Having dine this for the first time today, I was surprised at how complex the process was. But now that I see how to do it, it all makes sense and really isn't that crazy. Thanks for the informative video.
At 0:52 while you are sinking the soft top to it's storage place, how do you make sure that the folded soft top doesn't pull the sealing on the side? Is there any protection there?
I came here after seeing a video clips of a driver in South Africa caught in heavy rains with the top down 😩. I had so many questions as to why they didn’t stop to raise the roof
yes, once the soft top is folded in, you can then bring the hard top and place it on. The same logic is used as above to tighten the front and the back. there is a rear window heater that you have to clip in
Awesome, good information, is there a way to prevent the soft roof from tearing apart due to the sun*s hot rays hitting the soft top, I have seen some cars wheras, they have to end up putting some kind of tape to prevent water from entering, the car, at first, I thought maybe somebody vandalized the soft roof, but when you use duct tape, in order to prevent the part(s) that dried up due to the hot weather, it looked🤪at first I thought maybe some kind of protectant like the one used for leather.
I have a problem with the second part of the raising proccess. my softop is a bit stiff i think and its really hard to secure the back piece in place. any advice? thank you!

Great videos !! We just bought a 1979 450-sl and had no idea how to work the top. Your videos are easy to understand and to the point. Cheers 🥂

Can you put the hard top on after folding back the soft top? Or it's different type of car?
