, Pie, Zee & Co, Zagger, Matches etc... etc...

Shop 70 is now a Ryman store. What a store, you used to get some exclusive bits in there . From outside it looked like a charity store. I remember buying my first stone island reversible jacket in there for £90 . They used to sell some nice iceberg history in there also , what an amazing store I was lucky to of got a few gems from there
Do you live nearby the area, would love to have chat about it for a video? You do need to be on camera, I think it could be interesting to hear the stories about it.
@ used to live stokey/islington bro, born and raised, so zee n co and shop 70 were my go to stores. However im now far removed to Essex . I’ll drop you a dm on insta see if we can sort something
@@terrysmith8918please do mate would love that 👍
All about the vintage Italian S.I. and C.P the new Turkish stuff is tat
Zee and Co is still there.
I remember that shop in Russell Square but I always thought it was called Creeks
@@chrisowen1749 I remember it being called Creeks too.
It was called Walker & Webster and at a later date they changed it to Shop 70. Never heard it called Creeks but it was mainly shite by '96
Good luck boys
Jesus christ. This fellas well clued up 👍
👌🏿👏🏿👌🏿👏🏿👌🏿👏🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👏🏿
I was thinking this channel was about the old 'oxton mob. Can't believe what I'm actually watching. Whavagot a crovagock of shivagit 👈there you go, some original old school Hoxton back slang for ya 😁
Another enjoyable watch! ...gutted he didn't after speaking do a quick walk through of the items he had in store :(
It’s not Tony’s shop . Check out the other Cardiff videos where more is spoken about on the shop
I don't like wearing my 'vintage bought late 80's early 90's' SI gear anymore apart from
my jeans. Which are very retro 😀
I now look for high quality without a 'hit you in the face label'
I wouldn't call Stone Island's logo in your face. It's A small label on the arm, not a massive print across the chest.
Italians know how to dress
Don’t forget chippie jeans
CP,Si,⚓️,
Of course every pub has at least one of this type with stories of violence and slashing the tales get more and more absurd as the years go by and the drink goes down I just tell them no i would buy you a drink go away
I think you’ve come to the wrong video. There isn’t one mention of violence
Having a bad week mate ???
