    The idle control is dead easy to determine if its the module or the valve at fault (or some other air leak) its current controlled. The specs for the engine type are in the manual and the maximum current the module is able to output. If you are seeing that maximum current supplied at the valve and the idle is too high you already know the module is maxed out and unable to lower the idle speed. You can connect a variable current bench power supply to the valve directly and monitor its movement - it should be able to basically close the whole way at that upper current spec. If it cant the valve is screwed or gummed up. If the valve is closing and the idle is still too high you got air leaks.
