    Great video. Installed our Cruiserlift on a 2005 Phaeton diesel pusher and hauled a 2003 BMW R1150RT.

    I bought mine in 2009, and I love it. I have hauled my Goldwing all over the country and don't worry about trailering. I have changed the cable once and had one weld on the hitch crack but the unit was strong enough to get back home and get it fixed. I would definitely recommend this product. I can flat tow my jeep as well. It is mounted on a Phaeton

      +John Meredith great feedback and thanks for checking in. We are thinking of changing out the cable to a synthetic winch rope next year. Prevents rust and is actually stronger if you can believe it! Thanks for checking in.

    I was on the CruiserLift page (www.cruiserlift.com/cruiserlift) and saw this video that they have featured. That lead me to your UA-cam channel and now I'm enjoying binge watching your videos. Very enjoyable. Thanks!

    Hey, found you when searching for a lift for our harley behind our RV. We are also full time RVers and just subbed to your channel. We have been having to leave our bikes behind most of the time because of the need for a car or truck, which we can two one of the three, but not all three :)

    I love our cruiserlift! I was wondering when you tighten the turnbuckle, do you tighten it down for stability or up to take pressure off the hoist? Thanks!

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  8 років тому

      sdllc03 very good question. The folks at Smitty's who installed it told us to tighten it up but I'm not sure the logic behind that. In thinking about it tightening it down is probably best as you have the main pins its resting on as well as gravity working in your favor for stability. This question might need a call to Cruiserlift for an official answer however, great comment! Wish I had a 100% correct answer for you right now. We'll look into it.

      I've never used one of these, only the carrier for my SUV, but turnbuckles are a TENSIONING device, so should be used to PULL on the underside of the platform. I guess it keeps the bike from rocking toward the vehicle. To me, this looks more like an afterthought to keep the bike and platform from rocking, as it might when when braking, than a part of the original design.

    got a Cruiserlift and installed it on my tag axle Country Coach. The lift carrying my HD Vrod Muscle (approx. 800 .lbs) looked great and works great; however, when traveling and driving down the highway, due to the weight of the bike, you can definitely feel the motorcycle in the back in the sense that the bike will bounce up and down affecting the ride. I was really surprised because I have 10 air bags on my coach. Therefore, as well as it works, I would not suggest to put a heavy bike such as HD or any kind of cruiser. I'm pretty sure if I get a light weight bike 300-400 lbs., it will be perfect. Therefore, I am not traveling with my HD on the back of the coach after the one time use. I will go with a trailer or change to a lighter bike. Hope this helps you folks.

      We definitely notice the bike back there when hitting large dips at high speeds but nothing that would keep us from using the setup. This is true with just about every lift out there. Make sure you have some good straps and keep an eye on trying to use low points on the bike to keep things the most stable. Thanks for the feedback and input, agreed that hopefully it helps folks make an informed decision. Thanks for checking in!

    Good Video! Does the extension bar for the blue ox ever scrap on the ground pulling in and out of driveways because of the additional length?

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  9 років тому

      good question, ours never has hit or scraped. it seems they designed the hitch to be a bit higher than stock. no issues but our Aspire does have a Spartan chassis but as long as your looking at a diesel coach I think you'll be OK.

  • @eastonlee5102

    Do these work on rvs with frame extensions?

  • @maninthemoon09
    @maninthemoon09 8 років тому

    What is the total length of the towbar plus the extension from the receiver on your RV to your toad? If you have a Jeep unlimited wouldn't that put you over limits. Doesn't the lift put you over the 45' length limit for your RV. I don't retire until next year and will start RVing then. I see a lot of rigs that I know do not comply with the limits. I'm assuming that these limits are not strictly enforced. Is that true. I enjoy you videos.

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  8 років тому

      +Randy Jones Hi Randy, yes that is true and our experience is that these regulations are not strictly enforced (we haven't spent any time in California where we are told the regulations are more strictly enforced). We could argue that the motorcycle lift attaches to our trailer hitch so rather than adding to the total length of our vehicle its consider a trailer. In the end it would be up for discussion and interpretation. All that said we've found all across the east coast and middle of the country the only time we are bothered by the police is when they flash their lights and give us a thumbs up as they pass our vehicle. See you on the road and best of luck!

    How do you keep your bike clean when going down the road? I have to think there is a lot of dirt and water spray behind the rv that gets into every nook and cranny on that bike. I am sure you have a cover you put on the bike just wondering how well that works?

    • @wvincagold
      @wvincagold 5 років тому +1

      Get a geezer gear cover. They work wonders and dont damage the paint on the bike.

    If that cable fails on the way up or down your screwed. Hydraulic would just stop. Explain why your concerned about hydraulic failing on the side of the road? You would have to be unloading the bike for it to fail. It’s not going to just fail going down the road. Hydraulic is safer and more dependable every time.

    • @wvincagold

      Yes they leak because people do not clean the ram. Even a light dust can ruin seals. Keep your system clean and lubricated it will run for years trouble free.

      Hey Vincent, "bro," if you can't afford to pay cash for one, you have no business even thinking about it. It's a cart-horse thing, you know, "bro"... ? Oh, wait - even your NAME is backwards. Never mind... "bro." Hahahahaha! Word.

      My kid was in germany a few years ago, and so I was curious about the place from a map perspective, and found a town and street named fucking or something really close to that spelling. It had me laughing out loud, and your log-in name reminded me of that. And then there is the Taiwanese or Vietnamese town named Phuket.
      Are you old enough to remember the TV show Happy Days? Joanie and Chachie (pron. Chot-chee) were a kid-couple eventually, and his name in Korean means "getting some" So they laughed at the TV show spin-off named "Joanie loves Chachie."
