This episode is kind of beautiful. If ghosts were real, you shared music with an old man, let children play with a toy dog, and let someone play a joke. I imagine being a spirit could be lonely; you guys may have brought warmth to people who haven't experienced it in a long time.

This is probably the most wholesome haunted place ever. Even if there was some dark stuff, the little ghost kids were trying to pet the dog, Roy was a super kind man who had a walk with them while listening to music. He helped the lady with rat because she was scared. :]

That spirit box is a waste of time. All it’s doing is scrambling through various frequencies and occasionally picks up radio stations. They’ve never really gotten anything good off it, or more than a couple of words. Waste of time
i dont know why but the part where they play the opera for all the ghosts is making me tear up. ive watched this episode multiple times, and only now is that moment invoking such an emotional response. i think it’s the fact that, even after death, everyone is having a lovely time listening to some opera. and it’s not sad or angry opera either. its JAUNTY! its undeniably upbeat and exciting and happy! it feels good. even ryan seems to be having a good time, despite how scared he is.

I can tell Roy was a very kind man and wanted the best for everyone. You can tell he still is whether or not you believe in ghosts, you can tell he was a very very caring man who wanted to take care of you. Everyone would want to be his friend and he was a gentle giant.

Honestly playing Opera music for ghosts in an abandoned hospital is the aesthetic I strive for.

I thought the dog bit was really cute.
This has to be one of the most wholesome of the investigations. Normally when I rewatch these old episodes I feel at least a little spooked but it’s sweet having a man’s spirit be able to listen to his favorite music and little kids petting the dog. I miss these old episodes so much.
It would’ve been nice to see Ryan ask more intriguing questions to these spirits as he is actually receiving responses. Questions like “why are you scared?” Or “why are you still here?” I know fear is a main factor but any opportunity to peak into what happens after death is worth exploring.

A little ghostie pet a dog, a giant went on a stroll with some buds after having a nice convo listening to his favourite music and he also helped out a lady who was scared of a rat and when ryan asked if they were scared they gave a "a little"

Honestly, kudos to Ryan, I don't believe in ghosts, spirits, or demons, but the idea of being locked in a poorhouse/asylum where so much concentrated suffering FOR SURE took place, while the wind was howling like it was the end of days??? My brain would have melted in there. Absolutely not. I would never have done it, and I don't even believe! Can't even comprehend the bravery that took.
Roy is by far my favorite ghost, this episode is just the most wholesome

I think it's weird she was freaked out by a rat being in the building since I'd be amazed if there weren't rats there tbh, hahaha. But she said the footprints were there as though someone had really kicked at the wall, and smeared bloody handprints on the wall after smashing a rat to pieces... I'd be freaked out about that WAY more than a rat running around! Is he supposedly friendly because splattering a rat to bits then smearing it's blood everywhere is meant to be helpful?? Uh... Yeah I'd be pretty fucking scared of 'Roy' if I saw that happen, hahaha

It’s crazy because they didn’t introduce themselves and then asked for Roy to repeat their names back, but he didn’t know their names so he asked. I’m not a huge believer in ghosts but I will admit, that just might change my mind.

Nobody's going to talk about how that "artist's rendition" of the Screaming Lady looks more like someone drew a picture of the girl in the movie Grave Encounters whose mouth gets all huge?
I live near by Rolling Hills Asylum. I remember one of the prior owners was a retired farmer who sold his farm to purchase this building and was restoring old coach wagons in the basement. He was a friendly bearded man, his wife as well, and enjoyed talking about the building and his plans for the future. He gave me and the family a tour of the whole building as well as the large underground tunnel. He showed us how he hooked up a milk truck, to hold and supply water to the building. He started renting space for small shops inside to help financially run it. There was a Mennonite family who made wonderful baked goods, and a little restaurant that was (was) set up so cute. I really enjoyed going there about once a week. There was an Amish store there that sold beautiful handmade items where I bought a highchair there, bench table and a bachelors stool. There was also a very nice kite shop there and they would demonstrate outside how to use there specially made kites (bought one). He did a lot of work on the building. (It is sad to see how the building looks now) He had informed me that he had done dry wall in the house I live in. Small world.
I remember going there when Mrs. Carlson purchased the building as well as lived in the main house on the property right next door with her family. She continued having the small shops in there selling their wear. She also was a girl scout leader and my daughter attended the meetings there. Mrs. Carlson did research on the building and turned it into a hunted business. The upkeep went down after that. The little shops just couldn't make it there being so far from any large populated towns and cities. I find it interesting that owner(s) new and past, turned it into a more haunted Asylum then when I walked through it so many times years ago. Oh the memories.

I just went there a couple days ago. The downstairs felt so unsettling. We actually ended up getting a picture pointed towards the downstairs while we were upstairs and nobody was downstairs but there is a clear figure wearing a hat and a uniform standing in the bottom of the stairway.
